厦门最漂亮的是鼓浪屿。是个小岛，从厦门坐轮渡的话，只要10分钟吧，是厦门的一个绝对的亮点。就好象去了厦门，没去鼓浪屿，那就是白去厦门了。上面有很多解放前建造的老别墅，中式的，欧式的，有美国领事馆，英国，荷兰领事馆。天主教堂，基督教堂，还有很多当地有声望的人的私人宅邸。 这个美丽的小岛因为曾被其他国家占领过，所以留下了这些建筑。同时这里也是一个音乐之乡，许多居民都会演奏乐器，并且这里还是世界上钢琴拥有量分布最密集的地方。在鼓浪屿的海边更是让人心旷神怡，蓝色的海上，游轮和快艇在行驶，对面的高楼大厦更是显出了鼓浪屿的净。它带着一点岁月的沧桑，但又不是那种纯粹的陈旧，别墅有些已经废弃，有些改成民宅，有些被政府保护起来了。不过遗憾的是，绝大多数的别墅都不能到里面去参观。岛上没有汽车，所以参观的话，只能行走。我们到了收复台湾的英雄人物郑成功的纪念馆，我们看到了他的雕像，一眼望去，他是多么的壮观。

接着，我们乘坐渡轮来到鼓浪屿的海洋公园。那里有许许多多我们平常看不到的小动物。比如：生活在南极的企鹅、一动不动的太阳鱼、透明的水母、可爱的小丑鱼……我们又来到海底隧道，我一眼就看到了只有芝麻大的倒立水母，神仙鱼，刺尾鱼，蝴蝶鱼，它们非常可爱，那里还有抹香鲸的标本，还有巨大的海龟，凶猛的鲨鱼，让我眼花缭乱。海底世界真是太美了。 我们还观看了海狮的精彩表演。

厦门科技馆分五个展区，在海洋-摇篮馆中，我知道了鱼眼中的世界。在和谐-发展馆时，我体验了收录7.8级唐山大地震的地震模拟平台。最有趣的要数创造-文明馆了，那里的莫托曼机器人表演真是太精彩了！那两个机器人刚开始只是慢慢的摇动着身子，像在练太极拳，左边的机器人先拿起了剑耍了起来，人们纷纷往后退，右边的机器人把两个旋转的陀螺像叠罗汉一样叠在一起，最后右边的机器人先把小陀螺放回原处，紧接着它既然把大陀螺放到了薄薄的剑刃上，而且还稳稳当当的呢！台下响起一片掌声。还有有趣的磁电大舞台，我们在台下刚坐好，主持人就在台上讲道：“需要一位长头发的女生。”一个小女生勇敢地跑上台，工作人员让她把头箍脱下，然后让她站到高压电台上，工作人员启动了高压电。这时，奇怪的事发生了——那个小女生的长头发像刺猬身上的刺一样竖了起来，我们在台下笑得前俯后仰，工作人员把“铁笼”关了起来，那个小女生又成了鸟笼的小鸟，可她的刺猬头却变回原样了，真神奇！还有

Travels on Holidaysin China

Nowadays， more and more people like to travel in their holidays. The other day I read a report about the ways people spend their holidays. It is reported that in recent yiars several new holiday habits have been developed. Among them， the most interesting one is the growth of the so-called holiday camps.

From the report we can see that in 20XX，40 percent of people stayed at home for holidays. But now the proportion has reduced to 9 percent. More people go out for fun. The proportion of camping and traveling abroad was increasing steadily， from 10 percent in 20XX to 38 percent in 20XX， and 12 percent in 20XX to 26 percent in 20XX respectively. People enjoy the fresh air， clean Water and green hills when they go camping in the suburbs. In 20XX，38 percent people enjoyed going to the seaside while in 20XX only 27 percent prefer to go there. Why did those changes appear? I think there are several reasons. First， it s because people can afford traveling. Second， people prefer to pursue a high-quality and colorful life. The above table clearly mirrors an upward trend in the number of people who prefer to travel abroad over the last decade. In 1995, there are only ten thousand tourists going overseas to take a trip. In 2000, the figure climbs to approximately 40 thousand, and peaks at 120 thousand in 2005.

There are a huge number of reasons behind this phenomenon, of which the most important one is --China‘s booming economy.

Thanks to the deepening of reform and opening-up, citizens of the Middle Kingdom enjoy a sharp improvement in their living standards. They have enormous consuming power to pursue higher level of living quality. Perhaps getting tired of visiting scenic spots at home, an increasing number of them choose foreign countries as their tour destinations.

