《老人与海》讲述的一名孤独的老人出海已有八十四次，但是每一次都是一鱼不获，前四十次还有一位小男孩陪伴，但后来小男孩因父母的劝说不能和老人一起出海打鱼。老人在岸上只能和小男孩说话，在海上却只能自言自语。再第八十五次打鱼时，老人偶然碰到了一只马林鱼，老人虽然独力勇捕了一只十八英长的马林鱼，却无力驱杀争食的“牙利鬼”。他败了，但是带回去的马林残骸，向众渔夫见证了他虏获的战利品并非夸大，而是真正的光荣。故事结束时，老人不甘放弃，仍然和男孩准备在跨海出征。正如“乡愁诗人”余光中先生所说的：“《老人与海》真是一片刚阳﹑壮阔、紧添的杰作。”

In winter vacation, I watched a movie called Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is very interesting. Though I watched this movie before, I still felt moved this time. The movie is very famous, and won seven Oscar Awards. The plot is like following:

Long long ago, Snow White stayed happily with her parents. But the queen was jealous of Snow White and she sent the hunter to kill Snow White, but the hunter let Snow White escape. One day, the queen dressed up as an old farmer’s wife and gave Snow White a poisonous apple. Snow White ate the poisonous apple and felt into a deep sleep. The Seven Dwarfs was very sad and put her in a coffin. By and by, a prince saved Snow White and she woke up. They got married and lived happily.

I like this story. It tells us a truth: People like beauty and good. The wicked never kill the good! We are happy the prince and the princess were married and lived happily. We hope they can live forever!

Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.

As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. “I”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the Asteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the Sahara, on the earth.

Traveling on the earth, the little prince, who sees a garden of five-thousand roses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considers his rose is unique in the universe before. At that time a fox appears. The fox, who tell the little prince about the meaning of the word “tame”, becomes his new friend. At the time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose is unique because she is his rose and tamed by him. From that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose.

At the anniversary day of his descent of the earth, rejecting the pilot’s advice, he goes back to his own planet by bite of a snake. “It’s too far. I can not carry this body with me. It’s too heavy.” he said. He tells his friend, the pilot, he must be responsible for his rose, so he has to go back. At the end the author doesn’t tell us the ending directly. Maybe it’s more significant for us to imagine, and for more, think over.

One of the important characters is the rose. Growing on the planet, she is very beautiful, but her coquetry and vanity suffer the little prince a lot. In spite of they love each other, he soon becomes unhappy. On the time of his departure, he just knows she certainly loves him. The character of the little prince actually represents the children, and their native thoughts and deeds. On the contrary, the inhabitants on the other planets, such as the king, the businessman and the conceited man, they also reflect the defects in the grown-up’s world. The real theme of this fairy-tale with a little sadness, I guess, is the consequence of pure love and friendship in our lives, but not others “matters of consequence” of the grown-ups.

During this term I have read a novel The Red and the Black. The novel was written by the French writer Stendhal in the 19th century. Marie·Henri Beyle better known by his pen name Stendhal was one of the critical realism French writers in the 19th century . The military and theatrical worlds of the First French Empire were a revelation to Beyle. Known for his acute analysis of his characters’ psychology and reflection of society he is considered one of the earliest and foremost practitioners of realism in his two novels Le Rouge et le Noir (The Red and the Black 1830) and La Chartreuse de Parme (The Charterhouse of Parma 1839). Stendhal laid down for himself in a diary entry of May 1804:“regard everything I’ve read to date about man as a prediction; believe only what I have seen for myself. The novel marks the beginning of realism. André Gide said that The Red and the Black was a novel ahead of its time that it was a novel for readers in the twentieth century. "The Little Prince" is a clear book, as clear as the water. It’s writes for adults, teenagers and children. It is a book about life and the lives of the fable. As the book said, the water on the heart is beneficial. And "Little Prince" can make people feel warm and fresh.

The story is about a boy. He lives on a small planet. He is the only person of the planet. He is a lonely prince. Fortunately, a beautiful rose came in his life. They loved each other. But a little argument separated them. He left the planet which he lives, starts traveling. He went to many planets and met many different people. He likes to watch the sunset when he was sad. He found that people wanted happiness, but always pushed away happiness rudely.

At last, he understood how to love each other. Love and life is a very important thing. He is very regret. He wanted to return to the planet which he lives. But he didn’t know the road. He chose to drank snake venom end his life because he thought it will be able to cast off his bulky body to go back.

Every time, when I read "The Little Prince", I always moved about it. In real life, we often busy in the whole day, such as a fly without soul. The passage of time, childhood away, we grew up and took away a lot of memories, but we also have an oasis in the heart.

