One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to people’s health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.

To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. My suggestion is we should ride bikes more often instead of driving cars.By riding a bike, we can not only exercise our body but also protect our environment. Why not have a try, my dear friends

Last Sunday my father and I went fishing along a river. We found the water so dirty that we could hardly catch fish in it.

A lot of factories along the river always poured their waste water and rubbish straight into the river which made the river water polluted. In this way most of the fish in the river were killed.

If the river water all over the country is polluted like this， no living things will exist in the water. As we all know， environmental pollution does great harm to living things and human beings. Now more and more people have come to realize how serious this problem is. Our government is doing her best to take measures to fight against pollution. We expect that the water in every river will be made cleaner and cleaner before long.

上个星期日我和爸爸一起去钓鱼。我们发现水太脏了，我们几乎不能在它的鱼。

沿着这条河的许多工厂总是把废水和垃圾倒进河里，使河水受到污染。这样，河里的大部分鱼都被杀死了。

如果这个国家的河水都被污染了，水里就不存在生物。我们都知道，环境污染对生物和人类都有很大的危害。现在越来越多的人开始意识到这个问题有多严重。我国政府正在尽最大努力采取措施打击污染。我们期望在每一条河流中的水将在长时间内变得更清洁，更清洁。

Scientists are finding ways to stop air pollution especially in big industrial areas and densely-populated cities. They are studying new ways of generating electricity that may be less damaging to the environment. In the meantime, many power plants are being modernized to give off less polluted material. Also, engineers try to design and locate new power plants to do minimum damage to the environment.

However, it may be that we still have a long way to go before we have a clean world. Nearly all of the countries are trying hard to prevent and control air pollution. There indeed seems to be no end to tasks that environmentalists will be required to do. People will continually find new ways to control pollution

社会需要发展，发展需要环保。几天前，雾霾用灰色吞噬了整个世界，镇江市发出了红色警报。小学、初中、高中、少年宫都停止了上课，一箱箱五花八门的PM2。5口罩被一抢而空。据统计，2012年北京、上海、广州、西安因PM2。5造成早死的人数高达8572人，损失68亿人民币。光4个城市的死亡人数都那样惊人，那全国的死亡人数更是不敢想像。

“治霾最重要的是改变观念”，到底是GDP第一还是健康第一?回答是肯定的，健康第一。健康是一，如果没有这个一，那后面再多的0也没有意义。雾霾天是空气中因悬浮着的大量微粒而形成的混浊现象，是人为活动和自然因素共同作用的结果。气压低，地面灰尘大，汽车增加，尾气排放量令人不敢想象，工厂的二次污染、城市供暖带来的CO2的污染，令雾霾日益增加。我们必须要对工业、废气的污染采取措施。

人类已经感受到不保护环境带来的危害，人们保护环境的意识已经逐渐加强。地球已经以它独特的手段惩罚不保护环境的人类。

每一天少用一张纸，多骑自行车，令雾霾无机可乘，令中国摆脱“雾国”这个可恨的称号，用事实向世界证明中国会环保，中国懂得环保，中国即将成为令世界惊叹，让人民敬佩的环保大国!
