I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

我的同桌是一个看起来挺温柔的小女生，但经过一段时间的相处，我发现她简直就像一颗随时都会爆炸并且威力无比的“定时炸弹”。

她非常多变，通常情况下总是一会儿开心，一会儿悲痛欲绝，过一会儿又可能勃然大怒，她那多变的性格有时真的让人啼笑皆非……

星期一上午的第一节课，我根本听不到老师讲的是什么，因为同桌就像一位口才超强的演讲家，不停地讲着她擅长的冷笑话，我在心中暗暗叫苦：喂！喂！闭嘴，别讲了。就在我素手无策的关键时刻，老师忽然点到了她的名字让她起立呢！结果她因不会回答老师提出的问题，而被老师罚抄课文了。

第二节课，她就像变脸王似的由晴转阴……刚刚开始上课，她就耷拉着脸，脸上却是一副悲痛欲绝的表情，然后像是念经似的埋怨我：“你为什么要让我给你讲笑话，为什么要我给你讲那么多笑话？为什么……为什么……”面对同桌的不知悔改和无休止的无理取闹，我终于忍无可忍，心中燃烧起了熊熊怒火：“你在逗我吗？我始终一句话都没说，你发得什么神经？”当她发现我真的有点生气时，总算有了些许收敛，平安度过了第二节课。

第二节下课后，又经过了一个大课间，令人意想不到的是她居然又由悲伤升级到了愤怒：“都是你，才导致老师罚我的，你来把老师罚我的课文也抄一遍。”“拜托，如果不是你在讲笑话那也不会罚你，为什么让我抄？”我理直气壮的反驳着她，她也深感无趣地不再说话了！

我的同桌就是这样让人难以理解，你们谁能搞得懂我的同桌啊？真希望有一天，她能够严格地约束自己而不是总去抱怨别人。

秋天，无论什么地方的秋天都是美的，我却觉得家乡的秋天永远最美。

家乡迎来了秋天，一片片黄叶犹如蝴蝶般落了下来，一朵朵菊花幸福的开放，散发出诱人的香气，引来了许多蜜蜂。

家乡的秋天是令人喜悦的，因为所有的庄稼都丰收了，农民伯伯沉浸在丰收的喜悦中，开心极了。麦地一片翠绿，给田野穿上了一件绿油油的衣裳。

舅舅家的村子里，元宵节的时候，有个习俗就是舞龙灯。那时他们的龙灯称为板凳龙，是由很多很多的花灯固定在一块块宽宽的板上面，然后一块连接一块，作为龙身子，加上龙头和龙尾，就组成了一条长长的美丽的板凳龙。

到了元宵节前，家家户户都在家里设计制作花灯。长的板凳龙，有好几百节组成呢，各种各样美丽的花灯，浩浩荡荡的，场面可壮观了。

外公在世的时候就自己制作过龙灯。先挑选很粗的木头锯成一块块宽宽的木板，在木板的两头打上用于串联其他龙灯的孔。其次设计花灯的形状，用竹篾制作花灯的模型，买来各种彩纸糊在模型上，一盏美丽的龙灯就这么做成了。然后把这美丽的龙灯固定在这块宽宽的木板上，然后等除夕一过，在大家商定好的某个日子，各家各户把制作好的龙灯从家里抗出来，在操场上集中排队，比比谁家的龙灯设计最奇特，看看谁家的龙灯糊得最漂亮，把所有的龙灯首尾相连，一条美丽的板凳龙就这么诞生了。当然，一条板凳龙最重要的是龙头，龙头的形状也是不同的，有仰龙，有卧龙。而舅舅村子里的板凳龙的龙头是仰头式的，一般会由好几户人家一起合作制作而成的，而且摆放在固定的位置，龙头前会供奉一些水果啥的，看上去比较神圣的。