Because ‘The Little Prince’ story, we live in quiet, the heart has a hope and love, have touched on the responsibility of the life.

读书笔记——《傲慢与偏见》已经不止一次读过简·奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》，而根据此书改编的电影我也细细看过两回。我想于读者而言，只读一遍，那么这最多只是一个曲折的爱情故事，而再读，便能走出这个爱情故事，在看到主人公身上所暴露出的人性的缺点后，开始去观察当时整个社会的状态，并试着去探索人与人之间正确的相处方式。可以说，整本书从头到尾都离不开两个字：爱情。年轻男女相遇，难免产生爱慕之情，作者在书中塑造了多对情侣，通过不同人之间的对比，向我们揭示了爱情的真谛。爱情在于坚守，在于包容。就如宾利与简，身份的差距让人们对他们的爱情产生了质疑，宾利自己亦曾迷茫过，在达西和妹妹卡罗琳的劝说下狠心离开过简。

一读《傲慢与偏见》，能够邂逅一场爱情；再三读《傲慢与偏见》，却能在书中捕捉到现实社会的缩影。作者简曾提到她创造了一个现实中少有的优秀的达西先生，然而我想，她并不单单是塑造了一个人物，而是点亮了人心底最强烈的欲望。像达西这一类英俊富有的先生，必然为众多少女所倾慕和追求，少女们不顾他们性格如何，品格如何，光光只看他鼓囊的钱袋，显赫的家世，俊朗的外表，便倾心于他，她们的父母也是加以支持，盼望如此的佳婿走进自家的门来，自此家门荣光。这展现了当时社会的浮躁和功利，社会地位，金钱权利，都牢牢掌控着每一个人的思维，真爱往往被现实所击败，失去了应有的力量，褪去了应有的色彩。再观当今社会，又何尝不是这样，物欲横流，攀权附贵，凡事都难免为金钱所影响，有独立个性的人，又能有几个？真挚忠贞的爱情又能残存几分？哪怕是20出头的大学生谈恋爱，都不得不先考虑家庭条件、门第等因素，更何况在社会上行走多年的男男女女。

但可喜的是，作者创造了一个伊丽莎白，尽管深陷物质社会，她却依旧保持清醒，凭着自己的学识和修养，懂得适时拒绝，懂得适时接受，勇敢地追求真爱。这让我们相信社会再不明朗，也总有清醒和不屈的人，我们不该只是让伊丽莎白活在心中，更要让她活在我们的身上，以带领我们去纠正这个社会扭曲的婚姻观和价值观。我永远也无法放下《傲慢与偏见》这本书，它在我人生的路上不断地给予我警示。得意时，是否不觉傲慢？失意时，又是否不觉自卑？对于眼前这个人，是否公平，亦或是存有偏见？常常问问自己，也才能生活得更安心、，更忠于人生的本意和价值。

读了奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》让我知道了原来在遥远的欧洲不仅有罗密欧与朱丽叶那样悲壮的爱情，像莎翁那样的古典哥特式的美，原来也有市井家，回归生活的美。简单，精致，如同“两寸牙雕”，却窥视出了整个社会。

贝内特夫妇五个女儿待字闺中，没有子嗣，依照当时的法律，他们死后家产须由远房内侄柯林斯继承，因此把五个女儿嫁到有钱人家，成了贝内特太太最大的心愿。于是在这样的背景下展开了整个故事的架构。虽然作者在作品中没有重大的社会矛盾，但她以女性特有的细致入微的观察力，真实的描绘了她周围世界的小天地，尤其是绅士淑女间的婚姻和爱情

风波。其实小说中的班奈特太太是当时社会大多数人的缩影，爱情对她们来说是不可靠的奢侈品，她们只看重物质，看重权势。所以当富有单身的宾利来到内瑟菲尔德庄园，便成了众人注目的焦点和谈论的话题，以及小说中对军官们到来，小镇人民细微的表情和言语的描写，将当时社会风气展现的淋漓尽致。

