I have to go to Egypt, where the sun is hot, and it is warm and cool there;”

command you!” the little swallow had no choice but to obey.

“Okay prince, what is your command?” “See that poor little girl on the

“What a picky girl!” when he flew back, he didn’t tell the prince the message

that he had just received from the little girl; but he still was very cold.

He knew that since he did not help the poor little girl, he felt bad; and

so that was the reason why he was cold. He was very sad; and when he was about

to fly to Egypt, the prince said to the swallow, “I see that you are very sad

these days; I wonder what is the matter, tell me?” the swallow did not speak,

the prince forced the swallow to tell him; but he still didn’t say anything. At

last the prince said, “If you don’t tell me I will put dynamites on your head

and blow you up! I was trying to help you!”

At these words the swallow was so scared that he said out loud, “I heard

the little girl say that that wasn’t enough to pay for his father, and so I

didn’t tell you because I thought that you would not like it and…”

“Oh my dear swallow, why on earth would you think I will not help a little

girl? And why on earth would you not tell me about this?” the spell was broken,

the prince turned to real life, and jumped down from the statue’s stand, “Thank

you dear swallow, you have broke the spell, and now I can live on land once

more.

That was the end of the happy prince. During the lives when he was a golden

statue, he realized how important everybody was to him, and that how important

There was once a boy and Henry who were both very good friends that lived

very close to each other. Each day they would go outside and play. One day their

parents decided to let them go to school to learn lessons. Of course they both

loved it very much.

They were in the same class and studied very hard to earn a reward.

One day when they were ready to go to school, their parents told them never

ever to walk on the ice; it may melt since spring was starting here.

They both agreed, but did they really keep in mind of it? Well, they went

off to the pond since they were going to cross it. They were too lazy to walk

the other ways; and they didn’t think that it was even possible that the ice

would melt, so they went on the ice slowly to cross it.

Suddenly, they both felt a crack under their feet, and the ice was to crack

and melt. They were very nervous and regretted not following their parents

advice.When it was time for school to start, they still didn’t cross it. When

they were about to reach shore; boom! The ice cracked, and both of them fell

into the cold icy water. They struggled for a while, at last Henry found a

little spot where both of them could hold and pull them up from the icy

water.

They slowly swam to the beam, and stepped on a rock which was lying there,

Henry lifted himself up and the other boy did the same thing and both of them

got on shore.

They went to school all soaked wet and goofy, their teacher scolded them

for not coming to school on time. Of course they had extra homework for the day;

but both of them didn’t mind. When they got home, they went to their parents and

cried. Their moms saw them all soaked and wet, they asked them; “How did you get

so wet?” and the boys cried out, “We didn’t obey you!” Then they told them the

whole story. Their moms were glad that Henry figured out that there was a rock

that could bring them both safe onto land.

In summer, the weather is hot. We should drink more water, because we sweat

Dear Mr. President,

My name is __, a sophomore majoring in International Trade. Having

learned and lived on campus for nearly two years, I have found university life

most exciting and instructive.

What happens around me every day has left a deep impression on me, but what

strikes me most is the canteen service on campus, so that for some time I have

had the keen desire to write to you, sharing with you my positive comments on

and negative feelings about it. On the one hand, we are happy to see that the

canteen staff has been sparing no efforts to guarantee food quality. As a

result, we are relieved from the anxiety that some food might be dirty, stale

and inedible. We also feel contented with the service provided by the canteen,

enjoying food in a homely atmosphere. On the other hand, improvements should be

made for the simple reason that prices for dishes are unreasonably high, and

that the canteen is not spacious enough and too noisy at times.

Therefore, to improve the overall service of the canteen the strengths

should be encouraged, while the weaknesses ought to be overcome by lowering

prices and expanding the canteen if possible.
