大熊猫憨态可鞠，性格温和。胖乎乎的身子穿着黑白两色的经典毛皮大衣——四肢和肩膀是黑色的，尾巴和身体是白色的，显得尊贵而慵懒；圆圆的大脑袋上张着一双乌溜溜的黑眼睛，最逗人的是黑眼睛外面长着一圈黑眼圈，就象戴着一副大墨镜，好一个爱时髦的家伙；头顶上还有两只毛茸茸的耳朵像两个黑色的小绒球。

听碧峰峡大熊猫基地的工作员说，大熊猫每天睡觉时间占53%，吃饭时间占45%，玩耍时间占2%。是既能吃又能睡的动物，难怪长得这么胖。

大熊猫有”竹林居士”之称，最喜欢吃新鲜的竹叶和竹笋，冬天也不冬眠，还要倒处找竹子吃，你看它抓起一大把竹子吃得多香啊！

大熊猫有”熊猫醉水”之说，喜欢喝水，喝足了水就象喝醉了的醉汉一样倒头就睡。吃饱了，喝足了再美美地睡上一觉，醒来后，爬爬树，做做操，再吃再睡，大熊猫的一天看起来悠闲又舒适。
