尽管如此，在近几年祖国发展的道路上并不顺利，国内相继发生南方雨雪冰冻、汶川大地震和国际金融危机以及甲型流感的蔓延等天灾人 祸然而灾难没有摧垮中国人民的意志，反而让所有中国人民更加团结和坚强。国内经济继续保持平稳较快发展，各项社会事业稳步向前推进。这让每一个中国人更能深刻感受到祖国的强大，祖国的温暖。
