A Day in My Summer Vacation 在暑假里的一天
Last summer I spent a two-week vacation at my aunts place. My aunt lived alone in a mountain village, with a small river winding its course everyday.
One morning I went fishing in the river, where two women washed clothes. I fimnd a most favorable point. Casting out my line I waited anxiously for a bite. Suddenly there came a cry: "Help! Help!" I looked in the direction of the call and saw a boy falling into the river. Throwing the fishing pole, I dashed over like an arrow, jumped into the river and swam very quickly towards the boy. Who cares! It was my happy time, when I finished all the things. I went out with my friends almost everyday. Sometimes we played games or sport or went hiking. Sometimes we went shopping in the evening for the sun is too heavy in the daytime. We felt uncomfortable. But now there are two days left before the school opening time. So I have to stay at home for a good rest to store energy for my study. Everything is so perfect. It is 11 o’clock. I think I have to say good ninght now.

This July, I graduated from primary school. I was enrolled to a good middle school. Therefore, I had a happy and leisure summer holiday. In the middle of July, I attended to a summer camp. It’s about English. There were twenty five students in the camp. We all like English very much. Together, we studied and played. There were many activities, team work or single performance. We tried our best to put ourselves into this big family. Most of the time, we talked to each other in English. If we really don’t know how to express in English, we could ask for help. Our teachers were so great that they could help us a lot. They were so active that make us acted as they did. I am happy to attend this activity.

Can money buy happiness? Different people have different opinions. Some
think yes, while others hold the opposite.
It is true that with enough money one can buy all the things one wants, and
live a life of comfort and security. However, it is equally true that lack of
money causes great distress. It is a common view that "money is the root of all
evil." The pursuit of money drives many people to cheat and steal. In some
places there is nothing that cannot be bought with money, resulting in corrupt
societies where everybody is miserable.
So, money does not necessarily mean happiness. It all depends on how it is
used. If we make honest and sensible use of money, it can be a stepping-stone to
happiness l Although money cannot buy happiness, it can make happiness possible
if it is employed sensibly.
