Spring Festival is the most important festival in China .It‘s to celebrate

the lunar calendar ’s new year .In the evening before the Spring Festival

，families get together and have a big meal .In many places people like to set

off firecrackers .Dumplings are the most traditional food .Children like the

festival very much ，because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes

.They can also get some money from their parents. This money is given to

children for good luck . People put New Year scrolls on the wall for good

fortune .

The Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long .People visit relatives and

friends with the words “Have all your wishes ”。 People enjoy the Spring Festival

，during this time they can have a good rest .

Olympic Games is the biggest event for the players, because it holds every

four years. I remembered that my father watched the games at midnight many years

ago, and I did not understand why he was so crazy about it. Now I watched the

game with him and I started to appreciate the charm of sports. No matter what

the result is, standing in the biggest stage and competing with the greatest

rivals make the players feel proud. They chase to be higher, stronger and faster

and these are the spirit of Olympic Games. When the audience see the players

break the record and challenge human being’s limitation, how excited it is.

When I was a primary school student, my family and I took a trip to five

cities which were in the south of China.

First, we came to Nanjing by plane. That was the first time I had taken the

plane and it took us an hour and a half to get there. We arrived in Nanjing in

the morning. At 11:30 we went to a restaurant to have lunch. The food tasted

delicious. In the afternoon we went to “Zhongshanling”. It was the place that

preserve the tomb of Mr. Sugshan.

The next day, we came to Wuxi and then Suzhou where we visited the region

of rivers and lakes of “周庄”. It was a beautiful and old place. The house there

were along the river and the women always washed clothes at the bank.The fourth

day, we came to Hangzhou where We visited “The West Lake. It was very beautiful

and the water was clear .

As we all know, Hangzhou is famous for silk and tea, so we bought some

beautiful silk and famous tea of “龙井”.The last place that we visited was

Shanghai. It was one of the biggest city is China. The night view in Shanghai

was more beautiful than Beijing. We visited the TV tower of “东方明珠”. It was the

third tallest tower in the world. Standing in the tower you could see the whole

city. In the evening, we lived in a hotel with 25 floors. I was very excited

that evening.

This trip took us seven days and we went back to Beijing by plane. The

plane was very very big. There were three engine rooms. I felt happy and I would

never forget the trip.

If I were to leave my home for a year, there is one thing I definitely

would take with me: my cell phone. With my cell phone, I could call my friends

or family if I ever was lonely, needed advice, or just wanted to talk.

If life is a banquet,Friendshipis a flower. Friendship is to our life

what water is to fish. If you are in trouble, friends will surround you and

remove the barriers for you. Friendship plays an important role in our daily

life. I’ll cherish my friendship forever.

When I was in Grade 3 in senior high school, because of serious headache, I

couldn’t go to school. The doctor said that I must have a rest for a week. Once

hearing that, I was anxious. The step of Gaokao approaches. The subjects are

quite difficult. One night at eleven o’clock when we heard someone knock the

door, mum opened the door. Li Ming came in .He walked towards my bed and asked

my body. Then he said he would help me with the subjects. I didn’t agree with

him .After a day’s classes he was very tired. But he insisted on helping me with

the subjects. In the end, I agreed. Whether it was fine or not, he came

punctually. I was deeply impressed by his kindness. Apart from helping me with

the subjects, he also comforted me. And I felt better. As proverb says “If you

tell your sorrow to your friends, your sorrow will be reduced by half.” I

thought he had helped me a lot. If he had not helped me with the subjects at

that time, I firmly believed I would have fallen behind others. I felt an

immense gratitude to Li Ming. I was happy to have such a friend.

To sum up, a life without a friend is a life without sun. Friendship is one

of the most valuable things in life. We should treasure our friendship.

As the technology and economic is developing, the environment problem is

becoming a severe problem, and the people are seriously affected.

The sustained damage to the environment has caused a serious problem, such

as air pollution, sand storm, extraordinary weather, and diseases etc., people

suffer from what they have done to the environment.

However. People have realized that it will be too late if they don’t do

anything to prevent things from getting worse. For example, there is an “Earth

Hour” on a Saturday of March of each year. It is a global movement, usually it

lasts from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. It is also called “Light-off for One Hour”. During

this hour, all the light will be turned off. The purpose of this movement is not

only to save energy, but also to warn the people to realize the importance of

protecting the mother earth, and to stop violating the environment.

On October 1, I did not go out as usual.

Since it was National Day, 61th anniversary of my homeland, like many people, my parents and I just sat in the couch and watch TV.

Today is Dragon Boat Festival. My mother let me watch the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival from the computer. In fact, it was a memorial to Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan was a patriot. He wanted to make his country strong and often give advice to the king, but the king did not like to listen and he drove him out of the country.

