Lei Feng (雷锋; Léi Fēng) (December 18,1940 - August 15,1962) was a soldier of the Peoples Liberation Army of the PRC. Cultural Importance

Communist Chinas leaders have praised Lei Feng as the personification of altruism,the truly selfless figure. Although the historicity and authenticity of the mans story is under dispute,his cultural importance is ingrained within everyday life in China. The importance of moral character was emphasized heavily during Maos era,but Deng-era reforms have seen a moral erosion where competitiveness in social networks has paved its path. Lei Fengs prominence from school textbooks have declined since the 1970s,although he remains part of the national curriculum and many of his deeds are taught in the elementary school curriculum. The term huo Lei Feng (literally Lei Feng alive) has become a noun (or adjective) for anyone that is seen as selfless,or anyone that goes out of their way to help others.

Lei Feng was a model soldier， On December 1 8，1940， he was born in a poor peasant family in a little mountain village of Hunan Province. He didnt go to school till 1950. At the age of 18， he worked as a steel worker. He was often praised for his good job. On January 8， 1960， he joined the army. In the same year， he joined the Communist Party. He loved the Party and the people， and constantly did good for others. As a result， he became a model soldier. After his death， Chairman Mao called on the people to "Learn from Comrade Lei Feng". The whole nation were moved by his deeds. Lei Fengs spirit will live in our hearts forever.

雷锋雷锋是一名优秀士兵，1940年12月18日出生于湖南省一个小山村的贫困农民家庭里，他1950年才上学，18岁时做了一名炼钢工人，因工作好而经常受到嘉奖。1960年1月8日参军，同年加入中国共产党，他爱党爱民，经常做好事，所以他被评为优秀战士。

雷锋死后，毛主席号召。人民“向雷锋同志学习”，他的事迹感动了全国人民。雷锋精神将永远活在我们心中。

Chinese New Year! Every place has different customs, and each has its own characteristics. I had the opportunity to back to my home in chongqing this year New Years day, let me introduce you to the Spring Festival customs of tujia.

New Years eve at noon, I saw my grandma cooked a lot of rice, just curious to ask: why want to cook so much rice, we also cant eat a meal? Grandmother replied: "want to cook some more, todays day cant cook fresh rice again. For tujia people seldom eat fish, so be about to cook more, it is also called more every year."

New Years eve afternoon, grandpa and father stick couplets, I also coincided with in the past. East, west to see see. When my father asked me: "do you know why do we need to stick couplets?" I answered: "know a little bit, festive bai." "Also right, couplet to express the good wish of people to pray for good fortune in the New Year. Now we stick couplets, cannot go toward outside throwing things, even cant throw rubbish, until annual lunar calendar to throw things. This means that circle the goods at home." Dad went on to say that.

On the evening of New Years eve, the home of the elder led the family to "worship the mountain ancestor worship". On the front of ancestors grave red candle and incense, placed offerings, to miss to ancestors. This also is respect for them.

过年啦!每个地方都有不同的习俗，并且都各具特色。今年我有幸回趟老家重庆过年，就让我给大家介绍一下土家族的春节习俗吧。

除夕的中午，我见奶奶煮了好多饭，就好奇的上前去询问：为什么要煮这么多饭，我们一顿也吃不了呀?奶奶回答道：“今天要多煮一些，大年初一可不能再煮新鲜饭。因为土家族人很少吃鱼，所以就要多煮饭，这也叫‘年年有余’吧。”

除夕的下午，爷爷和爸爸一起贴对联，我也过去凑热闹。东看看，西瞧瞧。这时爸爸问我：“你知道我们为什么要贴对联吗?”我回答：“知道一点点，喜庆呗。”“也对吧，对联是为了表达人们祈求新年福运的美好心愿。现在我们贴好了对联，就不能往外扔东西了，连垃圾也不能扔，一直要到大年初二才可以扔东西。这样就表示把财圈在家里了。”爸爸接着说。

除夕的傍晚，由家里的最长者带领全家去“拜山祭祖”。在先辈的坟前点上红烛和香，摆上祭品，以表对先辈的怀念。这也是对他们的尊敬。

Hello, Everybody! I am very glad to stand here to give you my introduction. I am from Liangbing Middle School. I am studying in Class 1,Grade 7. I love my hometown Liangbing because it’s a very beautiful town.

I have many hobbies, such as reading books, listening to music, surfing the Internet and traveling. But listening to music is my favorite. I like pop music best. My idol are Jay. I am a lively girl. I like making friends and chatting with them. I can play the Chinese Kungfu. I passed all ten levels when I was in Grade 5.However, because of the busy study, I don’t have any free time to practise it. What a pity!I am good at Math and English and I like English better. In my opinion, it’s very easy and fun to learn and use English and this contest is a great chance for me to learn English from others.
