Dear Sir,

I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to apply for the scholarship?

父爱，母爱，友爱……爱有多种方式，爱让生活更美好。

记得三岁那时，那天阳光明媚，早晨妈妈就告诉我骑自行车去姥爷家。吃完早饭，妈妈带着我出发了，并且还嘱咐我说：“你要小心，别把脚伸进轮子里了。”可那时淘气的我哪里听的进去，还对我妈妈大声说：“我偏要伸”说着还好奇的把脚往轮子里伸。只听见自行车一声沉重的响声，接着传来了一阵哭声。不幸的事发生了!

妈妈赶紧从自行车上下来，看到我痛苦得样子，不禁惊呆了。

过了一会儿，妈妈试探着想把我的脚弄出来，但是经过几次的尝试，她始终没有成功。于是，无奈之下她只得向路人请求帮助，然而，最终在路人的帮助下我的脚被大家弄出来了。之后，妈妈也顾不上骑自行车，抱着我就往医院跑去。最终，在医生检查之后，断定我的脚已经骨折了。于是，妈妈又是挂号，又是抓药，之后又照顾我了几个月，我才有所好转。后来，我走路还是一瘸一拐的，妈妈又怕我落下什么后遗症，又特地跑到医院去问了医生，直到医生说这是正常现象时妈妈这才放下心来。

经过几个月的治疗，我可以自己走路了。再看妈妈为了照顾我，也消瘦了一圈。

经历这件事后，我体会到了母亲是伟大的。

让我们珍惜所得到的每一份爱吧。因为，爱让生活更美好。

我们玩得很开心 We play very happy

Today Im very happy,after I have breakfast,I go to park.

Its a sunny day ,the bird is singing,Im singing too.When I get to park,I

see some girls are playing games ,so I join them.We play very happy.Then I have

lunch with my friends.We both have a good time.whats a happy day!

During the winter vacation, nothing is different for my life. I wake up 11

o’clock Am everyday, after a washing, I have a good lunch with my parents. Next

I play computer games till the time to have supper. After have dinner. I go on

playing till 2 o’clock Am, and then go to sleep with tired. This is one dull day

of my winter vacation.But I haven’t bored all the time. Sometimes I read the

books, sometime I listen to the music or the radio in the bed，because it was

very cold outside and snowy all the day. And I also meat some of my good friends

during the vacation ,we have a very long talk about the life of each other in

假如家长遵守规则，在斑马线处横穿马路，想必安全系数必定大大提高。而从车主的角度来看，他也与前者一样是规则为浮云在路上超速行驶，因而在小孩折返的那一瞬间无法做出有效反应而酿成这样的惨剧。二者对待规则都不重视，以至于酿出悲剧，让年仅6岁的孩子为他们的对规则的忽视丧失了性命，对自己行为的无知付出了生命的代价，这正是对每一个活着的人的警示，无视规则不可取。

不是规则意识犹如猛虎，会不断的让我们失去警惕，却在我们不经意间对我们进行致命的打击，宁波动物园一男子春节为了逃票，而以身犯险不遵守动物园管理规定，独自翻进入，以至于遭到老虎的攻击付出了生命的代价，正是他没有规则意识面对心中忽视规则的这头猛虎，放松警惕从而受到了致命的打击。每个人都是自由的，不过自由却是相对的，每个人都被规则法律所制约，我们只有遵守规则才能更好的生存于这个世界，无视规则终究要付出代价。 Turn into the price of life by the attack of the tiger. New Year is the biggest festival for Chinese people. After about half a

month, there is a traditional festival, it is the Lantern Festival, which is

also important. The first round moon day in the New Year is special. People

continue to celebrate the New Year and enjoy the time with their families.

The coming of Lantern Festival is various. Some people said that it is

related with Buddha. When the Buddhas meditated, they need light in front of

them, so the light can drive away monster for people. Today, in some areas,

Dear Tom,

Thanks for your letter which finally caught up with me in London. I suppose youre keen to hear how the trip has been so far. So heres a short description of whats happened.

Well, you remember we left Sydney on Monday and arrived in London 24 hours later. After such a long and exhausting flight the first thing we did was to have a good, long sleep. And after that?a good meal to make up for all that horrible airline stuff!

The first real day of our holiday was spent just walking around London to get a feel of the place. After that, however, we were more particular and planned each day carefully.

