This is an evolutionarily recent adaptation. Pandas lack the proper enzymes to digest bamboo efficiently, and thus derive little energy and little protein from it.

While primarily herbivorous, the panda still retains decidedly ursine teeth, and will eat meat, fish, and eggs when available. In captivity, zoos typically maintain the pandas bamboo diet, though some will provide specially formulated biscuits or other dietary supplements.

黑白相间的身子，一副憨态可掬的样子。这就是我最喜欢的动物，也是中国的国宝——大熊猫。

去年暑假，爸爸妈妈带我去了四川的动物园玩。我看到了大熊猫，它的毛发是黑白相间的，头又圆又大，还有一个大大的“黑眼圈”，脸上镶嵌着两只黑溜溜的眼睛。耳朵是半圆形的，就像一个杯子的把手。熊猫的四肢强健有力，上面还有锋利的爪子。有着短短的尾巴，像一个柔软的小毛球。

大熊猫非常淘气。有两只大熊猫偷偷拿到了工作人员的扫帚，它们为了争夺这把扫帚，大打出手。这时，工作人员来把扫帚拿走，才阻止了这场争夺战。大熊猫不仅喜欢玩，还喜欢吃呢！

今天，奶妈给格格老大和格格二仔准备了新鲜的胡萝卜和香喷喷的窝窝头，两只熊猫迅速地跑过去，抓起食物紧紧的拿走手术往嘴里送，生怕别人抢了似的。吃完食物后，大熊猫舔了舔自己的手掌，回味着食物的美味。看着奶妈准备走了，大熊猫赶紧抱住奶妈的腿撒娇，摇头晃脑的还要一些窝窝头和胡萝卜。奶妈面对这么可爱的大熊猫卖萌，败下阵来，把剩下的窝窝头和胡萝卜送到它面前，赶紧开溜。哈哈，大熊猫达到了自己的目的放开了奶妈，开始大快朵颐的享用起来。

吃完饭后，它们要活动活动筋骨了。只见大熊猫从树上一下子抓住了吊床的绳子，然后落在了地上，游客们看到这个景象纷纷鼓起掌来。可是大熊猫毫不在意，毕竟这可是小菜一碟呢！接着大熊猫找到了目标，一个大玩具球，它小心翼翼的观察了一下，使出一招“如来熊掌”打向大球，结果没打着，反而滚到了草地上。惹得我们哈哈大笑，大熊猫觉得丢了面子，马上爬起来再战。这次它换了目标，对准了一个小熊，一拳过去小球被打飞了，看到这里，我们赶紧给它鼓掌，大熊猫看看我们昂着头走了，神气的不得了。

这些大熊猫可真可爱，看得我都不想回家了。等以后有机会，我一定要再来看大熊猫！

熊猫有几分像熊，还有几分像猫，它长着胖胖的圆圆的身体，眼睛外面套着一个“黑眼圈”，可爱极了。头上顶着两只又大又黑的耳朵，大大的脚，小小的鼻子，眼睛咪成一条缝，又有趣又可爱。大熊猫是中国的国宝，面临濒危的珍贵稀有动物，是国家一级保护动物，主要生活在我国四川的原始森林里，喜欢吃又长又绿的的竹子，最好是又大又粗的，吃起来才能够津津有味。它喜欢在大树的阴凉底下玩耍睡觉，要是有竹子陪伴着它就更好了。

大熊猫吃竹子的样子十分可爱，两只手牢牢的抓紧竹子，生怕被人抢走似的；它还很挑剔，要用嘴巴将竹皮全部去掉才吃，可能是竹子的中间又香又甜的缘故吧。有一次我去成都动物园看大熊猫，它头也不抬的吃着竹子，我怎么叫它都不理我，吃完一根又一根，偶尔在地上打个滚，可能是它吃累了吧；吃饱后用两只肥肥的爪子擦了擦嘴，就懒惰地躺了下睡觉了，看着它憨态可掬的样子，逗的我合不扰嘴。

大熊猫真可爱，我喜欢我们的国宝——大熊猫！
