省赛的准备过程是非常艰难的，又是背台词，又是准备自我介绍，还有模拟考试。仅仅是看图说话环节，一训练就是一上午……

终于迎来了省赛。我怀着紧张的心情走进赛场，里面很安静，选手们都在努力地背词，我也不甘示弱。自我介绍环节，我们都做得非常好，看图说话环节就比较惨了，得知成绩后，我的心情非常低落，爸爸妈妈安慰我，要我别泄气，要我在下午最后一个环节加油，还特意给我复习了几遍演讲内容，我的心情又明朗起来。下午的比赛开始了，轮到我上场了，我站在台上，信心十足地完成了演讲，最后的分数还不错哦！

我的2017年“希望之星”英语风采大赛结束了，虽然我没有踏上国赛舞台，但是我虽败犹荣！这个过程中，我见识到了那些高手们的厉害！我一定要好好学习英语！我一定会回来的！明年再战！

今天早上，妈妈带着我赶往了英语风采大赛的比赛处。

是这样的，一个月前高老师让我和几个小伙伴一起去参加星光英语举办的一次比赛。

签到后，我一直非常紧张，因为我怕我会背错，或把歌唱走调。是妈妈一直陪着我，并对我说：“你是最棒的，不需要紧张，你一定会成功的。”我还看见了我的好朋友和周老师，她们都对着我微笑。这是对我多大的鼓励和支持啊!表演结束后评委老师对我说：“你的表现还不错。”这让我兴奋不已。

老师们，同学们，谢谢你们的支持。更要谢谢我的老妈，因为您辅导我写了自我介绍，一直陪着我练习。

The International Childrens Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries, usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.

The ICD had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. It is not clear as to why June 1 was chosen as the ICD: one theory has it that the Chinese consul-general in San Francisco (USA) gathered a number of Chinese orphans to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in 1925, which happened to be on June 1 that year, and also coincided with the conference in Geneva.

June 1 has since been observed as the ICD by numerous countries, especially by Communist countries; in the Western world the ICD is usually celebrated on other days of the year (if at all)， and there is often little public awareness about these celebrations. (See the section on Germany below for further discussions.) Consequently there is sometimes a misperception that June 1 as the ICD was a Communist invention. Nonetheless, in recent years even some groups within the United States started observing the ICD on June 1.

今天上午，我在火炬学校参加了青少年英语比赛，我怀着紧张的心情，走进了考场。

比赛之前，监考老师讲完规则后，每人发了三张试卷，其中一张答题卡，两张题目，铃声一响，比赛正式开始。

环节一：听力和默写。考生们纷纷拿出笔，做好了听写准备，监考老师在上面报单词，每个报两遍，考生在下面默写，过十几秒继续下一个单词。考生们都聚精会神在下面听和写，一个字也不说，安静得连考生的呼吸声都能听见，时间过得很快，不一会儿第一环节结束了。

环节二：笔试。第一题是选则题，我觉得比较简单，紧张的心情稍稍放松了一些。轻松的答题，很快便答完了。第二题是根据已知的问句用英语写答句，我看了很久，有点懵了，因为问句我看都看不懂，又没人问，根本做不出，结束铃声响了，到最后不得已放弃。

我真希望这次比赛能取得好成绩!

今年四月到六月，我参加了20xx年“希望之星”英语风采大赛。这可是全国性的比赛哦！必须要闯过海选、市赛和省赛三关，才能去北京参加中央电视台的总决赛。

参加市赛的早上，我和妈妈坐车到了目的地。当时，太阳特别大，天特别热，而且人山人海。我们到了之后赶紧报到，接着就排队去比赛了。因为我是最后一个，等了好久才轮到我，裁判先让我抽图，准备看图说话，再自我介绍。我觉得自己前两个环节表现得挺好的，最后是回答问题，这个环节有点难，四个题中我只答出两个。紧接着裁判宣布结果，我心想：肯定有我！肯定有我！结果，真的有我！我拿了市赛一等奖，进入了省赛。

Once I saw the TV show, it was about the fathers and their kids having the match, they were separated by five groups and compete for the match. At first, they were competing happily, but as the game came to the end, the last group was so worried. The father inspired his kid to stick on and finish the match, while the kid was crying because he knew he must be the last. After the match, the father told his kid that winning was not the most important thing for the match, the first thing was to enjoy the game and finish it, the result was not that important. I agree with the father, the child must be endowed with the consciousness that to enjoy the game is more important than to win. Every match can only have one win, but we can enjoy every match.

曾经我看到一个电视节目，那是关于爸爸和孩子在比赛，他们分成五个组，在进行比赛。一开始，他们比得很开心，但是随着比赛来到结尾，最后的那组显得很着急。爸爸鼓励他的孩子坚持完成比赛，然而孩子却在哭泣，因为他知道他肯定是最后一名。比赛过后，爸爸告诉孩子，对于比赛来说，赢不是最重要的，最重要的是享受比赛，并且完成它，结果也不是那么的重要。我同意那位爸爸的话，孩子必须要有这样的意识，享受比赛比赢得比赛更为重要。每个比赛只有一个赢家，但是我们可以享受每场比赛。

Some people regard hard-working as an essential quality to success while others believe being clever would lead to success. 谈到成功时，对于实现成功的原因不同的人有不同的看法。有些人认为勤奋是成功必备的素质，而另一些人则相信聪明人会实现成功。从我的角度来看，我认为毅力和勤奋对于那些想要成功的人是必不可少的。

Firstly, perseverance let people step closely towards success. Most people want to make a big difference to prove their value. People who set their goal and keep moving would make their dream come true. However, there are some people who set their goal but they stop at the difficulty would fail in the end. I think the difference between success and failure is perseverance. If we have perseverance, even if we are not clever, we will make a great difference, but if we not, we are doomed to lose. As we all know, Edison is a great inventor in the world. However, before he invented the bulb, he kept trying for tens of thousands of times to find a suitable wire. Let us imagine, if he gave up at the 999th, then how he couldn’t become so successful. So, I strongly believe that perseverance produces success.

首先，毅力让人离成功越来越近。大多数人都想用不同的方式证明自己的价值。设定自己的目标，向着目标走，就可以使梦想成真了。然而，有些人设立了目标，却在困难面前妥协了将以失败告终。我认为成功与失败之间的差别是毅力。如果我们有毅力，即使我们不聪明，我们也会有很大的不同，但是如果我们没有毅力，我们注定是要失败的。我们都知道，爱迪生是一位伟大的发明家。但是，在他发明电灯泡前，他试了为数千次去找一个合适的线。让我们想象一下，如果他在第九百九十九次放弃了，那么他就不可能变得如此成功。因此，我强烈认为，坚持就会成功。

Secondly, there is also a kind of people who are born with cleverness, I think they are lucky. Nevertheless, if they don’t make a hard work on their way to their goal, they, absolutely, will become loser. Whether we are gifted for intelligent, we must be hard-working so as to success. I regard hard-working as an efficient approach to be successful because I believe ‘pains and gains’. As for those who do not make great efforts on work, failure follows. In old times, there is a clever boy who can make excellent poem when he can talk. When his father found the little child’s cleverness, he just let the child make poems to show around while never let the boy learned anything. Chinese people always appreciate the purposes and principles of Olympic ideal, support the efforts of Olympic Games to promote world peace. The Chinese government and people are doing our utmost in preparation for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. It is our hope to make it a grand gathering that will carry forward the Olympic spirit, promote world peace and enhance the friendship among people of the world, so that the Olympic spirit will flourish once again, this time in China, an oriental country with an ancient civilization.
