The author started this story by Black Beauty describing his memory about his happy childhood, when he was accompanied by his mother and taught to be a good horse. At the age of 2, Black Beauty witnessed an accident of hunting for a hare, which caused the rider falling from the horse, dead. Later that wounded horse was killed. And at the age of 4, Black Beauty was old enough to begin the use of saddle, bridle, carriage harness and shoes. Then he was sent to Birtwick Park and named of Black Beauty by Mrs. Gordon. Birtwick Park became his first pleasant home for three years, where he grew strong and met many friends with different characteristics and experiences. One of his friends was Ginger, who was ill-tempered because of a hard life with previous owners. And as a result, Ginger often got wild and bit others. Sir Oliver got a shortened tail because his previous owner thought it was fashionable. Also, there was a groom, little Joe Green. At first, he was too young to know how to properly how to take care of the hot and tired Black Beauty after an emergency, making Black Beauty seriously sick. Grieved, Joe began to do his best to learn hors care. However, soon, the Gorgons had to move because of Mrs. Gordon’s health, so they sold Black Beauty and Ginger to Earlshall Park.

This time, Black Beauty was lucky to have a kind-hearted new owner; a cab driver in London called Jerry. What’s more, Jerry’s families were all kind-hearted, which made Black Beauty happy to bear the hard work of pulling a cab every day. By chance, he met Ginger. She was mistreated as a cab horse; in such a great pain that she was longing for death. And soon, it came true. At the same time, Jerry became weaker and weaker, and finally he was ill in bed after waiting for two customers on a bitter cold night. After his recovery, Jerry was told not to work as s cab driver any more, so Black Beauty was sold again.

Black Beauty’s new owner, a corn dealer, was kind to him, but the dealer’s foreman, Jakes, often overworked the horse and used the bearing rein. After reading this book, one may admire Black Beauty’s strong will, persistence, and loyalty, or feel sympathetic on him and feel happy for him to get a happy ending. However, it needs our deeper thinking, a much deeper thinking. In fact, Sewell doesn’t only focus on showing Black Beauty’s great characteristics. By telling Black Beauty’s whole life story, she aimed at revealing the hard life of animals at that time and altering us the crime of those who abuse animals.

From Beauty’s suffering during his whole life time, we can see the tragic life of animals at that time. Some people ran after the so-called fashion blindly. In order to satisfy their own vanity，they ignored animals’ great pain. For example, Sir Oliver’s shortened tail. What the so-called fashion gave animals is great pain rather than a beautiful appearance. Some people knew nothing about how to keep animals, and were always making them work all day long. They abused the animals to make as much money as possible until they died. Therefore, on the day when the animals died, their holiday was on the way. Although the reality is cruel for almost every character in the fiction, the positive side of humanity and love is always bright.

When I first read The Little Prince, I can’t understand the mean of love and never to think why should the little prince leave alone since he love his rose so deeply. He leaved his planet because he can not accept the rose and himself.

So they all take the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. On the way to the Emerald City they met some difficulties, but they solved them successfully. After they met the Wizard of Oz, the wizard gave them another challenge—to kill the bad Witch of the West and they accept. During the way to the Witch of the West’s house, they were caught by the witch and Dorothy was requested to work for her. One day, when the witch tried to catch Dorothy’s red shoes, Dorothy threw some water on the witch by accident and the Witch of the West disappeared. Only water can kill her. So Dorothy went back to the Emerald City with her friends but they found the Wizard of Oz is not a real wizard, he is also a man came from Kansas, and he is just a conjurer. He wanted to go back to Kansas too. So he made a big balloon and prepared to go. But when the balloon is going to raise, Dorothy’s dog Toto jumped away to run after a cat, so Dorothy had to get Toto back and they were left in Oz. Then Dorothy and Toto went and find the Witch of the South and the witch told them they can just use the red shoes on Dorothy’s feet, they’re a pair of magic shoes, they could take anybody go back to their home as soon as she said‘East, west—home is the best!’After Dorothy said goodbye to her friends, she went back to her new home with her dog. It’s really a wonderful risk.

