"Is that all?" said the fox. "I am master of a hundred tricks, and in addition to that I have a sackful of cunning. I feel sorry for you. Come with me, and I will teach you how one escapes from the dogs."

Just then a hunter came by with four dogs. The cat jumped nimbly up a tree, and sat down at its top, where the branches and foliage completely hid her.

"Untie your sack, Mr. Fox, untie your sack," the cat shouted to him, but the dogs had already seized him, and were holding him fast.

"Oh, Mr. Fox," shouted the cat. "You and your hundred tricks are left in the lurch. If you been able to climb like I can, you would not have lost your life."

一只猫在森林里遇到一只狐狸，心想：“他又聪明，经验又丰富，挺受人尊重的。”於是它很友好地和狐狸打招呼：“日安，尊敬的狐狸先生，您好吗?这些日子挺艰难的，您过得怎么样?”

狐狸傲慢地将猫从头到脚地打量了一番，半天拿不定主意是不是该和它说话。最后它说：“哦，你这个倒霉的长着鬍子、满身花纹的傻瓜、饥肠辘辘地追赶老鼠的傢伙，你会啥?有甚么资格问我过得怎么样?你都学了点甚么本事?”

“我只有一种本领。”猫谦虚地说。

“甚么本领?”狐狸问。

“有人追我的时候，我会爬到树上去藏起来保护自己。”

“就这本事?”狐狸不屑地说，“我掌握了上百种本领，而且还有满口袋计谋。我真觉得你可怜，跟着我吧，我教你怎么从追捕中逃生。”

就在这时，猎人带着四条狗走近了。猫敏捷地窜到一棵树上，在树顶上蹲伏下来，茂密的树叶把它遮挡得严严实实。

“快打开你的计谋口袋，狐狸先生，快打开呀!”猫冲着狐狸喊道。可是猎狗已经将狐狸扑倒咬住了。“哎呀，狐狸先生，”猫喊道，“你的千百种本领就这么给扔掉了!假如你能像我一样爬树就不至於丢了性命了!”

在今年暑假我们家的母猫——黑妞，居然生下了两只像老鼠一般大小的小猫咪，因此家里多了两个新成员。

我只要一有空就会去观察它们，喵……喵……每当小猫一肚子饿就会发出叫声，而黑妞就会让它们吸奶，可是只要黑妞察觉这里不安全就会马上搬家，所以我时常找不到它们藏身何处。

随着时间的流逝，两只小猫咪已经可以跑跑跳跳了，它们一胖一瘦，我们把胖的叫〝嘟嘟〞，瘦的叫〝小虎〞，他们毛色一模一样，背部是灰色的，腹部却是白色的，有着一双炯炯有神的眼睛，它们很喜欢跑来跑去，一下往东、一下往西，跑到气喘如牛才知道要停下来休息;它们也是两个好奇宝宝，只要妈妈去开冰箱，它们就会马上冲过去看一看冰箱里到底装了什么东西，可是越看就越想爬进去，妈妈只好赶快把冰箱门关起来，免得等一下就会出现两个“冰棒猫”了。

它们很爱玩，所以我买了一个小玩具给它们，玩具的形状是圆的，里面还有一个铃铛，在滚动时会发出“铃……铃……”的声音，它们好爱玩这个玩具，它们会把它拍来拍去，追来追去，好像在踢足球呢!

它们也非常喜欢跟人撒娇，每当我放学回家，我和哥哥第一件事就是跟它们玩，它们一高兴就会一直用脸磨蹭我们的脚，有时候它们会将那雪白的肚子朝上，四脚朝天要我们摸它们，模样真是可爱极了。

因为有了这两只小猫咪，不但让我知道许多有关猫的习性，也让我们的生活变得多采多姿，全家人的笑容也变得更多了。

Several days ago, Mother brought home a little cat. I gave her a nice name "Mimi".

She is black all over except her: four feet and a small nose. There is also a white bib on her chest. Can you imagine what she looks like? Every morning she gets up the earliest. Then she always climbs up my bed and wakes me up. When we sit at table having our meal, she often runs under the table and even climbs onto our knees, it seems as if she was saying, "Let me join you. I want something to eat."

"Mimi" likes to lie onthe floor in the sunshine. She feels;comfortable that way. She looks more lovely when doing that.

I like "Mimi" very much because the cat brings us a joy of the family.