妈妈说，以前舞龙灯，是为了祈求风调雨顺，让农民伯伯们在新的一年里有个好收成。现在舞龙灯，是为了丰富大家的业余生活，活跃元宵的喜庆气氛，图的就是开心快乐。

“青春”是我们释放自己的最好写照，“年少”是我们释放自己的最好理由。因为正值花季，校园里的花正开得芬芳。时光让我们渐渐褪去了几分青稚，多了几分成熟。我们对知识的渴求正如那含苞待放的花骨朵对露珠的渴望一样。于是，开始懂得奋斗，希望能够做一个更好的自己，这样才不会辜负明天。日月交替，花谢花开。校园见证着我们的成长，我们已经用青春的脚步在校园中留下了足迹。 偶尔碰到廖老师，打一声招呼，这时就会想起了种种往事。现在想想，我们已经成长了很多。三年里，我们欢呼，我们歌唱，我们跋涉，我们耕耘，我们付出了汗水，收获了希望。这时候，才发觉，校园中我们的青春之花，在这个季节已悄然绽开。

9年前，当你呱呱落地时，妈妈一看你还是个男孩儿，并没有显得多么高兴，倒是希望你是个女孩子更好，妈妈说过生第二个孩子一定要是个女孩子，女孩子温柔漂亮，也好打扮，穿什么衣服都淑女,在你没有出生前，妈妈就每天摸着肚子和你说话，好听的胎名都是女孩子的，从来没有想到出生的你还会是个男孩子!不过，我的反常举动被你的可爱漂亮给打动了，你长着大大的眼睛，长长的睫毛，好看的弯弯眉毛，漂亮的脸蛋，外表简直和女孩子没有两样，抱出来上街，人家问妈妈：“你家女儿真漂亮!”妈妈会骄傲地说：“我家的是儿子!”“哟，这么漂亮啊!来，给我抱抱，真漂亮的孩子!”那时候妈妈心里真像吃了蜜一样甜呢!也因为你长得像女孩子一样漂亮，爸爸和哥哥很喜欢你，特别是你爸爸看到你总会笑得合不拢嘴。我们就给你起个“乐乐”的昵称，因为咱们一家人看到你就很乐啊!

在我们家里，因为你长得漂亮可爱，每天你爸爸总爱抱着你，你哭闹的时候也是你爸爸抱着哄着，就连你哥哥也爱抱着你，一抱着你他就不想练琴了;晚上睡觉的时候，爸爸和哥哥总爱站在床前盯着你看，看着胖乎乎、漂亮可爱的你，总是长时间逗着你玩，那时候的你虽然还不懂事，但是你在咱们家里是多么的幸福啊!就连妈妈也是倾其所爱，每天总爱用嗲嗲的声音叫着：“小乐乐，小乖乖。”就连你爸爸和哥哥也爱学着我的腔调叫，那真是含在嘴里怕化了，捧在手里怕摔了。

乐乐乖儿子，你知道吗?你现在长大了，妈妈多么希望你还是和小时候那样又乖又可爱，可是你一长大就变样了，你很伤妈妈的心，你有几点做的不够好：虽然这段时间你在妈妈的帮助下学乖了，知道写作业快了，不用我再催你了，但是你为了图作业快点做完，把字写的不太好，妈妈非常不高兴!不管什么作业，不管是在家还是在学校，妈妈希望你把字写好，写工整，这是一个学生起码的责任。还有你还是在上卫生间的时候，长时间在里面看课外书不出来，妈妈叫你，你总会说：“嗯，出来了，马上出来了!”可是妈妈就是不见你出来，妈妈真的很生气!值得表扬的是：自从期中考试过后，你真的是进步了，作业不拖拉，错题少多了，每天课堂上不管哪门课你举手回答问题很多，得的小红星也很多，妈妈真的为你的进步高兴;还有在你写完作业的时候，自己知道去练琴了，把哥哥教你学的几首练习曲子自己也弹会了，还把哥哥给你布置预习的《哈农》练写指法也弹会了，你真的好棒!乖儿子，妈妈希望你的缺点改正，你的优点继续发扬下去，你就是一个更棒的好孩子了。

在这里妈妈想把你小时候叫的很嗲嗲的昵称再叫一遍：“小乐乐，小乖乖!”呵呵，乖儿子，妈妈就和你说这么多，你在妈妈心中永远都是最可爱最棒的，还和小时候一样，你还是妈妈手心里的宝哦!