Yes, no matter where we are, home is always the best place for us to rest or study. There are our parents here; there are also our favorite things here. At home, we feel safe, we feel comfortable, and we can relax ourselves.

From this story, we can see Dorothy is a brave and kind-hearted girl. She killed the two bad witches in Oz; she helped the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion to go to the Emerald City to find the Wizard and get what they want. She solved problems when they met difficulties. It’s really not easy for such a little girl.

We also learn that teamwork is important for us. When we are in trouble, we can ask our friends for help, and also, when our friends need help, we should go and help them. Just remember, more people, more power. It’s always better has more people to do a thing. Teamwork is really necessary in our lives.

And we can see the Scarecrow is absolutely cleaver, he understands things, he can think, he learn quickly, and he suggested Dorothy to cut down a tree to cross the river. The tin man has a kind heart, he laughs, he cries, he loves, he feels sorry for people. The Cowardly Lion is really brave, he did a lot of brave things, he carried the friends to go across the river, and he wanted to find some food for his friends and so on. We should learn from them too. When we are in trouble, we should calm down, watch the things around carefully, and try to think out of a way to solve it, just like the Scarecrow. We also should be brave as we are in danger, we can’t be afraid, we should face the difficulty and try to go through it, just like the Cowardly Lion. And we should learn to love people, to feel sorry for people, to make more friends, to get on well with everyone around us, just like the Tin Man.

Yes, we should learn how to get on with other people, we should help each other, we should be brave, we should love other people. If we can do like this, we can be a better girl (boy), more and more people will make friends with us, and more and more people will like us!

Love seems to be the perpetual theme all over the world. But actually what is love? For most girls in 20s, love may mean everything to them. They seek for love bravely no matter what difficulties they may face. In their eyes, love is pure or even holy. However, those are just an ideal situation, n real life; people tend to find a balance between love and property.

Pride and prejudice is Austin’s great work. Through the discussion of the different marriages and love, the writer demonstrates her concept about love and marriage: love and marriage is closely associated with property and society, however, love and marriage can not only be decided by the property and social status. An ideal marriage should be based on mutual affection, respect and the same interest. She rejects the marriage based only on wealth.

Different people have different ideas upon marriage. By the description and discussion of the four marriages in the novel, we can see that Austen fully expresses her views on love and marriage. Only by appreciating the marriage founded on the basis of mutual understanding and true love, but also by satirizing the marriage founded on the basis of origin and desire.

The marriage based on social position and money can’t bring happiness in life. Aimless marriage and love are unpractical.

Everything goes wrong for poor couples. Marriage based on wealth is not a fault. At least, it can offer us a better condition of life. Property is not everything in the life but without it, we can do nothing. This is called reality. But if you only married for wealth, you sell your liberty. The rest of your life might be miserable, and your marriage will filled with endless bitterness.

本学期，我将结合学校工作计划和学校教学工作计划的要求，规范常规教学，提高教学质量，努力形成自己的教学特色。

一、总体思路

以努力提高教学质量为目标，以抓好教学常规工作，提高英语合格率为重点，采用任务型教学法，注重“学困生”的教育补差工作，形成良好的教学风气。

二、学生情况分析

经过一学期的学习，从上期期末成绩来看，七年级两个班的英语成绩比较理想。平均分82分。大部分学生学习目的明确，态度端正，掌握了英语学习的一些基本方法，能够积极主动认真地学习，学习成绩较好。但还有少部分学生没有明确的学习目的，缺少学习的热情和主动性，自觉性较差，相应的学习习惯也差，加上两极分化十分严重。

三、教材分析

《Goforit》七年级下册共14个单元，包括2个复习单元。全书采用任务型语言教学模式，融汇话题、交际功能和语言结构，形成了一套循序渐进的生活化的学习程序。每个单元都列出明确的语言目标，主要的功能项目与语法结构，需要掌握的基本词汇，并分为A、B两部分。A部分是基本的语言内容，B部分是知识的扩展和综合的语言运用。每个单元还有selfcheck部分，供学生自我检测本单元所学的语言知识。它采用“语言的输入---学生的消化吸收---学生的语言输出”为主线编排的。

