Washington. Her father, the Civil War veteran William Jackson Smart, as a single

parent raised his six children in Spokane, Washington. She was inspired by Anna

Jarviss efforts to establish Mothers Day. Although she initially suggested

June 5, the anniversary of her fathers death, she did not provide the

organizers with enough time to make arrangements, and the celebration was

deferred to the third Sunday of June. The first Fathers Day was celebrated on

June 19, 1910, in Spokane.

Unofficial support from such figures as William Jennings Bryan was

immediate and widespread. President Woodrow Wilson was personally feted by his

family in 1916. President Calvin Coolidge recommended it as a national holiday

in 1924. In 1966, President Lyndon Johnson made Fathers Day a holiday to be

celebrated on the third Sunday of June. The holiday was not officially

recognized until 1972, during the presidency of Richard Nixon.

虽然没有橄榄绿的军装，但那青春活泼的稚脸是我们的经典，虽然没有凉爽的天气，但充满朝气的面容是我们的色彩。操场上的空气散发着自信与拼搏的气息，操场上的每一个点滴，都震撼着我们的心灵。

军训的第一天开始了，我怀着一股强烈的好奇心。谁料，这一天却刮起呼呼凛冽的狂风。因此，我们只好待在教室里。下午，天气发生了巨大的变化，晴空万里，闷不透风的。教官叫我们做稍息立正这些动作。我觉得太好笑了，稍息立正这些简单容易的动作小学一年级就会了，干嘛还要学呀!可是，我们虽然会做，但却一点也不标准。原来，稍息立正也很讲究的。就拿立正来说吧，“两脚脚跟并拢，脚尖分开约六十度，腰挺直，两手。。.。。.”

我最讨厌的就是站军姿了。用立正的姿势站在原地，还要做到纹丝不动。一站就是二三十分钟。艳阳的照耀，让我感到无比的闷热。豆大的汗珠不断地流着，流过了我的脸颊，流过了我的嘴角，流进了我的心。。.。。.我似乎感到这汗水是那么苦涩。此时此刻，我多么想放弃，但我还是坚决的告诉自己：你一定行的，不要半途而废，时间快到了，坚持就是胜利，坚持就是胜利，坚持。。.。。.

在这严肃、艰苦的军训中，也有令人喜悦的一刻。军训的第四天，指挥教官带领我们十二个班一起拉歌。每一个班都派一个能歌善舞的同学上台表演，表演者生动、活泼、幽默;观众也看得拍手称快。军训最后一天，汇操表演。我们初一(2)班的同学们都尽自己的一份力，为班争光。“功夫不负有心人”我们班荣获汇操表演第三名。这个奖凝聚了我们班每一位同学的努力和汗水。

军训像个五味瓶，甜、酸、苦、辣、咸样样都有。军训是一堂心灵的课程，我们曾经学过一句诗“千磨万击还坚劲，任尔东西南北风。”只要我们有钢铁般的意志，坚韧不拔的精神，持之以恒的决心，就一定会战胜困难，做到自己认为不能做到的事。

星期天的早上，我早早的起床了。心想：“有一节课上要让我们种绿豆芽呢?”我就找来一个一次性杯和绿豆，我将杯子灌满水，然后拿了一把绿豆，它浑身都是绿色的，好像身披着一件绿色披风一样，只有一个椭圆形的地方是白色的，我又把它拿在手里撮了一下，感到是有一些粗糙的感觉，好像握着的是一小把凹凸不平的石头似的。最后，我把它放入了水中，它们有的在水里面翩翩起舞，旋转的沉下去;有的好像不愿意呆在水里似的，它便在白色的部分上升起了一个小小的“降落伞”。可是它的“降落伞”不久就“坏了”，便只好沉入了水底。我好像都听见它们在“咕咚，咕咚”的喝水呢!过了一会儿，绿豆们的身上便结满了小水珠，像一颗颗珍珠似的。

它们是多么可爱啊!就像一个个绿色小精灵一样!

在我们要吃午饭的时候，我去看了一下，发现绿豆身上的小珍珠不见了，只剩下几颗绿豆身上还留着的两三颗珍珠。而且还有几颗绿豆白色的地方下面长出了一颗颗嫩绿的小芽，还裂了一道口子，使它那层绿色的皮开了一道小小的口子。它的速度可正快呀!

下午我来看豆芽菜的时候，看到又有几颗绿豆发芽了，原来的绿豆芽也长到5毫米了，而且脱去了它的一半的“披风”，就像穿了一件有帽子的衣服一样，中间也裂了一道大口子。听妈妈说，发芽了的豆子不能泡太多的水，否则就会淹死的。我赶紧倒掉了杯子里的一些水，我在下面放了一点泥土，浇了一点水，用纱布放了上去，把它们放在有阳光的地方，希望它们能在阳光下的照耀下快乐的生活成长。

今天是军训的第三天，由于这次军训该学的内容在昨天已全部完成，我们今天的主要任务就是复习之前所学的。虽然说是复习，但还是感到有少许力不从心。我们在太阳底下一遍一遍地练习着。在这个别样的过程中，我们心酸并快乐着。心酸中总是隐藏着最灿烂的快乐，同样因为有了心酸，快乐也变得完整!我们有个严肃幽默并具的教官，他体谅我们身体状况，会让我们时常休息会儿，也明白我们的压力，会逗我们小开心下。

今天还有一个任务就是整理内务。从小到大都很佩服军人，其中就有佩服他们的内务整理。上午，教官就去了各个寝室，指导我们如何叠被子，如何摆放各个物品。我们也认真学习着，希望明天的大检查中，能取得好成绩。

军训会让我们懂得许多，了解如何严格要求自己，如何在团队中更好的生活。

Not long ago I just read the English version of "Diary of Anne Frank." In fact, this is not the first time I read this book. When I first read it in elementary school, and read the Chinese version. Then still small, still can not read, that means nothing. Now it seems there feeling very deeply.