When it comes to what impacts it would bring, in my eyes, it would give a huge boost to tour industry both at home and abroad. And it would give Chinese deeper insights into foreign cultures. Of course, the dark side of this phenomenon also exists. For instance, the uncivilized behavior of some Chinese tourists may have a negative impact on China‘s image. Anyway, overseas travel is beneficial. What really needs to occur is consumer education.

The scenery of the Zhanqiao Pier, Luxun Park, Little Qingdao Isle, Xiaoyu Hill, Badaguan, the seashore and the May Fourth Square are all beside the sea and constitute the famous scenic sights of Qingdao. Red roves and green trees, sapphire sea and blue sky in the scenic resort will make you feel happy and fresh.

Zhanqiao Pier: Zhanqiao Pier, built in 1891, is the symbol of Qingdao. After several restorations, from being a simple military harbor, it is now open to tourists. The pier is 440 meters long. There is an octagonal pagoda of distinctive Chinese style, “Huilan Pagoda” at the end of the pier. From the top, tourists can fully view the magnificent sea. Along the shore is the beautiful Pier Park, which is a pleasant and quiet place for tourists to rest or enjoy the scenery of Little Qingdao Isle and its white tower.

I have come back from the USA. From my diary you will know that I’ve been to many places in the States and I’ve tried different means of transportation. Here is a list:

I have taken the subway to the Central Park and I have enjoyed the beautiful views there.

我坐地铁到中央公园，我喜欢那里的美景。

I have taken a ferry to Liberty Island and I have visited the Statue of Liberty.

我坐渡轮到自由岛，参观过自由女神像。

I have taken a bike to Chinatown and I have eaten different kinds of Chinese food.

I have flied to San Francisco and I have walked on the Golden Gate Bridge.

我飞到过旧金山，也走过金门大桥。

It is universally acknowledged that tour can make people feel happy; traveling is a good way to relax oneself. Tourist data shows that people in China made a great contribution to the world tourism, and it’s more and more popular for people to go out for vocation. Though reports criticized that tourism had brought harm to the environment, I still believe in the rising pace of tourism.

Well, there is no denying that at this moment, tourism has caused some problem to the environment, but what I want to emphasize is that such damage are raised by people, as long as we improve the environmental consciousness of our citizens, as well as perfect the public facilities, such as adding more dustbins to convenience tourists; building cafeterias to offer meals to them. I believe within a period of time, the situation can be relived.

Environment itself also has the ability to recover itself. Years ago, when there were no so many tourists, and no industrial pollution, trees grew well, flowers smelt good, sky was blue, water was clean. Why the nature seems so unnatural now? It must be our own problem, for we have took too much, but paid back too less. Think how we treat our land. It is really unfair.

Just as I mentioned before, tourism had brought great profit to our economic, whatever scenic spot it is, it must has the relationship with our land, our trees ,our water, etc., everything can’t separated from earth. So as you see, tourism won’t bring harm to the environment, but ourselves.

It is good for us to go out to feel different culture atmosphere, and to see different local conditions and customs, but remember, protect our nature resources.

整治放假期间父母带我游览了坐落在广饶的唯一名胜古迹：孙武祠。看后令我感慨万千，从内到外装饰一新。看上去第一感觉不是古老建筑，而是刚刚新建的一处建筑。你说它是名胜古迹，恐怕没有人会相信的。

那里从内到外装饰一新，外面用油漆重新粉刷了一便。里面铺了新地毯，墙上的油漆刚刚干，屋内还有一股浓浓的油漆味。看上去并不像什么名胜古迹，而像刚刚装修的新楼房，其内摆设豪华端庄。电视上的广告作的挺好的。可是，与实际相差太远了。可以说是一个天上一个地上呀!我们在里面整整转了一圈可是就碰上了几个人，其中里面还包括一个看大门的。里面根本没有名胜古迹的神圣，因为他的本质已经被改变了，走进去让人浑身不自在。

你可以试想一下：一个人在一个全是古老建筑的屋里，而里面却有电灯、监控器、电脑。这会是一个怎样的场景，是否会令你不自在。

是的现在得人们往往会这样，为了转钱不惜把祖宗留下来的文化给改变掉。我认为这些人不配做一个中国人因为他们只认识钱。他们为了钱什么都肯做。我想如果不是人们刻意的修饰孙武祠的话这座古老的建筑会更神圣的。

I am planning to spend my summer holiday on sports this year. Playing basketball is always my favourite, so some of my classmates and I will form a small team and play basketball together. Sometimes we may have a match against some other teams and I do enjoy the sense when we win the game.

If you ask me what my favourite summer holiday will be like, traveling aound the only answer. I hope that one day I could meet different people and vist different places of interest.

I wish I could have two long holidays in a year, what about you?