四、教学目标

掌握本册书上的重点词汇、词组以及句型。通过本学期的学习，培养学生对英语的学习兴趣，形成有效的学习策略，有效提高学习效率，发展双基能力;培养听、说、读、写的能力，使学生初步获得运用英语的能力，达到语言运用能力的迁移和拓展;通过了解世界，了解不同地区的人文风俗，学会理解和尊重异国文化，并使学生在人际交往中学会尊重和理解别人，能在小组活动中积极与他人合作，相互帮助，共同完成学习任务，尽情享受学习的乐趣。

五、教学措施

1、加强词汇教学，包括单词拼写、词义记忆，语言功能的训练。

词汇是文章、句子的基本单位，词汇量的大小，将直接关系到学生能否流利地运用英语进行交际;能否熟练地用英语读和写;能否顺利地用英语思考。从上学期的期末考试所反映的问题看，在今后的教学中，在加强拼读与拼写的同时，应帮助学生进行有意识记，应加强对词的用法及内在含义的理解，要培养学生用英语解释单词的能力，逐步启发引导学生用英语思考。单词教学一定要做到词不离句，这样，学生在学会了单词的同时，也学会了词的一些基本用法。

2、每天背诵课文中的对话，培养语感。

3、基本的语法教学一定要与语境相结合。

进行语法操练时，要坚持“四位一体”，即话题、语境、结构、功能相结合。抓住话题，联系语境，确定语法结构，明确语法功能(交际功能)。要重视语法知识对于培养语言运用功能的基础作用，又要注重改革教法。课堂上一定要有生动活泼的教学活动。

4、进一步培养阅读能力和写作能力。

阅读和写作能力的培养是英语教学的又一重点。阅读和写作能力的培养在于平时。教师在平时讲解阅读理解题时，应着力帮助学生分析语言材料，而不是核对答案;平常应该多写作文。

5、做好学困生转化和优秀生培养工作。

措施：用新的教学理念指导英语阅读教学，进一步改变教法和学法，培养学生对英语阅读的兴趣，提高学生的英语阅读能力，提高英语教学效果。

1、尝试通过各种形式的学习，例如复述课文、把课文改编成情景剧、阅读竞赛等活动，提高学生学习英语的兴趣，从而达到自主积累、综合运用英语的目的，并指导学生运用科学的方法记忆单词、阅读课文，取得事半功倍的效果。

2、通过信息技术与学科整合的手段，以课内为基础，增加课外阅读的量，指导学生借助信息手段和工具书理解文章基本内容的方法，提高学生的英语自学能力。

" ’gone with the wind’ is absolutely a good book that is worth sampling repeatedly, the characters are graceful , the plot rises and falls, exciting boldly and uncon strainedly, though the subjective factor because of the author among them , the appraisal on u.s.a.’s civil war is not objective and overall, but as to angle of literature, this one fine piece of writing generation definitely absolutely, worth visiting.

despite i’ve not in my childhood yet, i still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. the tales, which accompany with me in my old days, often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. this summer i’ve review this kind of tale, which was published in 1940. it’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the french author, antoine de st-exupery, the little prince.

as many other fairy-tales, the outline of the little prince is not very complex. “i”, the narrator of the story, is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the sahara. in this occasion, the pilot makes the acquaintance of the little prince, a little boy from another planet, the asteroid b612. the little prince has escaped from his tiny planet, because he has some quarrel with a rose, which grows on his planet. in that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.

