In my early years, I did not see the value of education.

When I was going on thirteen, I started to run my own shop. From then on, I worked hard to become a successful businessman.

One day I realized the importance of the English language in the business world and started taking night classes.

I was able to communicate well with foreign customers after two years of English study. But I started to feel that, in the long run, having a limited knowledge of English was not enough to make my business successful. I knew that only a well- rounded education could guarantee my success in the future.

When I was eighteen, I had to make a decision to continue doing business or go back to school. There was one obstacle keeping me from getting an advanced education. I had only completed elementary school up to that point. I then went back to senior high school after four months of tutoring in different subjects. Being at school for the first time after so many years was somewhat embarrassing because my classmates were at least two or three years younger than I. I concluded that my age did not matter. The important thing was getting into college.

I took the College Entrance Exams. Although my math exam result was only one point below the required score. I never gave up hope. The following year, I took it again and received the highest score in my city. Achieving such an amazing result gave me encouragement and courage necessary to continue my education to the next step.

I am now in my second year of college and know that it is never too late to learn. My passion for studying and improving myself will never come to a halt as long as I continue to live.

Travels on Holiday China

Nowadays, more and more people like to travel in their holidays. The other day I read a report about the ways people spend their holidays. It is reported that in recent years several new holiday habits have been developed. Among them, the most interesting one is the growth of the so-called holiday camps.

Why did those changes appearI think there are several reasons. First, it s because people can afford traveling. Second, people prefer to pursue a high-quality and colorful life. Third, their attitudes to relaxation have changed. Less people want to save much money by leading a simple life. In short, peoples living standard today has been rising greatly. People travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. For me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.

人们去旅游有的乘飞机、有的坐火车、坐船、乘公共汽车。对我来说在暑假，最好的方式是徒步旅行。 My preference depends on the purpose of the travel. On a summer vacation I travel to refresh myself and to see the countryside. When I use my feet and walk on a grass covered path along a river or among the hills I feel detached from the noise of the city and closer to the nature. And when I travel on foot I get more freedom. I can plan my own schedule. I can choose my own route. I can stop where I like. And I can see things and people that I might miss if I travel on a train or on a bus.

It’s also not bad to travel by train. Enjoy the scenery out of the train on the way, just look around here and there , maybe you can get some new friends in this narrow but long carriage. Certainly you’d better choose the different path when you return back from the place of interest so that you can make your eyes full of the landscape of interest on the way and never need to revisit the once familiar place. How far-flung and galland the rivers and mountains in our homeland are! There are still too many places we can go.

Advantages of Travel By traveling we can enjoy the beautiful scenery in different places. We will see with our own eyes many places read of in books, and visit some famous cities and scenic spots. We will meet people with different interests and see strange and different things when we travel. We can get ideas of the conditions and customs of other people, taste different foods and special local flavour if we like. In this way, we can understand how differently other people live.

四十六亿年前，地球诞生了，到了现在，地球算是步入中年了吧，可惜近年来体弱多病。

现在看我们的城市，随处可见斑驳的柏油马路，不是以改造管道就是以修路等等理由把马路挖开，街上行走的人们，有的戴着帽子，有的戴着口罩，头也不抬地匆匆赶路。有时稍有些风，就会夹带着沙尘钻进我的眼中，硌得眼睛十分难受，眼泪直流，我无可奈何，只好用手搓揉着眼睛，空中不时卷起一片片黄色的“尘雾”。马路上飞奔着的各式各样的车辆，身上都盖上了一层灰蒙蒙的“沙罩”，就像刚从硝烟弥漫的战场上回来的战车，远处的建筑物时隐时现，朦朦胧胧，好像笼罩在一片障气之中。

有些人随意地砍伐树木，污染水资源，任意捕杀动物，许多动物惨遭灭绝，造成大自然生态的极不平衡，汽车排放大量有害气体，已造成人类生存环境的恶化。

听爸爸说，地球表面有百分之七十一的海洋，海水约占地球水资源的百分之九十七，陆地水只占百分之三，可以供人类饮用的水还不足地球水的百分之零点三，人们却还在污染水资源。这令人震惊的严峻现实和种种历史教训，怎能不引起大家的认真思考呢？

环境保护从我做起，从现在做起，让我们为还地球蓝天白云、爱护地球，而行动起来吧！

Earth Hour is an activity proposed by WWF to cope with global climate change, hoping that individuals, communities, businesses and governments turn off lights from 20:30 to 21:30 on the last Saturday of March each year, to show their support to action on climate change. Many citizens consciously turn off lights in the hour and they go out for a walk or some friends gather together to have fun. In college, students will hold some activities to attract students out of dormitory. Earth Hour has variety of activities, but the ultimate goal is the same, that is focusing on climate change and protecting the environment for individuals.

