Since we were born as a little baby, we get help from others all the time. Our parents raise us, our teachers teach us and our friends company us. Therefore, it’s important for us to be grateful to those people who give us a hand. Being grateful is a way to show them our appreciation and our love. No one in the world is supposed to love us without any conditions. Moreover, Being grateful to others and to what you get can lead you are ready to help others, too. 我的家乡是在海西一个山城的乡村——黄坑。我家后门是一座果山。山上有梨树、杨梅树、枇杷树，还有萘、桔子树等，五花八门，品种多样。春天，果树开 花了，雪白的梨花，竟相盛开在山头，远远望去，犹如花的海洋。果子熟了，我和表姐妹穿梭在果山上，边摘，边吃，边观赏诱人的果实，陶醉在水果的香甜之中。

听妈妈讲，几年前，这里是一座又硬又贫瘠的猪肝石荒山，山上只有几棵又矮又小的松树。一天，年近花甲的舅公突然对这座荒山有了兴趣，说要让它变成果 园!舅公是个倔强的人，是个不随便说话的人。他既然说了就会努力去做。事实也是这样，他用铁镐，花了好几个月的时间，在山上挖好了一个个一米见方的坑。为 了增加土地的肥力，舅公还养了几头牛，在山上养起了鸡和鸭，它们可帮了舅公的大忙，垫牛栏的稻草、鸡鸭的粪便是最好的有机肥料，舅公给每个坑增加了不少这 样的“补药”，让果树能茁壮成长。

几年后，这些果树都成了林，结出了累累硕果。在舅公的影响下，村里的好些人家也种起了果树，才有文章开头的情景。

舅公的故事很是让我感动，他让我明白了要保护水土，首先要保护好树木。因为树木能保持水土，净化空气。只有树木多了，空气才会更清新，大自然才会更美丽。只要我们大力植树造林，水土就不会流失。

我们海西的小朋友，让我们行动起来吧，从小树立环保意识，节约用水，保护水土流失，像我的舅公一样，爱我海西，护我水土，植树造林，呵护自然，留给人类一个美丽的生存空间!把海西的水土建设更加美丽、更加富强，成为世界一流的好海西。