我读过许多名著，但《西游记》是我最喜欢读的，它是一本神话故事，也是四大名著之一。在今年这个特殊的寒假里，我怀着好奇与期盼的心情读完了西游记两本书。

这本书讲述了唐僧师徒四人去西天取经，一路降妖伏魔，经历九九八十一难，终于到达西天见到如来佛祖，取得真经的故事。正是这精彩的故事内容让广大读者都非常喜爱它，使它成为我国四大名著之一。

书里有许多人物，每个人物都被吴承恩写的活灵活现。但我最喜欢的要数“美猴王”孙悟空了，它神通广大，本领高超，一路保护唐僧成功的去西天取得了真经，是我心目中的英雄，而且它身上的这种勇敢的精神也令我十分敬佩。

书里的故事也很有趣，我最喜欢读“车迟国斗法除三妖”这一章。在这一回中唐僧师徒西行来到车迟国，见五百僧人被道众暴力驱使，鬼哭狼嚎。悟空化为道徒，打探情况。原来这里十年前遭遇大旱，国王邀请道士与和尚分别求雨，帮助百姓度过旱灾。道士与和尚求雨斗法，结果道士赢了，当了国师，和尚们却因无法求到雨水，被国王全部监禁。但孙悟空火眼金睛一眼看出，那些能呼风唤雨的道士们竟然是妖怪。道士们在国王面前否认，正好遇见百姓来求雨，为了辨别真伪，于是国王让道士与唐僧师徒斗法。孙悟空凭借智慧，让唐僧与道士们斗法，使三道士露出真面目，原来，三个道士分别是老虎，鹿和羊变的。国王知道后哭的跟泪人一样，孙悟空劝他：“有什么好难过的，他们是妖怪，想来霸占你的国家”，国王这才止住了哭声，准备了素餐感谢唐僧师徒，并放了那些做苦力的和尚。第二天，唐僧师徒告别国王，继续西行。

唐僧师徒执着，不畏艰险，坚持不懈的精神值得我们学习。再想想自己做事总是半途而废，我不禁感到惭愧。我决心以后不论做什么事都要有始有终，持之以恒。

一场红楼缘，使花谢花飞;一场红楼梦，使花飞满天。一场散尽于天涯，一场空空如海角。

一切回到初始

看那大观园里一片如其的景色——那一树花儿，已被阳光的索取一点一点的褪去了红色的残妆。风也毫不怜惜的在柳条上乱舞，蒙蒙花絮，如一场迷离的雨，洒遍了整个大观园，洒透了的大观园里的每一处景物，留下的只有一园被风侵略过的枯枝败叶;被尘埃蒙羞了的碎瓷断瓦;被杂乱的蜘蛛网所占领的僻静角落。残渣寂寞的园院就这么人去楼空了……

红楼梦，名如此，文也如此，只不过就是在红楼中做得一场梦罢了，似真似幻。在那场梦中，以宝玉和黛玉的残缺情缘为主线，给我们展现出了一幅如痴如梦的大观园之画。描绘出了宝;玉黛玉之间肝肠寸断的纠葛情深之意;宝钗宝玉之间无可奈何地可怜联姻之事。体现出了当时昏暗的社会环境，满腔悲愤的控诉了残酷无情的封建主义和灭绝人性的婚姻制度、伦理关!系。这些令这场悲剧出现的缘由定将会走向灭亡!

我痛恨当时封建的落后导致宝、黛的姻缘尽失;我痛恨当时贾母等人的心狠，让宝玉与黛玉失去良缘;我痛恨为何一心有善的宝钗也要在宝玉、黛玉之间画上一道永不能清除的重墨。而这一切的一切，都得怪于封建主义社会的婚姻制度!什么门当户对、喜结连理，什么政治婚姻，为后着想，根本就是一面说辞罢了，只是为了体面，为了生计罢了!相比于现在要好了许多，但仍有一些大家户还是为了那些表面上虚无缥缈的利益，不惜牺牲自己下一代的终身幸福，让自己得到一切自己想得到的!

