一.名词

写作中，学生们常把握不好名词的数、所有格以及一些集合名词的用法。

1.Hegavemeaverygoodadviceyesterday.

句中的a要去掉，因为advice是不可数名词。一些汉语概念为可数的词在英语中却是不可数的，表示数量时在要其前加apieceof，类似的词有：news,bread,work,paper,chalk,furniture,information等等。

2.Thatgirllovesreadingbook.

可数名词单数不能孤零零地放在句子里，或前面加冠词，或将其变为复数。此处最好变为books.

3.Hewentintoabooksshopandboughtadictionary.

一般表示有生命的东西的名词的所有格用’s，如mymother’scar,而此处适宜用名词修饰名词，改为abookshop.

4.MyfamilyiswatchingTV.

一些集合名词如看成一个整体，则用单数的谓语动词，如Myfamilyisahappyone.如果强调集合中每个个体的个人行为，则用复数的谓语动词。此处看电视是个体行为，应把is改为are。类似的词有：team,class,audience等。

5.Iboughtsomepotatosandtomatosatthesupermarket.

中学阶段，以“o”结尾的名词中有四个词变复数时要加es，它们是tomato,potato,Negro,hero;其余的都加s变为复数。

6.Thishasnothingtodowiththeirbelieves.（这和他们的信仰没关系。）

以f,fe结尾的词变为复数时一般去f,fe加ves，如knife—knives,

thief—thieves;而roof和belief直接加s变为复数。所以应把believes改为beliefs.

二.冠词

7.Thebosswantstohireanusefulperson.

用a还是an，取决于后面单词音标中的第一个音，如为元音用an，为辅音用a。useful的第一个音是辅音所以应把an改为a。类似的，我们说aEuropeancountry.

8.Planeisamachinethatcanfly.

plane为可数名词单数，不能单独放在句中，应在其前加冠词或把它变为复数，而本句后有amachine,因此只能在其前面加a，变为Aplane。

9.Heplayedapianoatthepartyyesterday.

把a改为the，因为乐器前用定冠词。

10.Themachinewasinventedin1920s.

在in后加the，因为表示年代用in加the再加几十的复数，如在八十年代inthe80s。

11.XiaoHongwenttoschoolbythebuseveryday.

去掉the，因为表示交通方式用by直接加交通工具。

三.代词

使用代词时请注意其单、复数，主、宾格以及形容词性物主代词和名词性物主代词的用法。

12.Heisoneofthosespeakerswhomakehisideasperfectlyclear.

定语从句的先行词是thosespeakers，为复数，因此从句中的指示代词应为复数，应把his改为their。

13.Whomdoyouthinkhasleftthelightson?

放在疑问句特殊疑问词后的doyouthink/believe/guess/imagine/suppose等都不参与句子成分。本句中去掉doyouthink后缺的是主语，应把Whom改为Who。

14.ThebosspretendednottoseeJohnandI.

John和I在句中都做的宾语，应把I改为me。

15.Thesebooksaremine；thoseinthebagareher.

her是形容词性物主代词，后面应该加名词books，或把her改为hers。

四.数词

16.Therearefourteenhundredsstudentsinourschool.

hundred/thousand/million/score/dozen等词前有具体数字时后不加s，前面没有具体数字时在其后加s和of，表示大约几百几千的概念。如two

hundredstudents（两百个学生），hundredsofstudents（成百上千个学生）。例句中应把hundreds改为hundred。

17.Theirschoolistwiceaslargerasourschool.

表倍数关系的as...as中间只能用形容词或副词的原级。因此应把larger改为large.

18.Today’shomeworkisafive-hundred-wordscomposition.

几个单词由连字符连接而组成的复合形容词中的名词只能用单数，所以把five-hundred-words改为five-hundred-word.

19.TwothirdofthestudentsinourschoolarefromAmerica.

英语表达中分数的分子用基数词，分母用序数词，分子大于一时分母后要加s，所以就把third改为thirds.

