狗的领地意识很强，喜欢在自己住处附近滴上几滴尿液，留下自己的气味，好像在说：“嗨！这是我的地盘，走远点，小心把你咬得粉碎！”

狗的主要交流方式有叫声和尾巴运动。开心的时候，叫声轻快，尾巴向上，左右摆动；委屈的时候，叫声很小，夹着尾巴，迅速逃开；愤怒的时候，叫声响亮，尾巴向上，四肢张开。

狗的繁殖能力很强，一般一胎生两只到八只。狗主要吃的是狗粮、骨头和肉，食量很大。比如一只小型犬，一天能吃半斤多；一只中型犬，一天能吃一斤多；大型犬的食量最大，一天可吃两斤到四斤。
