今年的元旦可真热闹!大街上人山人海，喜气洋洋，张灯结彩。一些人提着大包小包去走亲访友，去拜年叙旧;一些人围在一起，有说有笑，笑声此起彼伏，一些人穿着漂亮的衣服，在悠闲地散步。节日的彩灯把广场照耀得如白昼一般明亮。家家户户都挂着大红灯笼，家家都打扫得彻底，一尘不染。

到了晚上，礼花怒放，鞭炮齐声。劈劈啪啪的鞭炮声络绎不绝。在什么地方都能听到人们的欢声笑语。一家人坐在桌前吃年夜饭，显得亲意浓浓，其乐融融。

客厅里的摆放比较简洁：一套大方得体的沙发、一台壁挂电视、一个玻璃茶几……靠近电视机的十字绣特别引人注目，那是姑姑送给我们的，全家人都很喜欢，就挂在了正墙上。

客厅向南是一个宽敞明亮的阳台，阳台上摆放着许多花草。爸爸喜欢养花种草，但都不是什么名贵的，用爸爸的话说，那就是“绿化美化一下环境”。但阳台上的这些花草，真的让我们这个家增添了不少的绿意和生机。

在我的卧室中，最惹眼的是那个书柜，那可是我的心肝宝贝，里面的书虽然算不上是“应有尽有”，但也算是个“小小图书馆”了。我的藏书中，数量最多的当数杨红樱的小说了，我可是杨红樱忠实的“小书迷”，用当今流行的话说就是“粉丝”，只要是出自她笔下的文字我感觉是百看不厌。

在学校里，老师常常会交给我们一些保护眼睛的有效方法，例如写作业时手要离笔尖一寸，肚子要离桌面一拳，头要离书本一尺，要在正确的地方看书，而且还要经常做眼保健操。但这些却最容易被同学们忽视。

到底是什么让戴眼镜的人飞快增加呢?这个问题在我的脑海里不停地转悠。后来，我观察了很长的时间，也从网上查了资料，最终得出了结论。第一大原因：不用科学的方法去保护眼睛。有的同学长时间的看书、上网、看电视，使眼睛经常处于疲劳状态，并且不注意眼睛卫生。虽然我们学校要求同学们都要按时做眼保健操，但一部分同学还是不好好做，有的还躲在桌子底下。第二大原因：基因遗传。有的父母是近视眼，并遗传给了自己的孩子。不过这种情况好象不多，“小眼镜儿”往往是因为不爱惜眼睛造成的。

During Spring Festival， Chinese people like having meals with their families， playing fireworks in the open air. My sisters and I played fireworks on that day. We had many fireworks. Today is my birthday and Im so excited about it. In the morning I put a note on the table for my mum and it said, "Today is my birthday, dont forget it!" At school, I got many gifts and cards from my classmates and had a lot of fun. But I was still expecting the birthday party after school.

When it was time to leave school I couldnt wait to go home. When I open the door, there wasnt anybody in the house. There was only a note that said, "Coming home late tonight,mum and dad. "I try to call them but there was no answer.I was so shocked,do they forget my birthday?How could this be! I was so sad that I couldnt eat anything. I just did my homework and waited for them.

And then,things changed completely. It was about time for dinner, my mother called and told me to go to the restanrant near our house. When I got there I couldnt believed my eyes. Everybody was there:my parents,my relatives, my friends and even my classmates. There was so many gifts and a big cake. What a surprising birthday party! We had a good time and it was the best birthday party ever.
