因为班主任布置的经典小说的任务，我拿起了一直放在书架上的那本“外国名著”。——但是我并不喜欢。

对于我来说，那些枯燥的名著里并不会有现在言情小说里的轰轰烈烈，所以我一直对于名著有些抵抗。我也不知是不是先入为主的观念，所以让我觉得其他小说也理应如此。

但是当我翻开第一页的时候，我就有些惊讶，它并不像是其他小说一样开头就开始叙述感情线——也许是现在感情线主流小说的原因吧。

简·奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》语言非常精练，在故事方面有很大的空间，给人一个无限的遐想空间。若真用漂亮的词语来形容，我便要说：作者深厚的文字功底让我感觉像是做了一场梦，梦里如同掠过竹林的风，带给我竹林般的清凉，泉水般的清澈，让人随时随地沉迷于其中。

我能选择这本小说，应当是因为里面的爱情故事。当今的社会，有太多美好、不美好的故事了，所以当我每次觉得社会冷漠，并没有我想的那么温暖的时候，我就会寄情与网络上的言情小说，便一发不可收拾。

可是当我看完了这本书，我真心觉得——当初的想法错了。

这个世上的事情，总要是看自己用什么角度去看的。在这部描写爱情与婚姻的小说里，和我当初看的文章大相径庭。小说围绕班奈特太太如何把五个女儿嫁出去的主题展开。书中一共写了四队青年男女的结合，作者一一加以比较，批判，爱憎分明的阐述了自己的爱情与婚姻观。富有傲慢的达西和睿智具有反叛精神的伊丽莎白，温柔体贴的简和有权有势的宾利，以及莉迪亚和威克姆，夏洛蒂与柯林斯。

不同的文体风格让我感受了不同的样子，如同一位叫做伊丽莎白的女孩所追求的一样——面包、玫瑰。若两者不可得兼，舍玫瑰而取面包者也。

有的时候，这才是现实，即使我们还不能理解，但是终有一天会面临压力。可是心中追求爱、追求美的欲望却不会停滞。

今天，我把《老人与海》这一本书读完了，这一本书主要讲了一位老人在海上钓鱼，可他一连84没有钓上一条鱼。

其实这本书我读完后，并没有完全理解这本书的意思，于是我就问了妈妈，妈妈就又给我讲了一遍，我才明白了一些。

老人一连84天没有任何收获，可是他没有放弃，仍然不停的给自己加油鼓劲，最后他决定去深海里捕捉一条大大的鱼，于是他就出发了。最后虽然他钓到了一条好大的鱼，但在在往回返的时候却被大鲨鱼给吃光了，只留下了一条巨大的鱼骨头。他很伤心。

看完这本书，我心里有点难过。我觉得老人很可怜。

《百万英镑》是马克.吐温写的一篇中篇幽默讽刺小说。本文故事是，一位公务员出海时在公海中迷了路，被救起后随船到了英国。在英国他成了流浪汉，因为一次两名富翁打赌，给他了一张100万英镑整的钞票，看他可不可以养活自己一个月。因为无法证明钞票归他所有，他一开始不敢花，后来实在饿得没有办法，拿钞票去饭店试试，结果店老板认为他是个富翁，允许他欠账，还想送给他东西，讨好他。结果他用这种方式，弄够了所有生活用品，还和别人合作赚了30万英镑。

To my disappointment nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodnein humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’ they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

Huckleberry Finn was a great literary work published in 1885 and written by Mark Twain. One of the most positive things about the book would be that the reading level is not very advanced and that it shows us a glimpse of the past. Along with the reading level not being very advanced, the book itself is extremely well thought out, and brings the stories, characters, and imagery to life. One of the negatives is the amount of cursing that takes place throughout the book. This is a negative because it is at a children"s reading level and it does not add any literary value to the book as a piece of history. The ugly but I believe necessary part of the book is the use of the n-word. This is a necessary part of the book because it shows to our children and everyone the meaning behind the word. If anything it makes the reader more understanding of the troubles that the slaves when though and understand the meaning of the word a little more deeply.

