表姐是我的免费导游。第二天一大早，表姐就把我从梦中叫醒。表姐告诉我，今天社区里要举行升旗仪式，请我一定要参加。我蓦然想到，不知不觉在美国呆了一个多月了，我们伟大祖国的生日到了。我和表姐走出家门，社区里彩旗飘扬，很多家庭都悬挂了国旗，社区的电子公告牌上也打出了四个火红的大字——“欢度国庆”。

我们来到社区的中心广场，这里早已聚集了很多同胞，他们中有满头银发的老人，也有充满朝气的年轻人。大家身着节日盛装，表情庄严肃穆。早上七点钟，嘹亮的国歌奏响了，我们仰望着冉冉升起的五星红旗激动万分，不少离乡多年的老华侨眼里噙满了泪水。升旗仪式结束后，我们在社区乐队的伴奏下，大家一起高唱《我的祖国》，歌声回荡在旧金山的上空。

一位白发老人激动地说：“对于在海外生活的华人华侨，祖国有着更为特殊的情感意义。无论在海外是喜是悲，祖国总与我们站在一起，中华民族以前所未有的强盛屹立于世界民族之林，祖国的强大永远是我们海外游子的坚强后盾。”接下来华人社区的居民组成了巡游队伍，队伍从中心广场出发，途经湾区六个街区，最后返回广场。一路上大家敲锣打鼓，喜气洋洋。走在队伍最前面的是一条长约二十五米舞动的金色巨龙，象征着我们是龙的传人，中国国运昌隆，欣欣向荣。巡游队伍中还有六头“狮子”助兴，狮头上挂着八个铜铃铛，全身披金色狮毛，眼帘和嘴都可以动，舞狮人扑、翻、转、腾、滚、跳，动作熟练灵活，吸引了很多路人的目光，一些老美不由得竖起大拇指啧啧称赞。 祖国的繁荣富强时时刻刻牵动着海外游子的心，当我在大洋彼岸与同胞们共同度过这个难忘的国庆时，我的心里由衷地为祖国的强大而感到自豪。
