大熊猫还保存着祖先独居的习性。它从小离开母亲后，就成为“流浪汉”，成天在竹林中独来独往，因此人们雅称它为“竹林隐（yin）士”。每只大熊猫都有自己的领地，这领地就是它们的“独立王国”。大熊猫的视觉极不发达，这是由于长期生活在密密的竹林里，光线很暗，障碍（ai）物又：动。因此有“熊猫醉水”之说。多造成的。此外由于它的瞳（tong）孔像猫一样是纵裂的，因此当夜幕即将降临的傍晚，它们还能活动。大熊猫走到哪里就在哪里歇（xie）息，食不分昼夜，睡不择（ze）场合。它吃了睡，醒了又吃，到处游乐，可谓“乐天派”。