This book was great, a masterpiece for the lack of words to describe how entirely wonderful it is. The book was a great classic, the only reason that I did read it is because we have to read a classic for school, however, now that I have read it I realize that it was a great book. I would read this book two or three times, and I do not like reading books again. The book was really able to portray the idea of childhood innocence and foolishness in the book, especially the end. I thought that this book was really an eye opener for people who may think that life is not worth living or maybe derpessed. Because, as you can see, Huck was a young boy who had an alcoholic father who beat him all the time, even kidnapped him after he was adopted by other people. Huck even decided to run away from his father, yet he is still a young, fun loving kid in the end, especially when Tom reveals to him how the whole trip was just a game. The only thing I have to say against the book is that it did seem a little racist with its words, however maybe this is just how they talked in that time period? Overall a great read that I highly reccomend.

Fortress besieged is indeed a good book, read it every time I will have a new feeling, a good book does make me in the busy work, study and life there is a piece of leisure time, let oneself alleviate fatigue, make the person be free on the mind.

Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet, I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author, Antoine de St-Exupery, The Little Prince.

As many other fairy-tales, the outline of The Little Prince is not very complex. “I”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the Asteroid B612. The little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

On his all-alone journey, the little prince meets different kinds of people, which includes a king, a conceited man, a tippler, a businessman, a lamplighter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer, he descends in the Sahara, on the earth.

Traveling on the earth, the little prince, who sees a garden of five-thousand roses, is overcome with astonishment and sadness, as he considers his rose is unique in the universe before. At that time a fox appears. The fox, who tell the little prince about the meaning of the word “tame”, becomes his new friend. At the time to say farewell, the fox makes him know that his rose is unique because she is his rose and tamed by him. From that the little prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose.

At the anniversary day of his descent of the earth, rejecting the pilot’s advice, he goes back to his own planet by bite of a snake. “It’s too far. I can not carry this body with me. It’s too heavy.” he said. He tells his friend, the pilot, he must be responsible for his rose, so he has to go back. At the end the author doesn’t tell us the ending directly. Maybe it’s more significant for us to imagine, and for more, think over.

One of the important characters is the rose. Growing on the planet, she is very beautiful, but her coquetry and vanity suffer the little prince a lot. In spite of they love each other, he soon becomes unhappy. On the time of his departure, he just knows she certainly loves him. The character of the little prince actually represents the children, and their native thoughts and deeds. On the contrary, the inhabitants on the other planets, such as the king, the businessman and the conceited man, they also reflect the defects in the grown-up’s world. The real theme of this fairy-tale with a little sadness, I guess, is the consequence of pure love and friendship in our lives, but not others “matters of consequence” of the grown-ups.

Recently, I read a book, "father and son", which tells the story of urchin, father, and an innocent son.

The book is a work of Russian critical realism. A spring pig, just a simple pig wants to see the winter snow. But it should be killed at the Christmas dinner. The pig lived in the farm, where also lived many other kinds of animals, such as horses, cows, geese, a rat and a spider. And who is Charlotte ? It is the spider. At first, when the little pig came into the house, other animals didn’t like him, except a spider. The novel tells of their progress into young womanhood with the additional strains of romance, Beths terminal illness, the pressures of marriage and the outside world. At beginning of the book, I think Scarlet was a beautiful, lucky woman. So many young men were in love with her and they always stayed around her. But in fact ,Scarlet was not the lucky woman I thought . She was fell in love with Ashley Wilkes, but the man was not like the other boys around her. when then news came that Ashley would be married with Melanie ,she felt surprised and even couldn’t accept the fact. With the psychology of revenging Ashley, Scarlett married to Melanie’s brother before the day of Ashley’wedding.

Soon after the war broke out , many young man died ,including Scarlett’s husband. Scarlett became a widow. She couldn’t stand the boring life, so when Melanie invited her to the home of Charles’s aunt. Without more consideration ,Scarlett left for Atlanta.

One time hospital hold a party to collect contributions. Then at the party ,she met Rhett buther, the man who loves her at first sight. Hopefully she wanted her parent’s help. But to her surprise, her mum had died and her father was out of normal. Situation have became more difficult. While Melanie was going to give birth to a baby. Scarlet made her mind on taking on the task. In order to keep living ,Scarlett even went to work on farm ,she planted cotton. Melanie was in poor health, but she still went to help Scarlett to do farm work. She believed Scalett and gave her unselfish love. With Menlanie’s love,Scarlett supported her home,but at this time ,she still didn’t realize how important Melanie for her. In order to solve the problem of the Tara plantation,she married to Frank.
