One says they exert positive influence on a student’s physical and mental development, for they can explore a student’s talent, develop a students ability in communication, and teach them to be more independent. While, opposite voices can also be heard by asserting that recreational activities waste too much time, and therefore may hinder student from focusing on his or her study.

There is no doubt that human activity has an effect on the planet. We see the evidence of mankind’s endeavors all around us. While some of man’s accomplishments, such as the building of transportation systems and the consistent supply of potable water, have made Earth a better place for people to live, they have not come without cost. Overall, it seems that human activity harms the Earth more than it benefits it.

For example, the transportation systems that benefit mankind also create pollution and use up valuable energy resources. While we cannot do without transportation these days, we cannot ignore the fact that it has an adverse effect on the planet. 关于这个问题，我有亲身经历：在一个阳光灿烂，天气极好的一个星期日里，我早早地起了床，因为这周作业老师布置得较多，所以我要抓紧时间完成，刚刚做到一半，弟弟妹妹哥哥的电话如同流水般向我涌来，他们在电话里告诉我下去放风筝！一听到“放风筝”这三个字啊，我的心已飞到了空中玩耍、跳跃，而且已经12点钟了，我便放下我手中的笔，径直走到厨房，对正在炒菜的妈妈说：“下午要去放风筝，作业等晚上回来再做。”还没等到妈妈回答，作业们已自觉地迅速飞到了我的书包里。于是，我开始吃饭，10多分钟便吃完了，就开始催促他们，不一会儿12：40了，他们也吃完了饭，我们约好1：00钟在盐井广场见，到了一点，还不见妹妹，弟弟和哥哥倒是太阳从西边升起，那么准时，可能是极想放风筝的缘故吧！到了一点半，才见妹妹和她的爸爸妈妈飞奔而来，妹妹气喘吁吁地对我们说：“对不起，我来迟了！”我很好奇她为什么来迟，她告诉我：“今天上午作业没完成，吃了午饭又做了一小时才辛辛苦苦补上的。”我一听，马上想起来我还有那么多作业没做完，吃了午饭都不知道做一会儿。于是我那一个下午都想着那个作业，都没玩开心。