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl. She could and ordinary girl, living a happy life, but she was not hiding different parents attic. Anne all day hiding in dark little attic to escape the Nazis killing. She could not get close to nature, can not be friends like before play. In the shadow of the shadow of death, Anne only keep a diary to get through tough every day. For her, the diary as her friends, her only friends can rely on and talk. She wrote in her diary a lot, there are silent on the racial discrimination complaint, more of the outside world, the natural yearning for thinking about life.

From her diary, I can imagine she was helpless, fear, but a more leisurely and calm. This is a great girl.

不久前我刚看完了英文版的《安妮日记》。其实这不是我第一次看这本书了。第一次看的时候我才上小学，看的是中文版的。那时还小，还读不懂，觉得没什么意思。而现在看起来，却有很深很深的感触。

安妮 弗兰克是个犹太女孩。她本可以和普通女孩一样过着快乐的生活，但她却不得不同父母躲到阁楼里。小小的安妮整日躲在阴暗的阁楼里，躲避着纳粹的捕杀。她无法亲近自然，无法和朋友们像以前一样玩耍。在死亡阴影的笼罩下，安妮只有记日记来度过难熬的每一天。对于她来说，日记就像她的朋友，她唯一可以依赖和倾诉的朋友。她在她的日记里写下了很多，有对种族歧视的无声的控诉，更多的是对外面世界，对自然的向往，对人生的思考。

从她的日记中，我可以想像出她当时的无助，惶恐，但更有从容和镇定。这是一个了不起的女孩。

看完了《安妮日记》，我的内心很沉重。纳粹的种族歧视，残害了多少像安妮一样无辜可爱的孩子。战争从来都是可恶的，它让人类经历的是一场场劫难。

感谢《安妮日记》，让人们看到了战争的丑恶，让人们去思考，去为不幸的人们哀悼。

愿历史不要再重演，祈求世界永远和平。

College life

When I was young at high school,I couldnt stop dreaming about my college life again and again.Suffering too much pressure form college entrance test,I always admired college students for their relaxed life in college.

In my personal opinion,living in university is an enjoyment.Every day we can open our eyes naturally,and put on clothes in our own style without warring about teachers rigid control.Communicating with great master is no longer beyond our reach.Each course we take can be a feast for our mind and soul.After class,we will lead a rich and colorful life filled with various leisure activities such as .Library in university is another factor I pursue.I think its an access to enhancing our comprehensive abilities to read even just scan all sorts of

writings.Whats more,we will have so much disposable time that we can do whatever worthy.And our contact group will be extended signally via organizing and participating many activities.All in all,I once imagined that I can live a life that is substantial but meaningful.

However,I just have to admit that what I just describe is really dream.Now living in SD I cant figure out what I pursue and make a feasible career planning.So many young cynics in this schoolyard argue for something meaningless.Worse still,the academic atmosphere has already done with nothing left.I havent found a busy but rich thing to try my best.As a matter of fact,I even cant choose a lifestyle I prefer.What a tragedy it is between dream and reality.

Tomorrow is fathers day, and my fathers busy figure is shaking in front of

my eyes, how can I express my love for my father? Id like to go, oh, yeah, thats

the way to do it.

Fathers day came, and I said to my mother, "mom, today is fathers day. Lets

give dad a surprise." "Mom said," ok." I put it on my mothers ear and whispered,

"we are..."

My mother and I messed up the house, as if we didnt know anything. Dad went

home, looked at his house and asked, "do you know what day it is?" My mother

said, "let me see, is the world anti-drug day?" "No." Dad pointed to the day on

the clock. I cried out, "its our banjis birthday!" Dad listened, as if his heart

were broken.

Baba bowed his head and entered the room. My mother and I broke into the

room and said, "happy fathers day!" Then my father hugged me and mom, and we all

laughed.

Thanksgiving, or Thanksgiving Day, is coming. Its a traditional North

American holiday,and is a form of harvest festival. In the United States, the

fourth Thursday in November is called Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving was about

the Pilgrims, the first settlers in America. They shared the first harvest with

the Indians and gave thanks.

Thanksgiving Day is usually a family day. People always celebrate with big

dinners and happy reunions. Pumpkin pie and Indian pudding are traditional

Thanksgiving desserts. Relatives from other cities, students who have been away

at school, and many other Americans travel a long distance to spend the holiday

at home.

On that day, Americans give thanks for the blessings they have enjoyed

during the year. And I am sure that we all must have a lot to be thankful for.

Maybe you would like to give thanks for being here with your family and for

being well,or give thanks for a healthy year, a good job,or thank your friends

for encouraging you when you are in dismay,etc.

I got up early this morning and had breakfast quickly. Then my mother and I

took the bus to my grandmother`s home. My grandmother was glad to see me again.

She gave me candies and a cup of milk. She was really kind to me. At noon, we

had lunch, There were lofts of people. After that, I talked with my grandmother.

She laughed again an d again. Then I played with my brother and my little

sister. Finally , I said "see you " to each other.

Today we buy many clothes， and parents take to the streets is happy， the

parents have to pay to buy things. Unlike in their street to buy things they

like to take a long time but saw the price， Ha-ha， is really very happy. I love

my parents， I too thank them for the care and love.