First, we looked at all the historical sights, such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, the British Museum and the National Gallery. Then we visited some other famous places, such as Kew Gardens and Hampstead Heath. Finally, we took a one-day trip to Oxford, which is really the most marvelous town. You should make sure to go there when you visit England.

After we had seen a lot of London, we flew to Paris. A t first, we didnt like the place-I suppose because it was so different from London. Later, though, we began to really love it and started to appreciate its differentness.

The final stage of our trip is a visit to Rome, after which we will be staying in Singapore for two days before returning to Australia.

春节是中国的传统节日，每逢春节，家家团圆，人人高兴，每个人都穿上新衣裳，又是一个新的开始。

比赛正式开始，第一个项目就是我们一年级的接力赛。“砰”的一声枪响，运动员们像离弦的箭一样冲了出去。在跑道的另一端，接棒的同学身子向前倾，拿到棒子后马上飞一般的往前跑。轮到我了，虽然我很紧张，但还是顺利地接住了棒子跑到了对面。场上的加油声、喝彩声一浪高过一浪，运动员们也一个接着一个飞速地跑着。最后，我们班得了接力赛第三名。接下来，又进行了二百米赛跑、垒球等比赛项目。

时间过得真快啊，经过一天激励的比赛，最终我们班得了年级段的第一名，同学们高兴地跳了起来。多么快乐的运动会啊!

Christmas Day is on December 25th. It was originated in the western

country, but today, this festival has been celebrated by the world. For the

manufacturers, they are very happy to make this day as a shopping day. I enjoy

the great atmosphere.

I had a very special Christmas day last year. I experienced the western

style festival. There was a new foreign teacher taught us the lesson. She was

about 50 years old and she was very kind and we all liked her. On Christmas Day,

she brought us the desserts she made early in the morning. We enjoyed the

home-made cakes. Whats more, she invited us to came to her house and spent the

day with her. Then for the first time, I ate big turkey, which was so delicious.

The turkey was filled with many stuffs and the flavor was so good. After dinner,

we sang songs and danced.

Thanks to my foreign teacher, I experienced the American style festival. It

was such funny for me. Though today many people enjoy shopping in all kinds of

festivals, the meaning of these festival should be remembered.

I want to be a teacher since I was a child. When I was in primary school, I

was very admire the position of teacher. They are knowledgeable just seems that

there is nothing they don’t know. They treat us just like their children. They

care about our study,life and health. Since then, I have made my mine to be a

teacher in the future. I would like to be a kind and knowledgeable peron like my

teacher. So, being a teacher is my dream. I will try my best to study well to

reach my dream.

这首童谣中“三十晚上熬一宿”是我最感兴趣的，为什么呢?哈哈，因为年三十，又称除夕，家家户户都要聚在一起吃团圆饭!吃团圆饭可比吃普通的饭要热闹多了!不仅家人团聚，而且样样都有着美好寓意，又有营养的菜纷纷摆上了餐桌。

今年，我家团圆饭中有着美好寓意的才就有许多呢!你瞧!有鱼!它代表年年有“鱼”这边的柿子饼也有着美好的寓意，它代表“万事如意”还有我们人见人爱，花见花开的年糕。在除夕夜把年糕摆城宝塔状，可以表示来年生活步步高升呢!把年糕白城大圆盘，还可以表示团团圆圆，大吉大利，寓意可多了!还有海鲜、牛肉......还有许多我人都不认识的一些“老”菜。

虽然餐桌上的菜诱惑着我们，但我们仍不忘我们家的老规矩——先把年纪最老的太婆请上了桌，你们瞧，太婆乐呵呵的，眼睛眯成了一条缝，嘴咧牙在笑呢!我们吃了许多菜，我感觉肚子都快装不下了!

我们高高兴兴地吃完了饭，坐在电视机钱，看春节晚会，爷爷和爸爸一边看春晚一边聊着2020年一些美好的事情，奶奶贺太婆则一边看晚会，一边拍手叫绝。那我呢?其实，我和弟弟妹妹也在“表演”呢!你瞧，妹妹在表演螃蟹走路，弟弟在表演陀螺......我们也玩的不亦乐乎。

在这个团圆祥和的除夕夜，我们精彩的2020年画上了圆满的句号。这个喜庆的日子，我们期待来年全家身体健康，平平安安。

今天早上一醒来，我发现自己怪怪的，好像多出来一双手(暂时把称为手吧)。我连忙跑到镜子旁，发现自己有三双手，背后有一双透明的翅膀，头上长出一对黑色的触角，全身黑黄相间，嘴巴变成了一根卷起来又细又长的吸管。我觉得自己现在就是一只巨大的蜜蜂。