Once the Qin state came to the state of Chu, the state of Chu was quickly defeated, the country was soon lost, and Qu Yuan was more sad. In the early May of this year, five, he moved a big stone and threw himself into the river. Since I go to middle school, I stay away from home and live in school from

Monday to Friday. The first time for me to leave home made me felt so lonely. I

did not have friends here and no one to count on. But I told myself that I

needed to try to be independent. So I solved all the problems by myself, I

washed my own clothes and cleaned the bed, which were done by my mother before.

I found that I could take care of myself without my parents’ help. What’s more,

I made good friends here, we had the same interest and we helped each other in

study. A year passed, I learned a lot and became independent.

When I was younger , I went through an thing which deeply influence me.

One day,I went to school as Usually. All of a sudden,I heard a voice

crying.I knew there were something wrong . So I walked towards the direction of

the voice .Then I found a child and his mother wandered off.My heart full of

compassion . So I decided to help him find his mother , and I took him to the

police station nearby . Then I went to school in a hurry , but when I arrived,I

found I’m still late . After my teacher’s preaching , I went back to the

In the afternoon, my teacher asked me go out,he said he had wronged me. And

Hello everyone.Today Im glad to be here to give a speech about my fresh

experience in China Agriculture University.

First I must say the campus life is really different from what I have

experienced in high school.For instance,I used to lean upon my dormitory teacher

to wake me up on time.But now I have to set several alarm clocks to make myself

could hear them in the morning otherwise I would miss my class.And then even

worse there would be nobody remind me except my teacher!So the differences are

everywhere and I could easily find them.The change of life is great and its

wonderful:I have more time of my own and the rights to decide how I live.

My campus activities are rich and colorful.Learning English has become a

habit to me cause I plan to study abroad in next few years.Playing Guzheng is my

favorite activity.I have kept on practising it since I was a little girl and I

wish to win more competitions in my campus life.

Our university has the first level equipments and the most experienced

teachers,also has the best students(laugh).I consider it to be a honor that Ive

got a chance to study here and I sincerely hope that we could live wonderful

lives in our campus!

what s your plan for dragon boat festival?

As a chinese, I was really ashamed of having a little knowledge of dragon boat festival. Perhaps I was born in northern city, though my city is nearby sea, it has been built a U port which I can only see cargo ships and can t see the sweeping ocean. So I have never see the dragon boat contest since I was born. So the dragon boat festival is just a holiday for eating Zong Zi . My mother made Zong Zi when I was a child. Because there was no supermarket, we couldn t buy finished product from market. However, now, we can buy anything in supermarket, so my mother didn t make them anymore. The boat festival began to fade out my mind.

In reality, young people began to have a bug to celebrate foreign festivals, such as Christams, Saint Valentine s day, April Fool s Day, some people also celebrate Easter in church. Talk about Dragon boat festival, it s the same as some foreign conventional festivals, such as Witch s Day in Czech. People burned the witch s puppet so as to welcome spring. Some people are willing to celebrate foreign festivals because they like alien culture. And vice versa, foreigners who like China also concern about Chinese traditional culture.

After new holiday regulation, we have three holidays during the dragon boat festival. So many people will choose this time to travel. People who lived in Xiamen are able to visit Xiapu or Wu Yi mountain, these tourist attractions are in Fujian province,which is suit a short tirp. but I d like to stay at home for my decorate painting. I decide to draw two canvases about Christmas, it s really a big project. Then I ll hang them on the new house wall. I must start it now, or I can t finish them before Christmas eve. But I preceive it s a little difficult to draw them in such a hot season.

Friend plays important role in our lives. Everyone needs his or her own

friends. Some people make friends easily but some do not. And “friend” means

differently to people. Some people think friends should stay together all the

time, but some others think that share and support is the real meaning of

friend. From my point of view, friend is the person who will always be with you

no matter what happens. It’s the person who can share your happiness as well as

sorrows.

In the past hundred years, there have heen frequent natural disasters, such

as floods, droughts, mud-rock flows, seismic sea waves, earthquakes, windstorms

and the stretching of new deserts. The disasters have killed millions upon

millions of people, destroyed countless homes, and wiped out numerous pieces of

fertile land.

Now more and more people become aware that those disasters have much to do

with what we have done to the earth. We have cut down too many trees in the

forests,we have badly polluted the environment, we have shocked our own

home-planet time and against with tremendously powerful explosions of nuclear

bombs. As a result, climates have become abnormal, rainwater rushes down

hillsides angrily, and the underground energy goes up to revenge itself on

us.

The earth is our only home-planet. It is urgent for us to stop damaging it,

and to do our best to protect it and make it a lovely place suitable to live in,

for we have nowhere to go and survive except where we are now.

