Before Chinese students go to college, they have been told about the great

things on campus life all the time, so they have the motivation to study hard.

place to free themselves. Without the supervision from parents and teachers,

The New Year is coming and this term has finished. Now, I can enjoy a happy

winter holiday. In winter holiday, I don’t have to get up early every morning.

It’s the best thing for me. I often get up at nine o’clock in the morning. My

parents go to work so I stay at home alone. I will go out for breakfast. Noodle,

milk and egg are my favorites. Then I go back home to watch TV or meet my

friends. We always have many things to do. My parents would go home at noon so I

have lunch at home. In the afternoon, I will sleep and then do some homework. In

short, I spend most time in playing. I love winter holiday.

My mother is sixty-three years old, and for the last forty year she has

been the village doctor. She has a small clinic that she prepares medicine and

treats small injuries, and also sells canned powder milk. Our house has people

in and out at all hours of the day and night. The villagers always like to come

to her clinic to see the doctor and to meet their neighbors, too. Almost all the

villagers come to my mother when their baby is due. My mother is very good at

predicting the day the baby will come. Sometimes my mother will not get enough

sleep if the babies come late at night or early in the morning. There are

special rooms for the mother and baby, and usually they stay at the doctors

house about twenty-four hours. We always like to see the new babies get their

High school students have come into a sensitive stage, their bodies grow so

fast and their minds have to keep up with the change. The boys and girls start

to realize the gender difference, there will be some awkward moments between

them. The troubled adolescent annoys many teenagers, because they have problems

all the time. For the girls, they want to look as beautiful as the commercial

models, so they go on a diet and struggle with hunger. For the boys, they want

to be as cool as the heroes in the TV, so they pretend to care about nothing and

go against the school regulations. The troubles teenagers meet are very typical,

they can talk to their teachers or go to see the psychologist. They need to take

the right attitudes towards these problems, or they will go the wrong way.

Smoe people say that money is the best thing in the world. But I consider

Reading books is very important. First of all, it is knowledge that makes

Peer pressure means the influence given by a group of people around you,

For one thing, influence of peer pressure has positive effect. It depends

progress. For instance, my deskmate does well in one math exam, while I fall far

behind her. As we are deskmates, i can’t let others look down on me. So i will

take her as my good example to fight. And then next time, I can get a good mark

For another, influence of peer pressure has negative effect. Sometimes the

influence will be bad. For example, if my friends ask me to skip class to watch

me that money is very important. As time passes, i may change my conception.

In summary, the influence of peer pressure has positive and negative sides.

We have to advocate the good side and avoid the negative. We have to be clear

Recently, it has been reported that a boy argued with his father and then
