Last year, my father bought a lovely pet for me. She has four white paws

and a white and yellow tail. She has two small ears, two green eyes and eight

whiskers on her face. Her name is Sally and she is one year old.

寒假里，我去了广州的长隆野生动物世界。它是亚洲最大的动物园，也是我心目中最棒的动物园。

长隆野生动物园分为自驾区和步行游览区两部分。一到动物园，我们先去坐小火车游览自驾区。小火车一路开进去，我看到了蓝孔雀、羊驼、双峰骆驼、毛来貘、白犀牛、白袋鼠、白虎，还有火烈鸟和长颈鹿等。这些动物都是放养着的，有些懒洋洋地躺着，有些在吃东西，还有些在路上慢悠悠地走着。小火车开过，动物们随时和我们来个亲密接触，真有趣！火烈鸟名副其实，远远望去，就像一团团火焰；还有一种名为“reddeer”的马鹿，没有人知道为什么要叫“reddeer”，难道是因为看上去有点红？最有趣的是“模特”——长颈鹿，他们在绿油油的草地上走来走去，样子挺文雅，但是我给他们喂叶子时候，有一只长劲鹿居然把我手中的树枝一口夺过去，把树枝也吃进去了。呜！好险！那一瞬间，长颈鹿抢食的力量差点把我也拉出去了！

白虎园的白虎跳水表演也很精彩！饲养员把肉吊在线上，引诱白虎跳水来吃。白虎一开始在岸边愣了一下，我还以为它是不是吃饱了？正在我猜想的时候，吊着的肉不见了，白虎也扑通一声跳下水，激起了一个大浪花，引来了观众的热烈的掌声！

进入大门，最先吸引我的，是中国的国宝——熊猫！他们的头部、身体的毛黑白相间，肚子呈灰黑色，在馆内的竹林间笨拙地窜来窜去。游人们纷纷拿出照相机，“咔嚓咔嚓”地照个不停，而小熊猫们却像大明星一样摆起了架子，跑到大石头后面去了，只露出一条黑色的小尾巴。

Many animals are in danger of dying out. As is shown in the chart, we can

see the number of animal species decreases faster and faster and this trend will

continue. From 1980 to 2010, at least 1 million animal species have disappeared.

Worse still, more and more wild animals are in great danger. It is not a piece

of sensational news; it is a fact, a harsh reality. Unfortunately, we may not

see these animals in the near future.

From the second picture, we can find some reasons. Why is the number of

animal species declining year by year? Apparently animals have become victims of

fashion industry. Animal skin has been used to make fashionable clothes and

these clothes sell at a high price. So some greedy people begin to kill animals

in a large quantity. This irresponsible behavior not only breaks the balance of

nature but also endangers the living environment of human beings.

As far as I am concerned, something must be done to stop this illegal

action. We believe "no buying, no killing". First, we must make concerning laws

to protect these animals in danger. Second, we must take some measures to

protect animals effectively. Animals are our friends and part of our

environment. Third, we should raise peoples awareness to protect animals and

our environment. In this way, we can build a harmonious society and ensure a

sustainable development.

In the past, there have been many endangered animals. Now they are extinct. Does it matter? Has our environment been affected by their absence? Has the quality of our own life been changed? The answer to these questions is "Yes."

Yes. It does matter if we destroy an endangered species habitat to develop more farmland, housing or industrial parks. There is a delicate balance of nature. If one small part is removed, it will effect all the other parts. For example, if certain trees are cut down, bats will have no place to roost. If they cannot roost, they cannot breed. 九月的一天，阳光明媚，微风习习。温哥华繁华的街道上，车水马龙，一片热闹的景象。巡警如往常一样，正在协助交警指挥交通。忽然，他发觉六只憨态可掬的小鸭子，正在鸭妈妈的带领下，旁若无人、大摇大摆地横穿马路。

车辆只好停下，等着这个高傲的“部队”穿过马路。后面的车子毫不知情，不断地发出嘈杂的喇叭声与呐喊声，催着车辆尽快通行。巡警这时早已看不下去了，吹响了口哨，警告后面车辆停止发声并做出解释。

正当鸭妈妈刚要迈出最后一步踏上街道，突然，几只小鸭失足跌入了路旁的入水道，发出了

“嘎嘎嘎”的求救声。鸭妈妈循声找去，看见自己的宝贝已经掉入了“疾速瀑布”——下水道。看见自己的宝贝马上要掉入水管道，鸭妈妈在危急时刻，沉着冷静，急急忙忙地走到巡警的面前“嘎嘎嘎嘎”地叫。巡警一脸糊涂，根本没有听懂鸭妈妈说的话。鸭妈妈见巡警无动于衷，只好用扁嘴把巡警一步步地拉到下水道边。

巡警跟着鸭妈妈来到下水道口，低头一看，呀!几只小鸭子正在下水道里逆流而上，为了帮助自己不掉入水管中，但他们可惜体力不支，也在逆流时慢慢地靠近水管。情况紧急，巡警伸手就去救几只小鸭子，这时鸭宝宝们体力透支得已要掉入水管。在这迅雷不及掩耳之时，巡警不顾水脏跳入了下水道，堵住了管口，救出了小鸭们。鸭妈妈十分感激，连忙让小鸭们表示感谢。谢完，鸭妈鸭宝又开始了长途旅行。

看着这个情景，我也不禁想到：地球属于这颗星球所有生命，动物与人类是地球共同的主人，我们应该和它们和谐相处。让我们从小做起，保护野生动物，关心野生动物，让更多人都能投入到保护野生动物的行动中来。

Dear Ling Feng,

I would like to thank you at the end of our middle school education. You

have been very kind and helpful since we knew each other.

You have given me so much help that I will never forget. Last term, I

caught a bad cold and had to stay at home for a week. When I was worrying about

the lessons, you came to my home after school and helped me with every subject.

With your help, I didnt fall behind others. Since then, we have become very

close friends. I think Ill try to help others just like you.

Today，pollution has become a serious problem to us. It means that the air，seas，rivers and land are polluted by waste or poisonous things.

It does harm not only to human beings but also to animals .

We cannot have fresh air because many factories have the poisonous smoke sent into the air. Beautiful parks are made dirty by plastic tins and bags.

Fish die from the polluted water. It is said that strange diseases have appeared in some places because of pollution.

I hope scientists can find ways to solve the serious problem.

We are looking forward to seeing the clear sky，clean rivers and beautiful parks again.

Water is very important to us. If you don’t have water for three days, you

will die. We can use water for flowers, swimming, washing and many different

things. We use it to cook, make electricity, put out fires and so on. We use

millions of liters of water every day.

Do you know how does the water come to your home? It travels through water

pipes. Some are long and wide but some are short and narrow. Then the water

travels through the water pipes to the reservoirs. Then it travels through the

water pipes to the river and to the special factories (we call water plants)

that purify the water. When the water is purified, we can drink it. Please don’t

leave garbage in the water on which we line, and keep the water clean.