当我看到黛玉将曾与宝玉传情的手帕和她珍爱的诗稿丢弃于火盆中时，我的心被狠狠地揪住了，一边替黛玉心疼那些美好的回忆，一边又替黛玉痛恨宝玉的心狠，反正百般是痛。眼泪一直在眼眶里打转，突然它涌出，划过我冰冷的双颊，留下了一条滚烫的烙印，一滴又一滴的泪落下，砸进了我的心中，也砸痛我的心。因此我知道为何我有伤感了，因为黛玉的那句未说完整的话“宝玉!宝玉!你好……”，也因可惜她的消香玉陨，更因黛玉气绝之时便是宝玉成亲之辰，那时潇湘馆里竹梢风动，月影移墙，好不凄凉。

原以为这都是社会的孽缘，可谁知确是命运一早就安排好的戏码，让我们为姻缘前定的说法感到痛恨!就像——“侬今葬花人笑痴，他年葬侬知是谁?试看春残花渐落，便是红颜老死时。一朝春尽红颜老，花落人亡两不知!”

然而，那些让我们愤慨的结局，却被我们铭记于心：多愁善感的林黛玉，虽然有天生丽质的聪颖，但却因从小体弱多病，还终日以泪洗面，最后沦落了一个消香玉陨的结局;美丽大方的薛宝钗，虽然性格温和的惹人喜爱，但却因被卷入了贾家的纷争、破败中，最后只能含泪望天，诉说从前的回忆;通灵转世的贾宝玉，虽有通灵宝玉的守护，但却因失了黛玉而俗缘已尽，最后消失在僻静的雾中……曾经繁华一时的大观园却躲不过命运一世的束缚!

梦，该醒了。可我却不懂它是不是有不敢言说的心事，在一个似有若无的红楼午后?

玛格丽特的爱情悲剧故事就是这样的。一介弱质女流在放荡且无目的的生命中找寻到了真爱，为此放弃了自己习以为常的物质享受，放弃了一切能使自己暂时快乐的糜烂生活习惯，只为求能和最爱的人呆在一起。要从深陷的泥潭中爬出来，是要花很大的力气和决心的，况且还要使自己最小程度地被泥水污染。玛格丽特做到了，而且做的非常出色。可如此巨大的付出，换回的仍是人们的不理解和排挤，还有自私的人们的恶意中伤。巨大的阻力最终还是使玛格丽特和爱人分开了，误会使最爱的人再自己最需要安慰的时候羞辱她，这是何等痛苦的事情?也许真的只有死亡可以拯救她。是的，玛格丽特死了，孤独的死去，再也没了活着时的奢华，以前无数的情人也忘了她。生前的生活愈是轰动，死的时候就愈是冷清。

《红楼梦》原名《石头记》，这本书是穿插了石头的神话故事开启的，以贾、史、王、薛四大家族的兴衰为背景，写了贾宝玉、林黛玉和薛宝钗三人为主的爱情悲剧，将一个封建贵族家族从繁荣走向衰亡的过程一一叙说。

也许很多人看完了《红楼梦》都在不停为贾宝玉和林黛玉无法相爱相守的悲剧而痛心哀婉。或者讽刺感叹当时世俗封建的黑暗落没和家族之间的复杂与势力斗争。可有句话说：“仁者见仁，智者见智”。我却很欣赏作者写作的艺术手法和书本的艺术价值。

最具有神秘色彩的就是金陵十二钗。作者以如椽之笔，将这样一大批红粉丽人，一个个推倒了读者的眼前，让她们在大观园那座人生大舞台上尽兴地表演了一番，然后又一个个接连落幕，演绎着一幕幕动容的悲剧美。但是里面描写的少女，特别是那些不含杂质的少女的人性美感，让人产生一种又爱又恨的朦胧感情。楚楚动人又喜爱争风吃醋的林黛玉，才华横溢又有些心眼的薛宝钗，温柔体贴的袭人，狠毒敏锐也有儿女长情的凤姐......都一一展现在读者眼前。

The first time I saw the title of the film, the Joy Luck Club, I thought that it would be a film filed with joy, luck and happiness. However, out of my expectation, in the film, I saw many unpleasant thingsconflicts, hardship, disappointment, sorrow, hurt, torture etc. Of course there were some moving parts, and fortunately, it was a happy ending. Anyway, I enjoyed it very much. It made me have a penetrating thinking.

