Many people believe that human activity is causing the earth’s temperature

The earth’s temperature is rapidly changing. As a result there has been a

lot of climate change such as heat waves, droughts and floods. Scientists

believe that this is the result of human activity, which is polluting the

Earth’s atmosphere. This could become a disaster if governments do not act to

help prevent global warming. They can act in three ways; by supporting research,

by making laws and by keeping the general public informed.

Firstly, governments can support research. For example, they should

encourage companies to develop vehicles that cause less pollution. They should

also support alternative sources of electricity from wind and water rather than

from oil and coal. As well, they should sponsor conferences to discuss the

effects of greenhouse gas emissions and possible solutions to the problem.

Secondly, they should make laws that limit the amount of greenhouse gases

that companies can emit. Private companies should be rewarded for following

these laws. They should also be punished for creating pollution.

Finally, everybody is affected by global warming. Therefore, it is

important that governments involve individuals in the problem solving process.

For example they should encourage households to save as much energy as possible

by using more efficient light bulbs or less hot water. They should also

encourage the public to recycle, and this should be compulsory for everyone.

Another way of saving energy is by public transport systems. Governments should

spend money on public transport to make it as easy as possible for the public to

save energy.

In summary, it is clear that there are a lot of things that governments can

do to prevent global warming. They should involve companies, support scientists

and encourage individuals to protect the planet.

Honesty is long-lasting virtue of people all over the world. Likewise, it

is also one of the deeply-held values of the Chinese people. Some people believe

that in the market economy, honesty tends to be obsolete. In my opinion, honesty

will never be out of date no matter what the situation might be.

Firstly, honesty has been treasured and honest people have been respected

of interactions among people. People should treat each other sincerely and open

Diligence enables us to academic results. As we all know,academic results

Today, the young generation likes to stay up, because after a day’s working, they will find fun at night, so they are getting home very late and then wake up late, too. Recently, I have seen an impressive film –Precious, which tells the growing

experiences about a pretty fat black girl, Precious Jones, a girl living in the

Harlem. The film reveals the poor and miserable life in the Harlem, but at the

same time, it encourages people to take a positive and optimistic attitude to

face it, no matter how difficult it is.

Precious is so undereducated that she can not read and write formally.

What’s worse, she is usually knocked around by her irascible mother. Worst of

all, she is sexually assaulted by her stepfather and has two children before the

age of seventeen. Owing to the situation she gets involved, she has to leave

school and is introduced to alternative school. After waging many struggles and

overcoming many difficulties, she finds the goals of life again with the help of

In the film, Precious insists on keeping her children all the time though

she gets involved in trouble. She has a firm belief that she can get rid of the

past life and start the new one and she really makes it finally. Her insistence

tells me that keeping positive and optimistic would make a great contribution to

achieve dream.

In life, many people are easy to feel frustrated by meeting a bit of

setback. As far as I am concerned, we need to learn to keep positive and

optimistic when facing difficulties so that we have more power to keep and

pursue our dreams.

In high school, Chinese students study very hard to fight for the future

college, while in western countries, students are spending time in taking all

kinds of activities. Though students from different countries have different

ways to spend high school time, they make the decision and take charge of their

Serious Floods

The Yangzte River is the longest river in China. And its important and helpful to us Chinese. But these days the Yangtze River is bringing us serious floods.

Many villages were destroyed by floods. The floods made hundreds of millions of people lose their homes, relatives and friends. Many children cant go to school as usual .Now the foods have drawn the attention of the whole world. People from abroad have offered their help too. In China, millions of soldiers are busy fighting against the floods. They are working very hard. Many of them have lost their lives in their attempt to save the villagers.

Though we cant help them to fight against floods, we should help them to rebuild their homeland. We can present them our pocketmoney and clothes. I believe most of the people will return to their homeland in the near future.

On the weekend I like to spend time in library. I like reading books. There

are many people in the library, but it is very quiet. Nobody talks in the room,

only the sound of page turning. I’m very interested in the space, so I read a

lot of books about space. Recently, I read the book Martian. It is about an

Since I was a little child, I was taught that dont give up forever. My

mother told me that teaching me how to walk was a tough task. When I just

learned how to walked, I fell down frequently, but she or my father never helped

me to stand up, because they wanted me to stand up by myself. After fell down

again and again, I finally learned walking. My parents were proud of me. Now,

whenever I meet with a problem or get into trouble, no matter how hard the

Before I was five years old, I did not like to eat fruit. I only like meat.

you felt you had known him all your life. I soon learned that he hated to give

There are two legends which claim to explain the tradition of eating mooncakes. One Tang Dynasty myth holds that the Earth once had 10 suns circling it. One day all 10 suns appeared at once，scorching the planet with their heat. It was thanks to a skillful archer named Hou Yi that the Earth was saved. He shot down all but one of the suns. As his reward，the Heavenly Queen Mother gave Hou Yi the Elixir of Immortality，but she warned him that he must use it wisely. Hou Yi ignored her advice and，corrupted by fame and fortune，became a tyrannical leader. Chang-Er，his beautiful wife， could no longer stand by and watch him abuse his power so she stole his Elixir and fled to the moon to escape his angry wrath. The second legend has it that during the Yuan Dynasty，an underground group led by Zhu Yuan Zang was determined to rid the country of Mongolian dominance. The moon cake was created to carry a secret message. When the cake was opened and the message read，an uprising was unleashed which successfully routed the Mongolians. It happened at the time of the full moon，which，some say，explains why mooncakes are eaten at this time. Mooncakes are usually stamped with Chinese characters indicating the name of the bakery and the type of filling used. They are usually presented in boxes of four which indicate the four phases of the moon. When I was very small, I was so envious about the adults, because they

could do whatever they wanted and did not have to depend on their parents. For

me, I did not have money and my parents limited my pocket money, so I couldn’t
