中国人均水资源量只相当于世界人均量的1／4，中国人均水量不富，是缺水国家之一。在农村里自家基本都是打井取水或者引来的山泉，城镇多用自来水，自来水并不是自然生成的，那是将天然水沉淀、过滤消毒后用泵打到我们房间中的水管子里出来的。要用自来水，就得用电。节约用水，就是节约用电，节约用电，就是节约资源，保护环境。这个道理我们应该要懂。

我们要以自己的实际行动保护环境，最简单易行的，应该从节电、节水做起。比如说用脸盆接水洗脸，洗完后用来冲洗便池和拖地等等，洗澡擦香皂的时候，要及时关水龙头，喝水也要有量的概念，不能喝一口，倒掉一大杯。在家要多用节能灯，要养成随手关灯的好习惯。还有就是要倡导绿色出行，多走路，少坐车。环境的污染和破坏，治理起来得费很大力气。我们青少年是未来的主人，一定要保护环境。只要大家都能为保护环境做一些有益的事，相信我们明天的环境会更美好。

Water is the source of life.We cant live without water.However,with the increasing population and industrial development,water pollution has become a serious problem.Large amounts of wastewater go into rivers and seas directly without being treated,which can be dangerous to people.Also lots of people pay no attention to saving water in daily life,while in some place water is badly needed.

Its time for us to take some measures to improve the situation.Factories should treat the wastewater before letting it go into rivers.We can play a positive role in saving water.For example we can reuse the water for wishing rice to wash vegetables and then clean a mop.

In modern society, we tend to become more and more aware of our living environment or physical environment, because we are not clean as before. So many people now choose their house as to its environment but not its location and expenses to afford it. As we all know, the environment pollution is more and more serious during these years, what we could do is to make great efforts in protecting environment gradually. As to government pollution, as to common people. We also try to protect it and make it remain clean. Although we have managed to protect the environment to a certain extent. It is still a very long way to go.

Protect our enviorment The earth is our home,we must take care of it.We shoule make a less pollution as we know everybody in north America makes 1000 kilograms of the garbage everyday. Most of it is packaging Most of garbage turns into soil but not to plastic,plastic keeps for many years it will pollute our environment so we shouldn’t waste thing we should make some things for recycling .

在现代社会中,我们往往更加了解我们的居住环境还是自然环境因为我们不干净如故.现在这么多人选择它作为自己的房子,而不是它的位置和环境费用负担.众所周知,环境污染日趋严重,这些年来,我们可以做的是努力保护环境,逐步实现.至于政府的污染,为百姓.我们也设法保护它,使之保持清洁.虽然我们已能在一定程度上保护环境.它还有很长一段路要走.

保护我们的环境 地球是我们的家园,我们必须照顾好它我们应该使减少污染,如我们所知大家在北美的垃圾进行1000公斤。大多数都是包装大部分垃圾变成土而不是塑料制品,塑料保持多年来它会污染我们的环境,所以我们不应该浪费我们应当做些事情回收利用。

We are paying more attention on many environmental problems we made before, one of them is the water emergence. Long time ago, we never noticed that we are in a situation that the water on the earth is less than before, and the consequence is continuing.

Until recently, we have started to acknowledge that we should make the bigger efforts to save water. Therefore, so save water from every single person is important. That is why we should save water at home. If every one of us saves water at home, then the water saved together would be a huge amout. And I have some suggestions following: we could cycle the water we just used them to wash clothes to water the plants or to rush the toilet; when we wash our hands, we could turn the tap off for the moment we put soap on our hands etc.

So if we want to save water sincerely, we could save it at home .

Serious Floods

The Yangzte River is the longest river in China. And its important and helpful to us Chinese. But these days the Yangtze River is bringing us serious floods.

Many villages were destroyed by floods. The floods made hundreds of millions of people lose their homes, relatives and friends. Many children cant go to school as usual .Now the foods have drawn the attention of the whole world. People from abroad have offered their help too. In China, millions of soldiers are busy fighting against the floods. They are working very hard. Many of them have lost their lives in their attempt to save the villagers.

Though we cant help them to fight against floods, we should help them to rebuild their homeland. We can present them our pocketmoney and clothes. I believe most of the people will return to their homeland in the near future.

严重的水灾

长江是中国最长的河流。它对我们中国人十分重要。但现在长江给我们带来了严重的水灾。

许多村庄被洪水冲毁于。洪水使成千上万的人失去了家园，亲戚和朋友。许多孩子不能与平常——样去学校了。现在洪水引起了全球的注意。国外的人也给予了援助。在中国，上百万的战士忙于与洪水搏斗。他们努力工作，许多人在救村民时献出了自己的生命。

尽管我们不能帮助他们抗洪，但我们可以帮他们重建家园。我们可以捐出零花钱和衣服。我相信在不久的将来大多数人会回到家乡。

Many people believe that we have developed into a “throw-away society” which is filling with plastic bags and rubbish. What do you think?

Wind blows up bags higher and higher in the sky. It is a scary thought that some day the earth will turn into a huge garbage land. Wastes, if not treated properly, will make our life a living nightmare.

The environmental issue is getting worse almost every day in cities with very large population. As is often the case, city development outpaces environmental protection. People consume great amount of natural resources and produce wastes. To effectively address such problems, cities need to spend big money. In addition, they need to call to the attention of people to become more environmentally responsible.

Many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors. “Why should I care while others shouldn’t?” Such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work. Furthermore, people sometimes even purposely litter for revenge to other people.

Although media promotes environmental awareness, good people are often snubbed as posers who try to set up a superior image in real life. Consequently, they are intimated of receiving negative comments for doing the right thing. Wrong as it is, such phenomenon is widespread especially among youngsters and people with low income and little education.

However, our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution. People learn the harms of un-degradable lunch boxes and other polluting wastes. Laws in many countries prohibit or limit excessive use of polluting bags. Companies are continually replacing the old materials with more environmental friendly and recyclable kinds. Scientists have developed more effective technologies in waste treatment. As time goes by, more and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life.

To sum up, people produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of financial resources, sense of responsibility, or efforts. But the world will not turn into a “throw away” society if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment.
