Each of us has been blessed with an innate need to celebrate and glorify life. Dor and furniture crafted from natural materials like wood and stone blend seamlessly into nature. Yet we can also augment the natural world by filling our garden sanctuaries with statues, bells or gongs, or colorful flags. Running water, like that in a created stream or fountain, helps energy flow smoothly. If space is a concern, crystals and mirrors can fulfill the same function. Hidden features like concealed swings and reflecting pools veiled in shadow can surprise and delight. As your garden sanctuary evolves, remember to invite the elemental spirits of nature to assist you in your efforts to create a small pocket of harmony, beauty, and peace in your own backyard. If you have not already felt th! eir presence, sit quietly in your garden and reach out to them. You will feel these earthly guides at your side as you continue to develop your sanctuary. In the refuge of brilliant color, sweet scents, and stillness you create in your garden, the burdens imposed upon you by a sometimes hectic world will melt away. The splendor and tranquility of what you have brought into being will entrance you, allowing you to forget the constraints of time and space. 游轮靠瀑布越来越近了，而船只也在摇晃个不停，我们好像就要被巨大的瀑布吞噬一般，颠簸着……再看瀑布，几只在瀑布两旁壁飞翔的湖鸥，时而斗殴，时而鸣叫，顿时，和协交错，在滔滔不绝的瀑布声中奏出一曲尼亚加拉瀑布交响曲，同时也绘出一幅无与伦比的图画。突然我发现在瀑布与湖水的的交界之处出现了一道彩虹。瀑布在彩虹的衬托下显得更加壮观，迷人，多姿。

游轮渐渐靠岸了，我们上了岸，顺着石梯往上走，更加近距离地观赏瀑布。瀑布溅起的水花一阵又一阵地泼到我们身上，我们身处在雨雾中，好似仙境一般。过了一会儿，我们又来到了上游，这里的水波涛汹涌，很急，和黄果树瀑布的上游截然不同，它的上游是安详，恬静的，而尼亚加拉大瀑布的上游则是白浪滔天，呈现出的是不一样都美。很快，夕阳西下，我们恋恋不舍地告别了这美丽的地方。

“飞流直下三千尺，疑是银河落九天”。这次，我总算见识到了尼亚加拉大瀑布的光彩，它真是一部大自然的杰作啊！

1952年，经历了三年磨砺，卓别林完成了《舞台生涯》，为了给影片找出路并送子女赴欧洲读书，他准备再次出国。当他动身前申请再入境签证时，移民局来了四位官员。他们带着录音机、打字机和档案材料等物把卓别林无理地审问了三个小时。也许正是这三个小时的盘问，令卓别林下定决心离开美国。

一星期后，卓别林拿到了度假6个月的签证。他叫妻子乌娜从银行提取了存款，带上孩子，于1952年9月的一个清晨，登上了“伊丽莎白女王号”客船，开始了去往伦敦的旅程。

到了伦敦后，曾有新闻界朋友采访他，请他说说美国政府和报纸为什么诬陷他。卓别林说：“可能有三方面原因。一是我的电影从《城市之光》起刺痛了一些大人物;二是我的演说。二战期间我赞成援助俄国抗击希特勒，呼吁开辟第二战场，非美活动委员会就认为我同情共产党。第三，是因为我不愿加入美国国籍。”

事实证明，卓别林逃离美国的决定是正确的。为了转移在美国的财产，乌娜独自一人回到洛杉矶。看护房屋的男仆亨利告诉她，就在他们走后，联邦调查局的人来过两次，盘问了很多事情。在卓别林登上船的第二天，船上转给他一封电报，杜鲁门政府拒绝卓别林返美入境，除非先到移民局的调查委员会去，对某些涉及政治和道德的事情说清楚。对此，卓别林所做出的抉择是放弃美国。1953年4月16日，他来到美国驻洛桑的领事馆将美国移民证交还，并告诉领事先生：“我永远不再去美国了。”这天正是他的64岁生日，他以这种方式来表示庆祝。

身为中国人，就算是再玩世不恭，在异国他乡也需要点爱国情怀。我，就算一个例子。

来美国大概有四个多月了，无论走在那里，学校里，超市里，穿梭在茫茫的人群里，我与别人最最明显的区别，就是国籍和血统。人类是平等的，是统一的，但像国家这种本质的差别，就算是融入得再好，也不是同路人。

在国内受到的爱国主义教育，统统白费。而在美国这种地方生活一段时间，就是最好的教育。

每当这里的人得知我是大老远从中国来的时候，他们的第一句话就是“oh that’s so cool!”然后接下来文的很多问题就不是那么可爱了。

最令我气愤的一个问题：你父母在这里工作吗?不知道他们如何得到中国人都不工作这种印象，还是他们以为我们中国人是乞讨到美国的?我常常会以其人之道还其人之身反问道“你的父母工作么?”然后他们会很尴尬地走开了。