The Joy Luck Club tells about the conflicts between Chinese immigrant mothers and their American-raised daughters and their struggling to understand each other. The film shows us these topics: the misunderstanding of love between the mothers and the daughters, the clash between the generations and cultures, and the struggle for the women to fight for equity. Now I am going to show you my understanding of them, emphasizing on the first topic.

In many cases, we and those we love are easy to hurt each other because of the misunderstanding of love, the conflicts in generations and culture background, or unconsciousness.

Take Jingmei and her mother Suyuan as an example. When Suyuan demands the little Jingmei to play piano, Jingmei shouts to her mother, You can’t make me! Even Jingmei cried that she wish she isn’t Suyuan’s daughter and Suyuan isn’t her mother, and that she wishes she were the dead like the babies Suyuan abandoned in China. The sad expression on Suyuan’s face indicates that she is hurt deeply by her daughter’s innocent words.

This reminds me of my similar experience. Once I hurt my mother as Jingmei did. I didn’t mean to hurt her, but those wounding words just slip out of my mouth unconsciously. Often, we hate that why our parents don’t know my feelings, why they like to make us be something and totally unaware that what their children are. While the parents don’t know why all their sacrifices to the children can’t be paid off, even incite hatred. Actually, this is the generation gap that causes the misunderstanding. We don’t know the hardship our parents underwent before. They can’t understand what we are thinking. So misunderstandings appear.

Maybe as a child, Jingmei cannot comprehend what her remarks mean to Suyuan, and just want to show her grudge. But another main reason is the different backgrounds of Suyuan and Jingmei bare. Chinese parents always like to put all their hopes on the next generation for they are the generation full with hardship and pain. All they do just want the children to be better, but they ignore that whether their children can accept or not, not along a child born in America, influenced by the American’s individual freedom and knowing little about Chinese culture. The generation gap and culture conflict cause the misunderstanding of the mother and the daughter.

The other example is Waverly and her mother Lindo. Waverly tries her best to please Lindo in everything. Whether her mother approves or not becomes the master of all her choice. Even Waverly marries a Chinese man because Lindo likes Chinese, while she doesn’t love. Waverly doesn’t understand why Lindo disapprove or criticize whatever she has done. On the other side, Lindo thinks that her daughter is ashamed of her, which is her continual internal injury after Waverly’s winning that chess contest, when Waverly shouted to Lindo if Lindo wanted to show off, won the chest by herself. Every time, Lindo’s disagreement with or indifference to Waverly directly results from the thought that Waverly feels it shameful to be her daughter. Both of them deeply love each other, but in the meantime, they hostile and hurt one another. This is the way them get along with each other. Fortunately, they clear up their misunderstandings and discover themselves by communicating.

I am deeply moved by this scene:

Waverly Jong says to Lindo, sobbing,, You don"t know, you don"t know the power you have over me. One word from you, one look, and I"m four years old again, crying myself to sleep, because nothing I do can ever, ever please you. And after a short period of silence, Lindo smiles to Waverly with tears in her eyes, Now, you make me happy. Then they laugh heartily, teary-eyed with happiness.

Seeing the old Lindo bursts out laughing, like a child, and Waverly laughs joyfully, I sincerely feel delighted for them. Love needs communicating, understanding, and tolerance, which is what I learn from them.

Along with above mentioned, the struggle for the women to fight for equity is also brought to the surface. For instance, Ying-ying encourages her daughter Lena to escape an unhappy marriage, not repeating the same mistakes she made in her first marriage. And An-mei tells her daughter Rose to learn to shout at the unfair fate, and express her own will because Rose has lost herself in her marriage. These two cases reveal that the women begin to release themselves from the restrains of being oppressed by the men and the old-fashioned thoughts as well as some Chinese traditional characters. Eventually, the women find their true value and win their own happiness.

