世界地球日活动起源于美国。1969年，美国民主党参议员盖洛德?尼尔森提议，在全国各大学校园内举办环保问题讲演会。当时25岁得哈佛大学法学院学生丹尼斯?海斯很快就将尼尔森的提议变成了一个在全美各地展开大规模社区性活动的具体构想，并得到很多青年学生的普遍支持。1970年4月22日，美国首次举行了声势浩大的“地球日”活动。这是人类有史以来第一次规模宏大的群众性环境保护运动。作为人类现代环保运动的开端，“地球日’活动推动了多个国家环境法规的建立。

湛蓝的天空，清新的空气，潺潺的小溪，葱郁的树木......这是我们从前美丽的家园。

然而，随着科技的突飞猛进，我们身边的环境却越来越糟糕，地球母亲已经变得伤痕累累。湛蓝的天空被工厂排放出的气体染成了黑色，太阳被这黑色气体所掩盖;清澈的河道被人们当成了垃圾回收站，造成了水生物的大量死亡;忘关紧的水龙头，让水资源白白流失;人们乱丢弃废电池，给大地带来了灾难;洪水、沙尘暴等自然灾害都是人们随意破坏绿色植被造成的......此时，我仿佛听到了鱼儿的哭泣、大地的诉说，花草树木的唾骂。地球虽是无私的，但她不是任人蹂躏的。

地球能满足人类的需求，但满足不了人类的贪婪!人类在破坏地球的同时，也在毁灭自己赖以生存的家园。地球只有一个，我们无法搬离地球，去别的星球上居住。

地球是我们赖以生存的家园，只因为经济利益的驱使，就不顾后果的开采和滥用地球资源，不遵守自然规则，破坏生态平衡，那么结果只有一个：那就是受到大自然的惩罚。所以，我们要保护生存环境，那样万物才能共同生存在一个美好的家园。

我们不但要自已做到，而且还得以自己的力量来提倡身边的人们不猎杀、不食用珍稀动物和受保护的动物，爱护、关心野生的动植物;植树造林，爱护我们身边的每一寸土地，每一株花草，每一棵树木。现在，我们部分地方已经做起了“分类回收循环再用”的活动项目，我们不能乱丢弃废电池、废塑料等垃圾、废物，应该要把垃圾分类投放，变废为宝，使资源循环再生、造福人类。

如今，创卫口号喊得响响的，可这些不文明的举动常常出现在我们眼前。希望人们能够爱护环境，保护地球，让地球母亲焕发年轻美丽的容貌!

特别是英美日等发达国家为了自身私利，因工业有害粉尘、化学烟雾、二氧化硫、煤烟烟雾、含汞污水、炼油废气、糠油中毒及含镉污水而造成的世界八大著名公害事件，破坏了地球周围的大气层。让清澈的河水变得浑浊，茂密的森林狼狈不堪，蔚蓝的天空一下子灰暗了起来，碧绿的青山变得光秃秃的。随后泥石流、森林火灾、动物绝迹、水源严重缺乏等自然灾难又接踵而来，要是再这么下去，我们面对的现实只能是地球毁灭。爱护地球妈妈是我们义不容辞的责任，不愿让地球毁灭的人们开始行动起来吧！我们应从现在开始，从自己做起，从小事做起。“勿以善小而不为”，想必大家都明白。

保护地球是从点点滴滴的小事做起，拾起一节旧电池、回收一件旧废品、拒绝使用超薄塑料袋等等，如果每个人都能够做到的话，世界的环境必大有改观。如果你已经做到了，这意味着你已经对保护地球做出了一定的贡献；如果你尚未做到，那么从现在开始坚持做下去，慢慢的，你就会发现，你所做的一切都产生了奇妙的效果。

今天，老师给我们上了一课叫保护地球，老师告诉我们要保护地球妈妈，如今地球妈妈的头发已经不像从前一样茂盛了，她的双眼不像从前那样亮，她的衣服破破烂烂的不像以前一样美丽了。我听了老师的一番话之后，脑海里浮出了八个字“保护地球，人人有责”。下午放学回到家中，我把今天老师讲到了的内容告诉妈妈，我还对她说了小小的要求，就是带我去山上植树。

燕子的故乡是个美丽的小山村，蓝蓝的天，白白的云，清清的河，绿绿的草。可是，今年两只燕子惊讶的发现小村庄变得又脏又臭，满天的乌云将太阳都挡住了啊。

一只燕子来到河边对着鱼儿说：“这是怎么回事啊！”鱼儿告诉燕子：“人们将垃圾和污水排到我们的家园里，它的污染力好强啊！这不，你看，我就快一命呜呼了。”

另一只燕子费力的飞上天空，冲出乌云找到了太阳公公。太阳公公告诉小燕子：“人们放出的有害乌烟，使得工厂上空的天空变成了灰色，破坏了植物的正常生长，你们的家园已经不再适合你们居住了！”。

两只燕子低垂着脑袋依依不舍离开了养育了它们的家园，去远方寻找适合居住的环境去了。太阳公公嘱咐小燕子：“请你们转告人类要保护环境，珍爱地球，将青山、碧水、蓝天还给美丽的大自然吧！”。

人们到处砍伐树木，现在全世界平均一年砍掉1100万公顷森林，这是一个多么大的数字啊!人们还随手丢垃圾，那发臭的河面上漂浮着垃圾、那肮脏的树枝上挂着塑料袋、那黑黑的草地上堆着果皮和纸屑。环境遭到了很大的破坏，清清的小河、绿绿的森林、蓝蓝的天空都消失的无影无踪了，地球渐渐被毁灭，人类也渐渐死亡。

原来，地球有着清澈的小河，绿绿的森林，蓝蓝的天空。古代，有多少诗人赞美过地球美丽的环境啊!人类既是环境灾难的制造者，也是环境灾难的受害者，更应是环境灾难的预防者。我们要从自己做起，从小做起，携起手来，共同保护环境，保护我们的家园。为我们的孩子们留下碧水、森林、蓝天。