然而作者奥斯汀是一个具有批判精神的女性，于是她塑造了一个追求纯粹的爱情，多少有些藐视权贵的伊丽莎白。虽然小说写于19世纪初叶，但是她所阐述的爱情观与婚姻观放在当下中国却也依旧是那么热点的问题。看到社会中充斥着的拜金主义，炫富事件，小三，包养等心中竟升起一种荒凉，但这也并非真爱的缺失，而是社会问题。我个人认为这种狂热的拜金主义是因为社会制度的不够完善，本来在一个市场经济国家，对金的崇拜，对物质的追求是很正常的事，然而在中国却显得有些病态了，因为在中国没钱你便无法在这个社会生存下去，在“生存”这把悬于头顶的大刀压迫下，拜金现象自然变得严重，人间的真善美也在死亡的威胁下大大贬值。而在国外，特别是欧洲，因为社会保障制度的完善，哪怕你没钱，你还可以生存，所以在国外对艺术，对学术的追求热情远高于中国，同样在那样一个安逸的社会里，爱情观也让现代中国青年向往。

在我看来婚姻的奠基本来就应该是爱情，如同伊丽莎白所追求的一样。面包与玫瑰的选择，若二者不可得兼，取玫瑰而舍面包也。这种选择或许是因为我还没有面临生活的压力，但是追求爱，追求美的确是发自内心的呼吁。

但这只是个人的做出的选择罢了，在经济学中的一个重要基本假设

那便是人的欲望是无限的，而资源是有限的，所以人们总是在不停的面临选择，而我只是出于个人偏好更侧重精神，愿意承受更大的机会成本而已。同样，有些人更侧重于物质，这只是一个选择，没有对错可言。然人毕竟是社会性动物，当大部分人做出了同样的选择，那这个选择便成了一种风气，久而久之，便成了一种习俗。之所以将题目设为“两寸牙雕”，不仅是因为《傲慢与偏见》的精巧细致，更是因为通过这个“牙雕”窥见了当时的风气，抛开爱情不谈，还有其他的一些感慨。

首先让我感慨的是当时人们对法律的敬畏和遵守因为整个故事的构架便是在依据当时法律贝内特夫妇死后财产由远房内侄继承这个源动力的作用下进行的，可见当时法治发展的水平。

其次是平等，“傲慢与偏见”这个书名便是在平等的观念下产生的，达西因为在交际舞会上不肯与他

人跳舞，让伊丽莎白认为他十分傲慢，以至于产生了偏见。要认识和结交朋友都必须与他人一同跳舞，随时更改舞伴，尽兴而为，虽然这个平等具有局限性，但这些应该便是现在欧洲国家自由，平等，法治等观念的雏形。这些从两寸牙雕中观察出的细末，让我回眼中国的当下，期待能发现更多的进步雏形。

第一次读甘长铭老师的小说，是一个很偶然的原因。在长江边拉琴唱歌，甘老师高歌一曲《我像雪花天上来》，音色圆润，高亢明亮，干净的嗓音不带一点杂音。充满激情的演唱让我深深地折服。

我和甘老师深入交谈中，得知甘老师常年笔耕不缀。于是我向甘老师提出能否拜读大作。甘老师很爽快地应承了。一个月色如水的晚上，我们在三峡宜昌长江边畔的屈原像下继续拉琴唱歌时，甘老师走来，静静滴坐在一旁。等候大家歌曲联唱表演完毕，在《难忘今宵》的优美旋律里，甘老师取出随身带来的中篇小说。我接过来浏览了一下，工工整整的钢笔行书体，遒劲有力。真是字如其人啊!分手之后，我踏着月光回家，倚在床上就着桔黄色的灯光，一口气读完，意犹未尽，不忍释卷。从心底呼出一个声音：真是一片吸人眼球的好小说。很久没有读到这么新颖的作品。这篇小说《寻找失落的世界》，有一个很独特的书名，故事也引人入胜，其中主人公舒灿和叶丽、郭爽之间的情感纠葛情节跌宕起伏，爱情与利益之间的矛盾冲突尖锐复杂;传统观念与现代理念的冲突，揭示的很到位。

读过一遍，欲罢不忍，还想再读。也许是时间仓促，我读的不够仔细，但是已经感受到小说中字里行间都透露着浓浓的生活气息，那娓娓道来的叙述，像是自己的一个朋友，或者是一个亲人，在述说自己生活中的经历，自己身边发生的故事，没有陌生感，也没有矫柔造作之词，文笔优美，文字清新，有作者细腻的情感，也有对生活的品读和反思，是一篇很不错的作品!

Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the he-ro-in-e,though I didn’t think she’s beautiful. But she’s smart. However, I didn’t pay much attention to the plot. I thought it’s so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven’t read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice. In fact, I didn’t understand the story at that time. I didn’t know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn’t find where’ s the prejudice. I thought it’s normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. In fact,we are always pride and think something in our mind but not right,we assess the others only depend on their background or their color of skin , we hide our true heart and pretend ,we dispise the others without any reason……But why don’t we ask ourselves in our heart or mind: what do we feel in fact?
