第一次看见这个英语老师感觉就不好：一双细小的眼睛嵌在长长的马脸上，低鼻子大嘴巴，牙齿参差不齐。皮肤黄黄的，爬满皱纹。英语老师长得不怎么样，讲课时总把尾音拖得很重很长，配上滑稽的肢体语言更是令人咂舌。天哪，这种人会是“优秀教师”？

他看起来挺老，打扮的挺帅气，几乎天天都穿着西装，偶尔也穿穿常服。虽然他没生气，但他的脸异常严肃，让人不敢靠近。

这个老师太可怕了，在男同学面前简直就是魔鬼。没完成作业就让你去跑步，没背好书就不准吃饭，他放下狠言：“准备好干粮在教室，别饿死在这里！”他上课手拿一把铁尺，害怕的同学不敢讲话，不害怕的还说得不亦乐乎。如果他一铁尺下去，估计就要了半条命。

他挺负责，一词不落地讲得一干二净，什么也不留下。听懂的同学听懂了，没听懂的也还是那样。

美中不足的是他的字。他的字就像几条毛线缠在一起，让我连n与m都分不清了。每当做笔记的时候，下面的同学都叫苦连天，我戴着眼镜也看不懂他写的什么，他们抱怨：“这写的什么字啊！太难看了！”他好像听到了，笑着说出了一句：“字如其人。”

他就是许老师，我的英语老师。

要是以前的黄老师有许老师这样严格就好了。

要是许老师的字有黄老师那样好看就好了。

Miss Hou is my English teacher, she is 28, we all like her. My English is really bad at first, I am afraid of having Miss Hou’s class, when she finds this, she doesn’t blame me, she tells me that the only way I can learn English well is to fall in love with English, she asks me to watch English movie, it works. If ask me who my favorite teacher is, I will no doubt answer you that Miss Hou is my favorite teacher. She is an English teacher, she is kind to everyone, she is not like other teachers who are so strict to students. As Miss Hou is so popular among students, students learn English with high enthusiasm, that is what they return to her. Miss Hou is a good teacher.

I remember the first time I see Miss Hou, she walks in class, and then talks with students about small things. She doesn’t talk about English in the first class, everyone feels Miss Hou is so amiable, we like her so much. Miss Hou is good at teaching us, she explain the question very patiently, when we understand, she will be move to the next topic, Miss Hou is a good teacher.

我记得我第一次见到候老师，她走进教室，然后和学生讨论一些小事情。她在第一次课上并不讲英语，大家都觉得候老师很和蔼，我们很喜欢她。候老师很擅长教我们，她很耐心地解释问题，当我们明白了，她才会讲下一个题目，候老师是一名好老师。

那和蔼的眼神我久久不能忘却：“明年我们卷土重来！”

这学期我参加了英语拼词大赛，和我一同参加这次比赛的队员来自不同的班级，我们彼此之间不是很熟悉，录制完自我介绍的视频后，便再无音讯，大家便各自准备各的，迎接决赛的到来……

比赛如期而至，我们队代表英语W老师参赛，我们上场前，W老师拍拍我的肩：“加油！你一定行！”带着老师期望的我们，在第一轮却已落后4分，我们时不时望着台下的W老师，不知道他会不会觉得可惜？会不会对我们失望？但当我们决定通过那几道10分值的题目扳回一局时，却屡战屡败，三轮下来，不但没有按我预想中的进行，反而丢失了三十分，我知道，分值再高的题目，也不能帮我们赢回胜利了。

在我们队的无限自责中，比赛也接近了尾声，我们的W老师作为英语教研组长为台上的选手颁奖。“三等奖中的三等奖”（最后一名）的我们，恨不得找个地洞钻进去，W老师看到有意躲在人群中的我们，大步走到我们身边：“来，让我给我的孩子们颁奖！”说着，我们每个人的脖子上也多了一块奖牌，W老师递给我们一个和蔼的眼神：“一次输赢说明不了什么，大家努力了就好，好好复习，明年的拼词大赛我们卷土重来！”我望着W老师那张亲切的脸，他的眼神里没有一丝责备，更多的是关爱，我不禁心生暖意，是啊！明年我们卷土重来！

