我多么希望没有战争啊！到那时候美人鱼的歌声将会在季风中飘荡、岸边的橄榄树将会向过往的船只招手所有人都伸出友谊之手、庄稼会结出丰硕的谷物、葡萄会滴下甘醇的美酒……那是多么美好的世界呀！只要那些侵略者放弃贪婪的欲望，世间就不会有战争，就会变成到处充满快乐的乐园！

但愿我的愿望会变成事实。

1937年8月28日，“七·七事变”后，日本侵略军出于扩大侵华战争的需要，又在上海发动了“八·一三事变”。日本军部先后调集了20万大军进攻上海，同时 出动100余架飞机反复对上海进行毁灭性轰炸。
