On Christmas morning， the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light attwo o‘clock， and most of them are awake by six o’clock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of the year.

Children look for their presents ， and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. At about one o‘clock in the afternoon， the Christmas dinner is brought in . The turkey or chicken is quickly eaten . Children search in their Christmas pudding for new coins which are hidden in it . The rest of the day is full of games and eating until the happiest of all Christmas hollidays comes to an end.

But soon changed my opinion.

Have a school extra-curricular knowledge competition. There is a problem is this: why koalas were full of incense? Born with three options: A, B live in fragrance, C it ate A kind of fragrant leaves, fragrant after A long time. The problem is where I met, oh, remember, is a scientific paper read the day before yesterday. Inside, say their love to eat eucalyptus leaves, the leaves has a composition, eat many sweet after a long time. I chose C. A few days later, the examination paper handed out a look, indeed as expected is C. There are a lot of questions, I have seen, its to do for them.

Another time, on the composition. The teacher asked us to write about gakumon. I will reference some quotes, classical poetry. Many people didnt think of, but I thought of. Composition comment on when the teacher read the article to you, let everybody to learn, also praise I love reading. These are all I read more at ordinary times more accumulation effect.

I finally understand, reading can make us more extracurricular knowledge, write good articles. Of course the most important thing is reading make life more wonderful. So a lot of good reading.

可是不久就改变了我的看法。

有一次学校组织课外知识竞赛。有一道题是这样的：树袋熊为什么浑身是香的?三个选择：A与生俱来的，B生活在清香中，C它吃了一种香的树叶，时间长了就香了。这道题我在哪见过，哦，想起来了，就是前天阅读的一篇科学论文。里面提到的，说是树袋熊爱吃桉树叶，这种树叶里有一种成分，吃多了时间长了就香了。我选了C。过了几天，试卷发下了一看，果然是C。还有好多题，我都见过，才把它们做对的。

还有一次，上作文课。老师要我们写关于劝学的文章。我就引用了一些名言、古诗。好多人都没有想到，可是我想到了。作文点评时，老师把这篇文章读给大家听，让大家学习，还表扬我爱读书呢。这些都是我平时多阅读多积累的效果。

我终于明白了，阅读能让我们多补充课外知识，写出好的文章。当然最重要的是阅读让生活变得更精彩。所以说阅读好处多多。

I think reading is important in the whole life for people. There are many

benefits of reading.

Firstly, reading increases our knowledge and we can learn the world affairs

without going out. Secondly, reading is a good way to improve reading and

writing skills. Before you learn to write, you must know how others write.

Thirdly, reading can broaden our knowledge and horizon, which is important to

job hunting in the future.

Finally, reading helps us become self-cultivation that would be beneficial

to our whole life. Therefore, start to reading, no matter how old you are and

what you are doing. Then, you may find the great charm and benefits of

reading.

高尔基说“读书是人类进步的阶梯”，而冰心先生也倡导“多读书，读好书。”而有一段时间我却无论如何不能浸入到大块头的书里去，心里总是嘀咕，那么厚，看了又有什么用，还不如看看搞笑的漫画多快乐。而自己所读过的名着也是历次寒暑假老师布置的必读书目，虽然都看过了，感觉也很好，可是不久就又会丢弃了。

读书真的没用吗?直到我看了那个故事。

已故国学大师任继愈先生小时候，总会跟着爷爷摇头晃脑地朗读《诗经》、《春秋》等国学经典书籍。有一天，他对爷爷说：“我总是会忘记朗读的内容，而且我并不能理解意思。那朗诵这些又会获得什么呢?”

他的爷爷让他提着竹篮去打水，一趟趟无功而返，他认为用竹篮打水是不可能的。

爷爷笑了笑说：“真的没用吗?你看篮子多干净了。孩子也许你只记住了古典书籍中的只言片语，可是朗读的环境，文字的内容会影响到你，会净化你的心灵。”

于是任继愈先生牢记爷爷的话，与书为伍，终于成为我国宗教学的泰斗。

其实读书带给我们的益处，生活中随处可见。

“百善孝为先”它让我们懂得了孝顺的含义，而心里装着孝字的人，自然就会有了责任，而勇于承担责任的人必定就是坚强，无所畏惧的人，那么还有什么是不可以成功的呢?

“宝剑锋从磨砺出，梅花香自苦寒来”，它告诉我们只有接受磨砺才会收获硕果。

而平时人与人交往的和谐得体，又怎么不是从书本中学来的呢?

当你烦恼了，沮丧了，茫然了，帮你解脱的道理哪个不是来自书中呢?

小偷永远不懂偷盗的可耻，强盗永远不知道抢劫是无耻的，只因为他们不读书，不懂得做人的道理。

试想如果人类不读书，那么文明就会停止，一切就会停滞不前，不发展的人类又如何生存下去呢?

读书会丰富我们的头脑，读书会让我们更有智慧，读书能陶冶人的情操，而读书也是放松心情的好办法。

捧一本书，静静地看下去，去感受那沁入心脾的书香，慢慢地你就会喜欢上读书。那么无论何时何地，只要你有时间，就去感受读书的魅力吧。
