"We wish you a merry Christmas, we wish you a merry Christmas…"Have you heard that song? Yup! Its Christmas time! This Christmas, I stayed with my "host family"1. It was an amazing experience to see how a typical American family would celebrate the biggest western festival of the year.

Christmas, like our Spring Festival, has a meaning in itself. Christmas Day, which is on December 25, is the birthday of Jesus Christ--the son of God. Thats why it is called Christmas. On that day, Christians would get together with their families to celebrate the birthday of Jesus. But nowadays, the religious meaning of Christmas has become less emphasized. To many families, it is just a time of family reunion and the ever-exciting present-giving.

Our school had been on winter vacation since December 11. I stayed at my friend, Stephen Stapczynskis house--his family was my "host family". Although Christmas was still more than ten days ahead, the festive spirit had already been teeming everywhere. The Christmas tree had already been set up, and on every windowsill, there were Christmas lights. On the first day I arrived at their house, Stephen and I helped Mrs. Stapczynski put decorations on the Christmas tree. Lights shone brightly in front of nearly every house, on trees, bushes, doors, windows…everywhere, taking different shapes, making it seem almost like daytime. The street set off a lot of "ooh"s and "aah"s inside the car.4 When we left, there was a line of cars in the street, all there to see the lights.

昨天，早上我上厕所的时候起来一看我问：“妈妈我是不是起早了，”妈妈说：“不是你起早了，而是天被雾霾挡住了，”我疑惑不解的想着今天不会又看不见吧。

然后我就急急忙忙的拿了一盒饼干去作文班上学，我刚一下电梯，还没来得及戴上口罩我就闻到了一种刺鼻的味道，我就立马戴上口罩，出去一看，整个天黑乎乎的，连树叶上面都灰，转了我们小区的花园，我才知道天气是被人们污染、鞭炮的浓烟污染、尘土污染、汽车的浓烟污染的，然后我就骑上自行车，很快的赶往作文学校，这一路上我发现路上的行人很少，大多都是开车的，前面的车把浓烟喷射到后面的车玻璃上，车玻璃直接没法擦了，我们今天的作文是没法写了，但是我们见天可以玩了，我们就给各自的家长打了电话让他们接我回家，只有我一个人孤零零的骑着自行车回家。

From this, we know that health is very important to everybody. But how to keep

fit? Many people believe that sports can offer people health and pleasure. As

far as I concern, I think doing physical exercises have lots of advantages.

First of all, doing exercises in the morning will refresh my body as well

as give me a good appetite to eat my breakfast. What’s more, the air in the

morning is really fresh and clean, so I can keep my mind clear and sound in the

class. By doing physical every day I can keep my mind alert that I can finish my

tasks in time. If I do not do any physical exercise, I will feel tired and my

body becomes quite sluggish. During the night, I may find it becomes harder to

fall asleep. Second, doing exercises everyday will help me to mound a better

personality. It takes time and patient to do exercises. Sometimes I just want to

give up, but my friends encourage me to carry on, then I feel a lot of

satisfaction. Doing physical exercises makes me stronger and healthier. That’s

my personal experience.

As a student, sports are indispensable. You can pick up your favorite sport

and do it every day. Only in this way, you can have both pleasure and a healthy

body.

I like many animals, but my favorite is the giant panda. Giant pandas are rare animals in China, their hometown in sichuan province.

Liang liang is no longer the boy he used to be – he has changed greatly. Only a year ago, he was overweight and a little lazy. He got tired easily and did not like sport. His favorite meal was fried chicken and chips. One day, he realized that he couldnt continue like this. So, he decided to change. He started to exercise. He ran in the school playground every day. He also began eating a healthier diet of more fruits and vegetable, and less meat. These changes helped him lose a lot of weight. 其实，一分钟是可以干很多的事情的，在一本书上，我看到一分钟可以写二十多个字，可以走一百多步路，可以看1—2页书。看完后，我不由得惊叹起来：如果这样干一个小时，就可以写一千多个字，走好几千步路，看好几十页书，原来，只要把时间充分利用，一天中还是能多干很多事情的呀!

回想小时侯，我每次写寒暑假作业都是在寒暑假的最后半个月的最后几天完成的。为什么呢?是因为我当时的作业太多?还是因为我有什么事情而耽误了时间?都不是。就是因为我当时不好好节约时间，没有好好安排自己的时间，在一开始的时候总是玩，每天只作一点作业，直到最后才开始进行突击。正因为这样，我的一二年级的每个寒暑假都过不好，都是一个带有遗憾的假期。

大家可以想一想，有多少人因为浪费了时间而后悔莫及，又有多少人因为没有好好珍惜自己的时间，而错过了很多事。“如果当时安排好自己的时间就好了!”，“如果当时能节约时间就好了”有些人会这样说。但是，时间是不会倒流的，与其这样后悔，不如现在开始，从我做起，节约时间!

大家在过春节时都放鞭炮，因为鞭炮是为春节而制作的，所以每逢春节来临，家家户户都燃放烟花爆竹，庆祝春节的到来。放鞭炮在古代是为了赶走一个叫“年”的怪兽，“年”欺压百姓，但人们放鞭炮赶走了它。所以放鞭炮作为一种春节习俗流传至今。

除了放鞭炮，贴对联也是一种春节习俗。对联是用红纸做的，人们相信红色可以降妖除魔，所以用红纸做对联。每一家都贴有对联，门上还贴了“福”字，“福”是倒着贴的，为什么呢?哈哈，意思是表示“福”倒(到)了。

拜年也是春节习俗，我最喜欢拜年了，因为拜年可以挣压岁钱呢!拜年一般在大年初一的早上，大家都起床很早，相遇时互相问好说祝福语，然后互相拜年发压岁钱，这时候是我最高兴的时刻啦!拜完年我回家数着自己的压岁钱，心里美滋滋的。

春节的习俗还有很多，如穿新衣，大家一起吃饺子……现在这几年又举办了一些游戏，可以玩，大家都开心。春节的习俗真多呀!