美国人是喜欢中国文化的，不如说喜欢古代中国文化，这点我承认。这里的中餐馆多如牛毛，装修也很富丽堂皇，刷上红色和黄色的漆，到处系写中国节或挂几幅国画等，一看就很有古典气息。他们也对中国表示很好奇，常常与我讨论。

显示谈到我的兄弟姐妹，我说我是独生子。然后他们就故作恍然大悟状的说“我才想起来，你们中国有计划生育。”其实他们早就想提到此事，故意在这坑里等着我。我将计就计，装作若无其事的样子说“嗯，没错。”他们见自己目的没达到，急了。“可你不觉得这样很不公平吗?”其实他们的目的很明显，让中国人说自己的国家不好，以表客观事实。

其实有些人遇到这种情况会对他们语重深长地讲中国的国情，虽然地大物博，却人口庞大，所以计划生育。我偏不，他们歪着说我就歪着答。我告诉他们，其实生一个是最好的，少些人受罪，更何况婴儿也不愿意出生……他们听了更高兴了，以为我的意思是在中国生活很艰辛，以至于婴儿都不愿意出生了。但我马上补充道，“生活是不是用两个极端?快乐与不快乐?”他们点头，“那么如果我们没出生，不就没有不快乐的事情了么?”这时他们就问，“那如果没出生不就也同时失去快乐了么?”然后就是我长年以来一直用的必杀句：“如果从来没有出生过，那么也不需要快乐啊。”他们无语，一边思考一边抓着头皮，连连称是。我就这样一自己的三寸不烂之舌安顿好这样的话题，保持了尊严，也保持了友好。

我常常把中文课本带到学校去，抽空看上两眼。

老外们见状，大惊曰：“我以为中国的书是从后面向前翻的，而且是从左至右竖着写的!”老外还真是老外，我想他们说的，是几百年前的中国。

英语课由于当堂随笔没有完成，将文档用email发回去。就这样与同学谈论起网络，他们问我和国内同学是否有联系。答：有。什么方式?答：发邮件。他们很吃惊的样子，嘴揪在一起呈o型。“你们中国还有网络?!”我火了，“你以为呢?”他们支支吾吾，“我…一直以为只有美国才有网络。”这些人，真的需要学些知识了!自为科技发达国家的公民，这点常识都不懂，可见他们思想多么片面。他们从来只是呆在自己的土地上，不去了解外面的世界，除了吃，其他概不感兴趣。

说起中国人的饮食，同学们还真能说来不少，什么炸酱面，卤面，饺子，包子…… 哈哈，老外还是认吃啊!好听话刚刚没几句，讨伐中国的话题又来了。“我听说，中国人都吃狗肉……”我无语。那是韩国人才对。

记得前天第七节课的同桌，一个印度人还问我：“你听说黄河又泛滥了么?淹死了很多人。”对于这种问题我只能哼哈地随便应付过去。挑毛病是不需要理由的，也不需要证据的。任何一条河都可能淹死人，和国家无关。

接下来是更有意思的，对面的非洲小孩儿又和我侃侃而谈中国文化大革命期间，学生是怎样不上课，怎样批斗老师的，死了多少所少人等等。那我就不明白了，为什么总是盯在别人血腥的地方，什么东西才那么做?蚊子还是苍蝇?美国南北战争究竟死了多少人，他们是如何残害奴隶的，这类话题他们避而不谈。

也许在美国人的眼里，法国就是一瓶香水，意大利就是一块比萨，埃及就是一座金字塔，英国就是一个大本钟，而中国，可能就是一件旗袍。他们所了解的都太片面，都只是隔着门缝看人。当然，这也是一种自欺欺人的方式，他们不想看到好的一面，不能接受中国已经发展强大这个事实，才选择逃避。或许很虚伪，却存在着普遍性。

综合上述，美国人的眼睛虽然生来比中国人的大一些，但在中国到底如何的这件事上，他们的眼睛还要再大一些!

美国海军7月30日公布的“华盛顿”号核动力航母火灾原因让美国媒体一片哗然。尽管美国军方已经下令将航母指挥官撤职查办，但仍然暴露出美国海军存在着严重的管理问题。

据美国*海军时报*网站报道，今年5月22日，“华盛顿”号航母从智利驶往圣迭戈途中发生火灾。水兵奋力搏斗12个小时才把大火扑灭。船上的核反应堆没有被波及，可谓不幸中的万幸。这次火灾波及80个舱室，大量电缆与数据线被烧毁，造成至少7000万美元的损失。这次公布的调查结果显示，火灾的原因是船员擅自在禁烟区吸烟，点燃了附近储存不当的易燃物。而没有按照规定存放、随意放置在周围的90加仑制冷缩机油更是“火上浇油”。

这已不是美国海军战舰管理第一次出现类似问题。

每天上午九点，妈妈要为我和两个妹妹打点行装，背上午餐，然后把我们送到营地。在这里，我先后学习了自己动手扎遮雨帐篷、划船、射箭、攀岩、滑索、扔飞盘，还学习玩沙滩排球、击打台球、测试短距离速跑、排练汇报演出节目等，我真的很开心啊!