第二天的英语课上，W老师对昨天的拼词大赛进行了总结：“想必大家昨天都去观看了拼词大赛，我认为比赛的输赢并不重要，努力的过程才是根本。当然，大家应该积累比赛经验，每次比赛都是一次不平凡的经历，老师希望大家能积极参与各类学科活动。这次代表咱们班参赛的是L同学，请大家给予她热烈的掌声。”说完老师再次递给我一个和蔼的眼神，为我鼓起掌来，全班响起雷鸣般的掌声，我也下定决心：“明年拼词大赛一定好好努力，不让同学失望，也为老师争光！”

那和蔼的眼神我至今不能忘却，好的，“明年我们卷土重来！”

在教棒和粉笔的共同飞舞中，在老师声声叮咛，鼓励和无微不至地呵护下，多少位良师被学子深深地印在心里啊！

我在这里写的是一位普普通通，平凡得不能再平凡的人民教师，５０来岁，由于终日为我们不辞辛苦的操劳，脸上布满了皱纹，她的两眼黑得发亮，锋利的目光，仿佛要把什么刺穿似的。我有点害怕。她只教我们还不到四个月，但是，每当我想起她时。她对我们的严就像教练训练运动员那样一丝不苟；她对我们很关心，体贴，就像对待自己的儿女一样。 但是，那一次，我尽对她起了怨恨。那是一节自习课，英语老师让同学们把作业本Ａ订正好交到办公室去批改，作业本Ｂ作好的也去批改。我怀着喜悦的心情拿着作好的Ｂ去批改，＂报告＂＂进来＂她的声音很平稳，我走了进去，队伍并不长，我跑到英语老师右边去批改，无意间发现了电脑里有语文竞赛的成绩，我便很期盼得到自己的成绩，不听话的手尽往鼠标地区前行，不经意间，我触摸到了，这下手更不听使唤，一直往下翻动着，＂啊＂我目瞪口呆，倒数第三，我的喜悦心情沉淀了下来，＂谁呀，谁在动我的电脑？＂一声果断而又严厉的语言向我发起进攻，我吓了一大跳，我心里想：哎呀，这下怎么办呀，不如来个死不承认，或者，英语老师的教棒在桌上＂吃吃＂作响，＂把手拿过来。＂我害怕极了，真想使用一下神仙的仙术，把英语老师的教棒变成长长的棉花棒，只有我能看见，而老师看不见，软软的棉花棒触摸了我一下，＂哇！＂教棒落下来了，打得好痛呀，我有点生气，心里暗暗想着；你这个老太太，太坏了，我只不过碰了一下鼠标，看了电脑屏幕一眼，也不过如此，您竟打我，只要教育几下就行了嘛，我可是个怕痛的女孩。我心中的怨恨一直不能平静。但刚想完，那教棒的滋味和对老师的怨恨跑掉了，我寻找着，发现它屹立在英语老师身上展现出来的无可抗拒的人格魅力上。

她总穿着比别人温暖的衣服，长得虽不出众，但是她的人格魅力在我心中是最出众的，那一次英语课，因我们作业做得不好，而被英语老师斥责了一翻，最使我深受教育的是这样一句话：我做事情，要做就要做到最好。＂这声音在教室里久久回荡，震撼着我的心灵。一颗＇作一个高尚的人＂的种子便埋下了，自从那节课后，我猛然发觉自己长大了好多好多，幼稚正向我告别。我的心底默默地感谢这位教我如何做人的英语老师。

My grandfather is an eighty-year-old man. He always complains about how fast things have changed, and he often says that life used to be better.

Families aren’t families the way they used to be. A lot of families have broken down. If husband and wife have problems with their marriage, they no longer stay together. And mothers used to stay at home and take care of their children, but now not anymore. Everyone’s working. No one has time to look after children at home.

And the cars! No one walks anymore. Everyone drives. We used to walk five miles to school every day, even in winter. But now we don’t. And in school, the children don’t have to think anymore. In math class, for example, we used to add, subtract(减), multiply(乘) and divide(除) in our heads. Kids don’t use their heads anymore. Instead, they use calculators(计算器).

Most families have computers now. In the past, we didn’t have computers. We didn’t even have lights. My mother used to spend all day cooking in the kitchen. But now nobody eats home-cooked food any more.

And people don’t talk to each other anymore. They are too busy to talk, too busy to eat, too busy to think...

Life used to be simple, but it isn’t anymore.