View from the whole film, the title, the Joy Luck Club may just be the old generation’s hope of better life for the next generation. On the whole, this is a movie made specifically for women. It is worth our appreciation.

今天，我读了一本名叫《伊索寓言》的书，里面有很多的故事，我最感兴趣的是《生金蛋的母鸡》这个故事。

第二天中午，丈夫拿着刀，去鸡舍杀鸡时，却吓了一跳，便大叫一声。妻子以为丈夫出了什么事情，所以便去鸡舍一看，她也吓了一跳，因为那只母鸡的鸡窝里有一颗金灿灿、沉甸甸的金鸡蛋。后来，夫妻俩用金蛋卖掉的钱，为鸡做了最舒服的窝，给它喂最好的食物。当母鸡吃好住好后，每天晚上都给他们生一个又大又沉的金蛋。他们发了大财，买了田地，雇了许多佃户，又盖起了大房子。

有一天，妻子说：“干脆把那只母鸡杀了，把肚子里的金蛋都掏出来，省的每天伺候它，给它这么多食物吃。”丈夫听了有理，便立即动手。谁知，剖开肚子一看，根本没什么金蛋。

他们再也没有金蛋了。没过几年，家产就被夫妻俩败光了。

读过这个故事后，我得到了很多启发：人们应该满足自己有的东西，如果贪得无厌，最后会一无所有；利欲熏心、不仁不义的人，必遭报应。

《傲慢与偏见》这本书，在大学时已经接触过了。只是当时只是看到了男女主角之间的感情纠葛，起起落落的心情，让人沉浸在其中，几年之后，再次翻阅，别有一番风味。

《傲慢与偏见》也是这样一部以男女青年的恋爱婚姻为题材的小说。然而，同其他作品不同的是，这部小说以男女主人公的爱情纠葛为主线，共计描写了四起姻缘，是作者最富于喜剧色彩，也是最引人入胜的一部作品。奥斯丁在书中通过四起婚事的对照描写，提出了道德和行为的规范问题。

另外，《傲慢与偏见》向我们表明，恋爱婚姻不仅是个人问题，而且也是个社会问题。人们考虑婚姻大事，不能只光顾着自己，还要对亲友负责，对社会负责。

这是个曲折但却也美丽的爱情故事，主人公伊丽莎白是个勇于追求爱情、漂亮聪明、坚强可爱的中产阶级女子。故事主要以她对达西先生从一开始的厌恶到尊敬，再到爱慕为线索，也穿插了在几个发生在她身边的幸福或不幸的婚姻，揭示了作者对那个时代女人生活与爱情的理想和期望。故事中女主角伊丽莎白第一眼看到男主角达西就是不顺眼的，加上男主角个性的傲慢，继而对他有了偏见。而男主角达西，是个不受人欢迎的傲慢男子，也不屑于周遭冷淡的人际关系，对他来说，傲慢也许是有理的，偏见却很无情，这两者产生的冲击是免不了的。两个人之间也因此而常有针锋相对的言辞，彼此之间的傲慢和偏见就造成了一开始的不愉快与误解，但是经过种.种事件的澄清，彼此又渐渐产生一点点的感情。达西代表着“傲慢”，伊丽莎白代表着“偏见”，他们一开始都被自己的情绪所牵引。接着一连串对达西不利的流言，更让伊丽莎白对达西反感。当达西向伊丽莎白求婚而遭到拒绝时，他说了一句话：“要是我耍一点手段，把我内心的矛盾掩饰起来，一味地恭维你，使你相信我无论在理智方面、思想方面以及其他各方面，都是对你怀着无条件的纯洁的爱，那么也许你就不会有这些苛刻的责骂了。可惜无论是什么样的伪装，我都痛恨。”达西没有为了讨好伊丽莎白，而改变他的傲慢性情。伊丽莎白也表现了很真实的自己，彼此都不刻意去营造给人的印象，表现出了最真实的一面。而开始的时候，伊丽莎白一直活在自己的偏见之下，而忽略思考事实的真相，经过达西的解释和自己的判断，才最终找到幸福的归宿。

