According to the WHO，2 million people died from smoking and 600 thousand

from secondhand smoke every year. So smoking is banned in China in all public

places both inside and outside from May 1 on.

As is known to all, smoking is bad for peoples health. It may cause many

diseases such as cough, lung cancer and so on. Smoking is especially harmful to

us teenagers because our bodies are still growing. Secondhand smoke does harm to

us as well. So we must do something to keep away from smoking. If someone offers

a cigarette, we should refuse it. And if anyone smokes nearby, we should try to

I live with my father and mother in a very big house in Dongguan. My parents are both very busy. They leave for work very early in the morning and don’t return home until late in the evening.

I think its very bad because that is a very big of waste food. In this month, our school asks us to clear up our plates. Everyone should eat up our food and say no to wasting. My teacher gave me an assignment "experience life" last week. I had been thinking how to finish it because I had never done any thing by myself before.

Mother was out today. It was a good chance to complete the assignment. Seeing the barrel was empty, I decided to fetch water from the well.

I took the empty barrel and went towards the well outside the yard. It snowed yesterday, so the alley was very slippery. A layer of thickice was frozen on the platform of the well. I was frightened by the sight, but I gathered my courage to walk towards it.

The alley was so slippery that I walked with difficultly. Suddenly, I slipped and fell down, water in the barrel totally poured down on the ground. I stepped on the platform carefully. After standing steadily and squatting down slowly, I hooked the barrel at the end of the rope and put the rope down slowly. I made an effort to drag the barrel up after it was filled with water. When I was in Grade 5,my mother sent me to an English school.My English was still very bad there and I didnt stand up when the teacher let us stand up and dance.But to my surprise,that English teacher called Angela didnt hate me and she still gave me another chance.One day,Angela found me and said:"Janice,you are very good,I trust that you can study English very well and you can be a good ***e on,my clever Janice,study English carefully from now on.Can you do it"Angela looked at me and I looked her>She looked like mysister who smiled at me.