最让我感觉难忘的是攀岩滑索，太刺激了!在我们营地的边缘，矗立着一个木制攀岩塔，有十多米高呢。我们九岁年龄组的营员全都参加了攀岩活动，老师要求按生日大小排序出场，我是第二个上场的。我可一点也不怯场，老师帮我在腰间扎上安全绳索，我可以手拉脚蹬攀岩塔上的铁环，逐级攀爬。黑人老师站在塔顶，我爬上以后，老师再次帮我调整好安全带，然后我就离开塔顶，沿着高悬在空中的索道，飞速的向对面滑去。那感觉真的好爽、好刺激啊!

只可惜每个人只有一次这样的攀爬速滑机会，我真的好难忘。

“太阳很好”是为了中和一下阴森森的气氛。

而“找个伴一起”，则有两个意义：一是因为我实在是属于叶公好龙的典型，需要有人壮胆;而另一却是在觉得很沉闷没圈没点的时候一起聊聊天。

片子拿到有一段时间了，却因为一直都没有勇气一个人看，而耽搁到现在。

逮到小宁在的时候，又恰巧没有其他琐事必须要在那个时间完成。于是，终于有机会，浮出水面。

起初还是明亮的色调，平淡无奇的叙述。

一个年轻的看护，因为医院形同虚设的临终关怀，而通过报纸，选择了一份私人护理的工作。

转而光线昏暗起来，一路刻意制造出来的噱头：突然出现的瞎眼老太太;荒废了一半的别墅;诸如此类的。

似乎对这种形式的恐怖有些不以为意了。

只觉得人为的痕迹多过于心理的恐惧。

一对住在私人别墅里的老夫妇，老先生因为中风无法说话和行动，老太太给了看护一把可以打开别墅里所有房间门的万能钥匙。

真正是“好奇害死猫”，但即便是不好奇，猫基本上也是活不长的吧。

偶然的机会，看护走进了阁楼里的一间密室。里面摆放着都是诡异的巫术用品，被封了眼睛和嘴的小人;符咒的唱片;照片;密封罐子里的组织……

出于好奇，看护去寻求破解巫术的方法。中风的老先生居然断断续续说出了，恐惧的根源和要逃离的居然是老太太。

故事越来越落入自己的猜想，不过就是老太太为了遗产之类的原因用巫术谋害了老先生。

几乎又要再次得意起来，自己真是无敌的编剧E啊!

可是……这一次却大大出乎意料。

看护向负责老夫妇遗嘱的律师求救，说明了自己的猜测，老太太为了实现“祭献”，要把老先生的生命占位已有用来延长自己的生命。

可是这样的坦诚却没有换来援助的双手，律师将看护挟持回了老夫妇的别墅。

好不容易逃离了魔爪，却一失足重新跌回。

在越来越深的恐惧中，看护使用了从老太太那里得到的“庇护”，用自己的鲜血和毛发在地上画出符咒。

可“庇护”的作用，并不是让她免受伤害，而是将她困在当下。

事情终于缓缓展开清晰起来。

在很久远之前，房子的主人有一对黑人夫妇仆人，这对仆人是精通巫术的术师。

某次PARTY上，这对黑人夫妇教两个孩子实施巫术，被发现时已然魂不附身被处以极刑。从此之后，传说这对黑人夫妇的鬼魂始终在房子中游荡。

可是，真实的情况却是：在实施的正是“祭献”的法术，而祭献的原理，却是“交换”。

在法术实施中，灵魂俨然已经进入到了祭献的躯体内。

重新醒转来的看护，发出的却是原来老太太的声音，她深情的称呼律师，用的是黑人男仆的姓名……

并排躺在救护车里的老太太，与老先生对望一眼，绝望。

只有当你相信的时候，巫术才会真正发挥出作用。

高潮只在影片最后十几分钟里出现。

对于我们有耐心看完全片的人来说，真是珍贵的礼物。

原本觉得不以为意的细节，在傍晚睡觉之前全部反馈出来。

竟觉得阴冷从背后生出来……

Today, my mother and I went to New York.

Central Park is big and beautiful. Fifth Avenue thing is all shops have a superb collection of beautiful things.

一支香烟重创美国核航母

美国海军2008年7月30日公布的“华盛顿”号核动力航母火灾原因让美国媒体一片哗然。尽管美国军方已经下令将航母指挥官撤职查办，但仍然暴露出美国海军存在着严重的管理问题。
