回到家里，我得意地切开我的西瓜，谁知，这个西瓜白里带一点红，刚咬一口，平淡无味；可切开爸爸的西瓜时，里面的肉全是红的，咬了一口，甜甜的。“我宣布，以后的西瓜都由你爸爸买。”妈妈大声地说。

爸爸得意洋洋地朝我一笑，看我垂头丧气，爸爸意味深长地对我说：“金玉其外，败絮其中。上一次当没有关系，只要下次不上当了。明朝的大名臣刘基也上过当。有一次，刘基听说有一个水果摊卖的橘子一年四季光滑无比，他就去买了一个，可他拨开皮时，里面都是棉絮。买东西时不能看外表，有时外表美里面不一定好吃，有时外表不美里面说不定很好吃，所以做事和做人也不能看外表。”

听了爸爸的话我思绪万千，我想：有些漂亮的女生，她只把心思放在打扮上，不用心学习，这是只重外表不重内涵，将来到社会上会一事无成。当然追求外表美也不是一个错，当今社会，我们要做到“金玉其外，金玉其中”。

为了让自己成为一个对社会有用的人，我要努力学习，将来成为一个内外皆修的人。