地球能满足人类的需求，但满足不了人类的贪婪!人类在破坏地球的同时，也在毁灭自己赖以生存的家园。地球只有一个，我们无法搬离地球，去别的星球上居住。

地球是我们赖以生存的家园，只因为经济利益的驱使，就不顾后果的开采和滥用地球资源，不遵守自然规则，破坏生态平衡，那么结果只有一个：那就是受到大自然的惩罚。所以，我们要保护生存环境，那样万物才能共同生存在一个美好的家园。

我们不但要自已做到，而且还得以自己的力量来提倡身边的人们不猎杀、不食用珍稀动物和受保护的动物，爱护、关心野生的动植物;植树造林，爱护我们身边的每一寸土地，每一株花草，每一棵树木。现在，我们部分地方已经做起了“分类回收循环再用”的活动项目，我们不能乱丢弃废电池、废塑料等垃圾、废物，应该要把垃圾分类投放，变废为宝，使资源循环再生、造福人类。

如今，创卫口号喊得响响的，可这些不文明的举动常常出现在我们眼前。希望人们能够爱护环境，保护地球，让地球母亲焕发年轻美丽的容貌!

那么草为什么会消失呢？为什么一望无际的草原会变成荒无人烟的沙漠呢？一切的罪魁祸首都是我们人类。人类无休止的制造垃圾，产生污染，导致地球上的生物链失去平衡。人们一人丢一节废旧电池，世界就将寸草不生。如果每人扔掉一块面包，它很快就会发霉，最后引来一群飞虫，对周围环境进行破坏。

二十一世纪的今天，PM2。5的雾霭天气持续不散，生活中的温室效应不见好转，日益扩建，冰川在融化，地震在发生，每年横扫北京的沙尘暴肆虐横行，南极上空的臭氧层空洞在变大，土地沙漠化日益严重，每天都有小河断流，水资源日渐枯竭等等等等，生活的警钟每天向我们敲响，不禁让我们警醒，不知这样下去，地球还会有多长时间足够我们挥霍，因此环保现已与生命，紧密相连。

既然我们选择了地球，地球有又选择了我们，我们就应该好好地爱护她。让我们继千年之前的祖先，为我们的生活、生命，为我们的子孙后代，携手努力，营造一个美丽和谐的家园吧！

Plants and trees is human natural oxygen "manufacturer". But the deforestation, the destruction of the ecological balance of nature; Sand dunes to gobble up the fertile land, white; Floods can be our lovely home. Relentless stuff we clear the river becomes cloudy. Dense forests become sparse clutter, the blue sky become dark, green mountains become bald. Mud-rock flow, dust storm, flood... These disasters are caused by a dirty environment. So we should protect the environment.

How to protect the environment? First of all, cant litter, saw rubbish pick up, is the environment become clean and beautiful. Second, do not arbitrarily trample flowers and plants trees. To plant trees, a variety of flowers and plants.

Electricity, bring us all kinds of convenience, especially gives us light, lit up the colorful world. But we want to save electricity, because electricity is mostly produced by burning coal. Save electricity is to save from coal, less waste, and only enough storage of coal mining in our country in one hundred years! We think, more than one hundred years later, our children and grandchildren to do? So we should save electricity, the usual lamp, use energy-saving light whenever possible.

Protect the environment, everyone duty. Lets start from me, start from now, start from the side of dribs and drabs.

如何才能保护环境呢?首先，不能乱扔垃圾，看到垃圾就捡，是环境变得整洁优美。其次，不要任意践踏花草树木。要多植树，多种花草。

电，给我们带来各种便利，特别是给我们带来了光明，照亮了五彩缤纷的世界。但是我们要节约用电，因为电大多是烧煤产生的。节约用电就是节约用煤，少排废气，而在我国储藏的煤只够开采一百多年了!大家想想，一百多年以后，我们的子孙后代该怎么办?所以我们要节约用电，平时的照明灯，尽可能用节能灯。

保护环境，人人有责。让我们从我做起，从现在做起，从身边的点点滴滴做起。