傲慢与偏见，是我们很常见的弱点和毛病。每一个人其实都很容易被自己的主观印象所驱使，因而容易对别的人下不正确的注解，进而造成了彼此之间的误会。一个人所给予的第一印象固然可以影响到很多事，但并非一定不会改变，要有更加深入的了解，才能有更客观一点的论点，就好像故事中女主角对达西的看法，就是因为了解才有所改变。生活需要了解和沟通，只有在彼此了解的基础上才能给一个人下定论。书中的时代背景会造就许多不同的爱情观：“彬格莱先生仪表堂堂，大有绅士风度，而且和颜悦色，没有拘泥做作的气习。达西立刻引起全场的注意，因为他身材魁伟，眉清目秀，举止高贵，于是他进场不到五分钟，大家都纷纷传说他每年有一万磅的收入。男宾们都称赞他的一表人才，女宾们都说他比彬格莱先生漂亮得多。”人们就是以财富来衡量一个人的。在达西与伊莉沙白的年代是趋于保守的，也会有贵族与平民的上的障碍;相较于现代这样的情形就会比较少发生。不过《傲慢与偏见》与另一部《爱玛》中都以婚姻为其中心议题。就书中的人物而言，婚姻并非意味着男女间无法控制的热情而是双方与社会间的契约产物。小说人物全然融入其社会现实，依循社会规则，谱出故事情节。由于明白婚姻关系可提供阶级提升与经济改善的机会，财力与社会地位为决定结婚对象的相关条件。本文以社会女性主义观点切入，检视奥斯汀的社会背景，探索社会环境如何影响女性在面临婚姻时，内心的焦虑与挣扎。就社会女性主义者而言，物质环境为塑造女性婚姻意识的决定因素。事实上，婚姻，就小说人物而言，为一个阶级交换与经济交流的市场。为了达成结婚的目的，女性人物擅于把自己转化成商品，展示其外貌与才艺，吸引男性目光。此一时期女性受到社会价值的鼓励，利用其女性特质来赢得婚姻伴侣。然而，奥斯汀的女性人物在面临婚姻伴侣的抉择时往往呈现对婚姻无意识的不安。爱情是一条主线，然而婚姻与爱情还是有差别的，其中一点诚实，男女主人公就太缺少了。正因为如此才使得女主角不安。

傲慢与偏见，在书中是男女主角爱情上的障碍，但在现实社会中也是人们相互之间交流的障碍，更是在正确对待自己，对待事物上的绊脚石。人的缺陷太多，首先是心灵上的陷阱。要想在一生中成一番事业，无论是知识、教养、还是爱情、事业，都需要同自己心灵的种.种浅浮的陷阱或阴影做斗争，经过各种误解和长时间的反复的认识过程，慢慢由心灵克服各自弱点和毛病，而走向开放、洒脱、自由的必然结果。扰扰尘世，做人不易;茫茫人海，佳偶难见。然而没有爱情不要勉强人结婚，只要人品正直，追求美德，不放松向喜之心，不苟且、贪图一时之利欲，追求两心之和谐、相应，运用彼此的智慧，克服心灵上的缺点，终得如愿以偿。人和人之间的相处总会有一些小小的摩擦，而这些摩擦，往往就是自己内心中所潜藏的弱点或毛病，要和别人能够更愉快的生活，就必须先了解到自己的缺点，并磨去他，其次是了解别人的内心，最后再互相深入彼此，如此一来，你会发现到社会上每一件人、事、物都是如此美好、光明，更进一步激发出你内心深处的感动，发挥出自己的专长去替这个社会、这个国家、这个世界服务，毕竟我门是万物之长，如果人们不再用心去关怀身边的人，不再去付出自己的一臂之力，那么还有谁要去完成这个任务呢?所以从现在开始，我们就应该将自己原先所存有的毛病给除去，换上一个全新的自我，为崭新的未来打拚吧!
