For a young person like me t was too bad. Not until I was about sixteen years old had I outgrown t feeling of fear. Then there was that nagging feeling of loneliness either at home of at school. My father changed his job several times and with each change of his job we had to move and I had to attend a different grade school. Before I finished my elementary education I had attended three grade schools and thus it was difficult for me to cultivate enduring friendships. The feeling of being friendless was a constant source of pain to me. Those unhappy grade school days have of course long been over. I still have an abhorrence for any dismal atmosphere and lonesomeness, but hardened by experience I now find them less disturbing than they were.

The definition of happiness always causes the public’s attention. Some

people believe that making a lot of money and earning great reputation are the

standard to define success, while some people think that spending more time with

their families deserves all the things and it is their bliss. In my opinion, the

meaning of happiness varies according to different people, but there is one

thing in common, which is their positive attitude to life. I am so lucky to born

in a happy family, and my parents give me all their love. Though we are

ordinary, I am so satisfy with my life now. I cherish the thing I have.

When the national entrance examination is over, people always pay more

attention to those who are enrolled by colleges and universities. Those who

failed the examination are treated coldly. Being enrolled by colleges and

universities is, of course, worth congratulating. But giving the successful

candidates excessive praise and neglecting those who failed the examination

might send the wrong message: young people do not have a bright future unless

they go to college or university.

Teachers, parents and society, therefore, should give more attention to

students failing the examination. They are in more urgent need of understanding,

warmth and encouragement. We should tell them that to go to college is not the

only way to success, and that, if they make enough effort, they can still

develop talents in other occupations that will serve society.

Personally, the country’s economic development requires not only

specialized scientists and technical experts, but also knowledge-based workers

and skilled laborers. After some vocational training, these senior high school

students can also become backbones in their own fields and contribute their

wisdom to our society.

Pollution around us

In recent years our life is becoming better and better. But our environment is becoming worse and worse. Its very bad for our life. Now many people have air-conditioners and cars, they produce (give off ) waste gas. More and more trees are being cut down. There are so much sand on the earth (leaving only sand ) . We often see factories pour waste into rivers or lakes. Water in the river is quite dirty. We havent enough clean water to drink in cities. Now we are in danger. Its very necessary and important to protect the environment well. I think if everyone tries his best to protect the environment, the world will become much more beautiful , and our life will be better and better .