五.形容词和副词

形容词和副词容易被误用，形容词和副词的比较级和最高级也是应注意的重点。

20.Thepatientappearednervouslywhenhetalkedtothedoctor.

appear在此是个系动词，其后应接形容词作表语。所以应把nervously改为nervous.

21.Theartistworkedhardlytofinishhisdrawingsontime.

此句需要一个副词来修饰，hardly是副词，但意为“几乎不”，hard也可以是副词，表努力，因此把hardly改为hard.

22.Thisshirtismorecheaperthanthatone.

more只构成比较级，而不能修饰比较级。因此把more去掉。

23.Heisthemostsuccessfulofthetwobusinessmen.

两者相比较时，比较级前用定冠词，三者或三者以上才用most，因此把most改为more.

表不如?...时用less加上形容词和副词的原级，因此把harder改为hard.

fairly只能修饰形容词和副词的原级，可以修饰比较级的副词或短语有：much,even,still,far,alot,alittle,abit,any,no,byfar,rather等，因此把fairly改为rather.

as?as中间的词序是as加上形容词加上a(n)加上名词再加上as，因此应改为asinterestingastoryastheone.

这个词组为wouldratherdo?thando?，因此把went改为go.

亲爱的同学们：

伴随着三月温暖的春风，xx学院“以光盘为荣 以剩宴为耻”主题教育月活动如火如荼的开展着，“节约粮食”又一次构成了校园的一道美丽的风景线。节约?浪费?这两者不得不引起我们的深思。

近日，随着全国主流媒体对“舌尖上的浪费”的播报和大加挞伐，习总书记就坚决杜绝公款浪费，厉行节约、反对浪费进行了重要批示。据调查，仅我国13亿人口在餐桌上浪费的粮食一年高达XX亿元，被倒掉的食物相当于2亿多人一年的口粮。 这一个个数据有没有让你的为之震撼，再回头看看平时的自己，你是否也曾经把还没吃完的饭菜倒掉，也许在你的心里浪费一点点粮食根本就算不上什么，可是当你看到那慢慢(满满)的潲水桶的时候，难道你真的一点也不觉得可惜吗?“舌尖上的浪费”要引起我们的警觉。浪费是一种不尊重自然和他人劳动果实的可耻行为,在此，我们提出倡议：珍惜粮食,适量定餐,避免剩餐,减少浪费;吃饭时吃多少盛多少,不扔剩饭剩菜;利用手机等新媒体，参与话题#光盘行动#，微博拍照秀“光盘”;不偏食，不挑食，养成健康合理的就餐方式;积极监督身边的同事(学)和朋友，及时制止浪费粮食的现象。

“厉行光盘，反对浪费”!跟我们一起行动起来：

1、惜粮食，适量定餐，避免剩餐，减少浪费。

2、不攀比，以节约为荣，浪费可耻。

3、吃饭时吃多少盛多少，不扔剩饭剩菜。

4、请关注“xx学院团总支学生”,转发微博并参于“光盘行动”微话题讨论，发表自己的意见或建议。

High school life is so wonderful for me, and I have made many good friends.

We fight for our future together. As there are so many subjects for me to learn,

I spend most of the time studying knowledge. But deep in my heart, I like sports

so much, especially tennis. When I knew our school had tennis club. I felt so

excited and wanted to be part of it. But the problem was that what if I lagged

behind other students in study as I spent the time on this hobby. At last, I

still decided to join tennis club, because I wanted to do something special and

enriched my high school life. I tried hard to make plans for my study. At the

same time, I spared some time to play tennis. I found the balance and enjoyed

the thing l liked.