我吓得惊慌失措，从来没有遇到过这种情况，怎么办?我想求助于爸爸妈妈，才想起他们都出差了。“叮铃铃”，闹钟响了，我该上学了。我飞快地把裤子套在下面的那双腿上，看见衣服我为难了，谁会想到一个小孩有两双手和一对翅膀呢?我只好把校服两侧剪出两个洞，又在背后剪了两个洞，这样总算能勉强出门了。

车站人很多，大家都忙着玩手机，没人理睬我是一只蜜蜂。公交车一辆接着一辆，可是人很多，根本挤不上去。眼看就要迟到了，我忽然想起自己还有一对翅膀啊，也许可以飞过去。我来到一个偏僻的角落，使劲煽动翅膀，果然飞了起来。可惜我的技术不太熟练，差点儿摔下来。我又试飞了好几次，终于飞得好多了，很快来到学校。

今天的最后一节课是去图书馆看书。一节课只有四十五分钟，平时我只能看完一本书，可今天就不一样啦。因为蜜蜂的大眼睛里有很多复眼，看书时可以说一目十行。我还有两双手，翻书也很快。只见我一节课都在拿书、看书、放书，到下课时居然看完了8本书。

这一天真是又新奇又劳累，我非常喜欢做一只嗡嗡响的蜜蜂。躺在床上，我很快就睡着了。第二天早上起床，我发现自己有了一条长长的尾巴，难道我变成了孔雀……

Spring Festival was my favorite Chinese festival when I was a child. At

that time, I had a great time. Every year at that time I could dress new

clothes, get lucky money from relatives and seldom receive criticism from my

mother. Everything seems such wonderful. However, as I grow up, I find Spring

Festival is less and less interesting. I just feel that as usual. What’s worse,

with the fireworks, I find Spring Festival is a noisy festival. So I don’t like

it any more.

我是一个大英雄，名叫钢铁侠。我是保护世界和平的大英雄。我有着金刚不坏之身。哪个人遇到危险，我都会拯救他人。

有一次，我在路上溜达，听见一声喊叫，我左顾右盼，并没有看见什么。我想是谁在叫呀！我以为是幻听。我便接着溜达。突然我又听见了一声喊叫，跟之前的一模一样声音，我开始产生疑问了，明明四周没有看见遇到危险的人，为什么，却有这么大的喊叫声呢？我觉得不对劲，我飞快的走到没有人去的狭窄小路，去狭窄小路的那里变了身。

我的身上穿上了一层厚厚的铠甲与头盔，于是我加大引擎，脚下冒出了推进器，推进器里冒火花，就这样我飞了起来，我寻找着需要帮助的人。不过一会儿就找到了，一个姑娘被三个土匪打劫。我飞快地冲了下去，他们见到我来了，只好撒腿就跑。

还有一次，我又听见了一个小姑娘的尖叫声，我立刻跑向尖叫声那边，刚到那，发现小女孩的叫声是假的，只是一个录音器在录音，不好，上当了。我刚想逃跑，可是被一个特殊的网子给困住了，动弹不得，有三个人出现在我面前，那三个人就是之前的土匪，他们的老大说：“你还认得我们吗？钢铁侠。”“可恶！”我愤怒的说道。“钢铁侠，你都这样了，还想凶我。我让你英雄救美。”他愤怒无比的说道，说我呢，他手上拿着一个开关，刚按下按钮，一套铠甲和头盔包裹了他的身体，没错，他那个身体正是钢铁侠，只不过他的钢铁侠皮肤是淡黑的，眼睛是红的。他立刻飞向天空，开始尽情破坏。

人们看见是钢铁侠，并没逃跑，目不转睛的望着。他开始用他的“等离子炮”来攻击人们，我愤怒无比，费了九牛二虎之力挣脱了那个网子，开始变身。我先把之前的一个土匪干掉了，现在只剩下“盗版钢铁侠”了。我火速飞上了天空。那时他并没有看见我，我用我的“等离子炮”轰了两下，一下是头，一下是他的推进器。就这样“盗版钢铁侠”被我给干掉了。

我还要继续保护和平，继续保护人们。
