is so excited about the PE class, because they can enjoy freedom and play for

fun. Extra-curricular activity provides students a different way to broaden

should not be limited in the classroom.

My mother is sixty-three years old, and for the last forty year she has

been the village doctor. She has a small clinic that she prepares medicine and

treats small injuries, and also sells canned powder milk. Our house has people

in and out at all hours of the day and night. The villagers always like to come

to her clinic to see the doctor and to meet their neighbors, too. Almost all the

villagers come to my mother when their baby is due. My mother is very good at

predicting the day the baby will come. Sometimes my mother will not get enough

sleep if the babies come late at night or early in the morning. There are

special rooms for the mother and baby, and usually they stay at the doctors

house about twenty-four hours. We always like to see the new babies get their

first bath because they look so red and small. All the village people know and

trust my mother because she is such a quiet, kind, and experienced friend of

theirs.

Today is the first day of te new term. I got up early and checked my wintcr vacation homework before going to sclool.

While I was busy clearing up the books, Father came in with a glass of milk in his hand, Drink it up, boy .Father said to me gently.

I was in such a hurry that Ipaid no attention whether the milk was hot or not. I drank a mouthful and cried with the sound of the broken glass. What’s the matter.? Father asked anxiously. The environment of the city is getting worse and worse today. There are wastes, air pollution and so on. What can we do to save our city? About the wastes, we should sort the wastes, to see if they can be recycle used; use the reusable shopping bag instead of the plastic bags. About the air pollution, we should go to school on foot or by bike; we should also ask our family not to use car as much as possible, take the subway or bus instead.