Wise people used to say that taking actions is of utmost significance in our daily life。 This is most vividly illustrated in the given picture， which shows that a father is asking his little son to study hard in the first picture， while in the second picture， the father is setting a model for the son。They happily sit together to study。 Funny as the picture， the symbolic meaning is as deep as ocean。

Studying it further， it is easy to figure out that taking actions to guide the child is the only way to fulfill parents responsibility。 Our family， for example， has been the first place to grow 。 The parents have exerted about 80% influence on the education of the kids。There is no denying that it is the parents perseverance and taking actions that really guide the the kids to succeed 。 If they never take action to do something， the children will never have a real guide to follow。 An old saying goes like this： Like father ，like son。 A wise father will do his endeavor to help his kids。 Kids ability to judge right from wrong needs to be developed， so if the adults are not setting a good example， they may lead them to a wrong way。

In a word， I believe， As long as parents give their kids the lead by practising what they preaches， their kids will surely follow their way。 They should remind the awareness that parents action speaks louder than their words。

Some people like to work alone while others enjoy teamwork. In my opinion,

everyone had better learn to work with others together because teamwork is

First, working in a team provides a chance for us to communicate with each

other. Just as the saying goes, “many hands make light job.” Working in a team,

teammates share their ideas with each other, which is helpful to create a better

achievement. Second, working in a team is a way to broaden our horizon.

Teammates in a team can learn something from each other because they are from

different places, owning various experiences and hold different views towards

things. Therefore, getting along with other teammates is also a process of

increasing our knowledge. Finally, working in a team is also a way to establish

our friendship. Teammates in a team have chances to help each other, to solve

the problems together, to share the happiness of being successful, which make a

great contribution to establishing friendship. Thus, working in a team is one of

the most effective ways to extend our personal relationships.

To sum up, to learn to work in a team is really necessary and important and

we should try to enjoy it.

Im the only child in my family, the apple of my parents eyes. my mother

and father take good care of my and give me a lot of support throughout my

life.

My father is the manager of a company and my mother is a teacher. they are

both well educated and do well in their jobs. they know that knowledge is power.

father often communicates with foreign friends and is good at english. i can

learn a lot from him, especially english. his oninion on education is as

advanced as that of my mothers. they often give me advice on my studies but

never interfere in them. they seldom force me to do what i dont like to. they

permit me to have different opinions. if something is good for me, they will

persuade me to do it as they want. many people of our age say that there is a

generation gap between their parents and them. however, it doesnt exist between

us.

My mother is a math teacher. she is very clever and good at teaching. she

can work out a problem within 10 minutes which would cost me 2 hours. i envy and

admire her. i want to be a math teacher like her.

Im lucky to have such enlightened parents. im lucky to have been brought

up in such a happy family.

为此，我们发出以下倡议：

以知为行，广泛参与，共做“勤俭节约”的践行者。从思想上崇尚俭朴，以勤俭节约为荣、铺张浪费为耻;增强勤俭节约的自觉性、主动性，不浮夸不空谈，将节约落到实处。

从我做起，拒绝剩餐，争当“光盘行动”的示范者。点菜适量，吃饱为宜，以“光盘”为荣、“剩宴”为耻，珍惜每一粒粮食，自觉维护节俭用餐的良好风气。

推己及人，互相提醒，成为“光盘行动”的传播者。监督身边同学，及时制止浪费行为;向亲人、朋友宣传“光盘行动”，劝说他们节约每一棵菜、每一粒米。

历览前贤国与家，成由勤俭败由奢。让我们共同践行勤俭节约，从“光盘”做起，不浪费每一滴水、每一度电、每一张纸，共建节约型和谐校园。

We need to follow all kinds of public rules, such as the manner rules and

the traffic regulation. If we break the rules, then all the work will be out of

order and everybody will suffer the loss. But few people just ignore the rules

and waste other people’s time and money.

Chinese high speed train has won many praise from foreign people. The

trains always start off as the timetable and reach the destination on time. High

speed train is popular by the public by its speed and punctuality, but what if

someone breaks the traffic rule? Recently, a video got popular on the Internet.

A woman was stuck in the door of high speed train and the staffs tried to stop

her but failed. She said her husband was on the way and she wanted the train to

start off later. How ridiculous it was. How could she let all the passengers to

wait for her. Everybody’s time is precious.

Though the woman apologized after the policemen’s education, what she did

discomforts the public. The way she acted wasted the public’s time. It is our

duty to follow rules and keep the public in order.
