Changes in My Hometown

Great changes have taken place in my hometown these years. There used to be old and low houses on the streets,but now you can see people live and work in tall buildings. In the past, you could always see rubbish everywhere. But now the environment is clean and tidy. Many trees are planted on both sides of the street, so the air is very fresh.There were not any buses in my hometown, so most of us used to walk to work or go to school by bike.However, life is much better now. Many people buy their own cars, so they go out by car.

上午十点，铃声准时打响，课间操的时间到了。同学们整齐划一的步伐和嘹亮的口号声，是这条跑道上最亮丽的风景，最动听的音符。

中午放学，从饭堂回班时，午后的阳光总是温柔地倾泻在大榕树下，映出斑驳光影，一旁，凤凰花正开得灿烂……

钟楼上的时间，滴答滴答就消逝了，最后一个六一结束后，我们便离开了钟楼，离开了大榕树，离开了凤凰花，离开了老校区，离开了无忧无虑的童年。

上学时分，放眼过去，满眼的黑与白，天空阴沉，空气沉闷。树上的叶子一动不动地喘息着，垂着头。路边的野花暗淡，学生的表情木讷，没有欢笑，没有打闹，只有蔓延开的寂静。

When we read newspapers, we often come across the wordPollution. This word was not familiar to the people some decades ago. But now, it is a serious threat to us because.it means the poisoning of the air, seas, rivers and lands, which would do harm to our health.

There are many factories that bring pollution to us. We can not have fresh air in the morning. This is mainly because of the poisonous smoke coming from factories, especially chemical ones. In rivers, seas and oceans, there are industrial wastes. Some factories just throw their wastes into seas or let them flow into rivers. Guo Jingming is a famous writer in China. I think all the students have

known him. He is also my favourite writer. He was born in 1983. He has published

The Dragon Boat Festival is a lunar (阴历)holiday, occurring (存正)on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month (农历史五月第五天)

The Chinese Dragon Boat Festival is a significant (有意义的)holiday celebrated (庆祝)in China, and the one with the longest history (历史最悠久). The Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated by boat races (龙舟赛) in the shape of dragons. Competing teams (竞争团队) row their boats forward to a drumbeat (击古)racing to reach the finish end first.

The boat races during the Dragon Boat Festival are traditional customs (传统习俗)to attempts to (试图)rescue (搭救) the patriotic poet (爱国诗人)Chu Yuan. Chu Yuan drowned (溺死) on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese citizens now throw bamboo leaves (竹叶) filled with cooked rice into the water. Therefore the fish could eat the rice rather than the hero poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings(棕子).

The celebrations is a time for protection (防护) from evil (邪恶) and disease (疾病) for the rest of the year. It is done so by different practices such as hanging healthy herbs on the front door, drinking nutritious concoctions (营养品), and displaying (展示) portraits (画像) of evils nemesis(邪恶报应), Chung Kuei. If one manages to (成功做...) stand (直立)an egg on its end at exactly 12:00 noon, the following year will be a lucky one.

I took my school report and came back home cautiously only to find mother wasnt at home. She went to my aunts and wou!d come back in the evcning. I knew that fiom a note on the table. I was still a little bit frightened as if mother would come back suddenly.

Seeing the low marks on the school report and remcmbering mothers cold face, I almost trembled with fear. lf mother know I got so low marks oa the subjects, especially English, she would tear all my cartoon books which are my fovourite. I have been treating them as my own life for a long time. But mother always thought cartoon diverted my attention from study and had a bad effect on me. Frankly speaking, I had realized it. Mother hated those books. She had warned me if I got low marks once more she would get rid of them. I Still wanted to keep those books even if I would mever touch them from then on. What should I do? I knew that any persuation was in vain. I would prevent mother from doing that.

A good idea stroke me. I gathered all the books and put them in a box. Then, I hid the box under my bed. Having done it carefully, I had a breathing spell.

Opening the English book, I sat at the desk and began to read. It was really the time that I learned English carefully, I thought.

星期六的早晨，我一起床便闻到好大一股饺子味，算算吧!咱家也是好久都没吃过饺子了。那股诱惑迷人的气味直勾勾的在我鼻子前面绕来绕去，不得不让我下床穿着拖鞋去厨房里呀!我一路小跑来到厨房，尽管全身打着哆嗦可早已忘到了九霄云外。一到厨房，我看着妈妈和外婆在那专心致志的包着，看着看着，突然心血来潮。我问了问妈妈，经过妈妈的批准之后，我拿起一张饺子皮摊平铺在手掌心上，看着妈妈用小勺子舀了一勺馅儿放在饺子皮中心上，我也学着妈妈的样子舀了一瓢。“哇!我舀的一勺好多哟!管他呢!基本上差不多就行了。”看着外婆手脚利索的样子，包的又快又好，我不禁加快了速度。再往饺子皮的边缘上抹了一圈的水使饺子不松散，馅也不会漏出来，可是我一对折的时候却露出了好多馅，这可怎么办呢?我连忙去问妈妈，外婆他们两人笑着对我说：“傻孩子，你把馅儿包多了。”我不禁脸红起来。我立马打开馅儿，挑了一些馅儿出来，这下果然好多了，接着我在轻轻一捏饺子就好了，虽然比不上妈妈外婆的饺子，但我还是心满意足，毕竟这是我自己亲手包的呀!就这样我们包了一上午，我包的有些难看，有些还是那么回事。外婆妈妈看见我包完了就连忙夸起我来，我还有点不挺好意思的呢!

就这样，中午的时候热腾腾的饺子端了上来，吃着咱家自包的饺子，我感觉到心头无比幸福、美味。这就是我的拿手好戏：包饺子。
