1．开门见山法。

In Tianjin,there are many buildings of bygone times.Some of them are

imposing and have great artistic and historic value.However,these buildings do

mot fit in well with each other,because most of them were built by foreigners in

different times.The traffic in the city is not very convenient.The street are

usually narrow and twisted.If the government wanted to have them widened,a large

number of buildings would have to be pulled down.Some buildings are too old and

are nothing more than cottages,and in place of them,some new high buildings have

been set up.However,the new ones are still few and in many places they seem

quite out of place.

Yet those Western-style buildings give Tianjin a different characteristic

from other cities and those new ones lend the city fresh vitality which will

spread rapidly with the reform going on.

Everyone has a family. We all live in there, and from there to get warm, there are six people in my family, my mother, father, grandfather, grandmother, sister, and me. We live a happy life together, our house has many interesting stories, especially mom and dad.

My father works hard. He is a driver, he always do his best to handle each car, try to make them comfortable. Sometimes, he worked too hard to forget to date.

My mother is a very bad memory. She would do a lot of housework, but sometimes because of her carelessness while doing something wrong. For example, one day, she use the washing machine wash his clothes, and finally found himself forgot to water in the washing machine.

Now let me tell you a funny thing: one day, the father thought as usual to get up early, but because he doesnt set the alarm clock the day before yesterday, so he got up late, when he woke up, he hurried to brush my teeth wash my face and went off to work, my father left, mother said to me mysteriously, "he must be back in a moment." "Why?" I am very surprised. "Because today is Sunday, his holiday." Mom just then, a little later, my father came back, and went to bed again, because he is too tired.

You see, what an interesting family! I hope you have a family like me.

我妈妈是一位记性很不好的人。她总是做很多家务活，但有时却因为她的粗心而做错事。比如说，有一天，她用洗衣机洗衣服，最后却发现自己忘了在洗衣机中放水。

现在让我告诉你一件有趣的事：一天，爸爸想像平时一样早起，但是由于他前天没有设置闹钟，所以他起晚了，当他起床时，他匆匆忙忙地刷牙洗脸就去上班了，爸爸离开后，妈妈神秘地对我说：“他一会儿一定回来的。”“为什么?”我十分惊讶。“因为今天是星期天，他的假日。”妈妈正说着的时候，不一会儿，爸爸就回来了，并且再次上床睡觉了——因为他太累了。

I, the undersigned, am a senior in the Computer Science Department of Tsinghua University. I ordered a book which is entitled Practical Writing and Reading for NETEM by Wang Li on December 20th, 2004.

However after reading the book on January 10th, 2005, I found that it is a pirated one so that I write to you for complaint.

The book has brought me some negative effects. To begin with, much of my valuable time and energy have been wasted in reading the book since it is quite hard to identify many words in the book. What’s more, I have not benefited from reading the book since some of keys to the exercises are misprinted.

I would like to be informed whether you can refund me the money or change another book for me. I am looking forward to your early reply.

The spring festival is the day that the families get together.

It is usually in the February. At that day, every family will paste the lucky inscriptions, fire the cracker and eat the dumplings. The day before the new years first day is the new years eve, same as the Christmas eve, all the families get together to have the new years dinner, wish each other, talk about the wishes about the new year.
