Whenever I remember my grade school days, I tend to be wistful over. Though no more are those days, I will never forget now wonderful they were. I was efree in my school days and all the year round I lived happily. I was not a hardworking pupil. Every day I directed my attention not to study but to how to out to how to cut classes and class leader as I was. I did not act like one; instead, I even encouraged others to cut classes, too. of course. I was caught out and severely punished. Often in preparing for a test we pupils would work together to devise ways of cheating in the test room. Though I was poor at cheating in any test. I never gave up but would again and again, hoping t way I would get high marks. With the passage of time I have gradually cast off those bad habits I once had always feel embarrassed each time I think of my foolish behavior in 1the past, I owe what I am to all my teachers. I remember it like yesterday.We were all waiting patiently for my father to come home from the race track.He promised me and my sister that if he won,he would take us all to Rye Playland.

The minutes felt like hours.It was the longest hour of my life.Then finally we heard the car door shut.Me and my sister ran to the front door anxiously waiting for the news.He opened the door and walked in.We tried to read the expression on his face but of course he was looking down while taking his sneakers off.

The suspense was killing us.Then he looked up.No words were spoken between us and our father.He just gave us a blank stare.I didnt know what to think.I was scared to ask because I was so worried of the response.

My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is

rich in fish and rice.

But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had

no work. They lived a hard life.

In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken

place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals,

cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is

greatly improved.

I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard

so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

A memorable event in the road I was growing up, there is one thing to make menever forget. Gone through that matter, I seem to grow up a lot. That was New Years Eve last year; the students send each other greeting cards. Cards with their own wishes and sent to good friends. Communication is common and important in our daily life. All of us live

with others in the society and no one can live cut off from it. Everyday, we

must talk to others to give and get information, but how can we communicate with