I have a dream. When I grow up, I want to be a scientist. I want to make a

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China。 Everybody likes it because its a family get-together。 You see it is called"Mid-Autumn Day"， so it often es in September or October。 It is on the 15th of the 8th of the lunar month。 Now， lets say something about this interesting festival。

Secondly， I11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day。 Look!Theres a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly。 All the family members are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air。 They are eating the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky。 That is a family reunion dinner。 The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family。 I think this is one of the most valuable things in the world。

Thirdly，it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn Day。 My wishes are: the first， I， an astronaut in the future， would like to go to the moon one day， and stay with the sky and stars; the second， I hope every person in the world will stay with family， share love from the family forever; the third， I hope everybodys dream will e true。

That is the Mid-Autumn Day in my mind。 I will always re-member: East or West， home is best。

My Mother is a kind of gentle woman. She is always very gentle. She takes

good care of her children and keeps them all at school. I have one brother and

two sistets. So she gets four children in all. She gives us every comfort. We

all love her and she loves us also.

My mother has too much to do in bringing us up. As our family is too poor

to keep a servant, my mother has always to do very much work. She gets up very

early and sleeps very late every day. She works hard, yet without

complaining.

She is also a thrifty, and industrious woman. She saves every cent that she

can and keeps everything in order. As she has been busy eversince she was young,

she looks older than she really is. Her face is wrinkled, her hair becomes

silver white, but she works as hard as ever.

The shared bikes like Mobike and Ofo bring great convenience to people. You

needn’t lock them by simply using your smart phone. They can take you where the

subway and bus don’t go. And they can be left anywhere in public for the next

user.

However, bad things happen. Some people damage the QR code on the bike, or

use their own lock, which causes trouble to other users.

In my opinion, it’s difficult to turn these people’s ideas in a short time.

Therefore, bike-sharing companies like Mobike and Ofo need to do something. For

example, those who damage the bike should pay for their actions. Also, because

people use their real name to register as a user, it’s a good way to connect to

one’s personal credit.

In the end, what I want to say is to take good care of public services.

The people I respect the most is my father. He is a doctor. He always busy

with work. Since I can remember, he never spent a whole weekend to stay with me.

He goes to the hospital very early before I get up, and comes back home after I

sleep. But I doesn’t matter at all, he is hero to me. He devotes almost all the

time to his patients, many lives are saved. He always said, a man should have

There are many different beliefs about the origin of the Lantern Festival.

But one thing for sure is that it had something to do with celebrating and

cultivating positive relationship between people, families, nature and the

higher beings they believed were responsible for bringing/returning the light

each year.

One legend tells us that it was a time to worship Taiyi, the God of Heaven

in ancient times. The belief was that the God of Heaven controlled the destiny

of the human world. He had sixteen dragons at his beck and call and he decided

when to inflict drought, storms, famine or pestilence upon human beings.

Beginning with Qinshihuang, the first emperor to unite the country, all the

emperors ordered splendid ceremonies each year. The emperor would ask Taiyi to

bring favorable weather and good health to him and his people. Emperor Wudi of

the Han Dynasty directed special attention to this event. In 104 BC, he

proclaimed it as one of the most important celebrations and the ceremony would

last throughout the night. They clean it all up in the morning.

Another legend associates the Lantern Festival with Taoism. Tianguan is the

Taoist god responsible for good fortune. His birthday falls on the 15th day of

the first lunar month. It is said that Tianguan likes all types of

entertainment, so followers prepare various kinds of activities during which

they pray for good fortune.

Yet another common legend dealing with the origins of the Lantern Festival

speaks of a beautiful bird that flew down to earth from heaven, which was hunted

and killed by some villagers. This angered the Jade Emperor in Heaven because

the bird was his favorite one. Therefore, he planned a storm of fire to destroy

the village on the 15th lunar day. The Jade Emperors daughter heard of this

plan, and warned the villagers of her father’s plan to destroy their village.

The village was in turmoil because nobody knew how should they escape their

imminent destruction.

However, a wise man from another village suggested that every family should

hang red lanterns around their houses, set up bonfires on the streets, and

explode firecrackers on the 14th, 15th, and 16th lunar days. This would give the

village the appearance of being on fire to the Jade Emperor. On the 15th lunar

day, troops sent down from heaven whose mission was to destroy the village saw

that the village was already ablaze, and returned to heaven to report to the

Jade Emperor. Satisfied, the Jade Emperor decided not to burn down the village.

From that day on, people celebrate the anniversary on the 15th lunar day every

year by carrying red lanterns on the streets and exploding firecrackers and

fireworks.

There are many stories on how this festival was created. One other story is

about a maid. In the Han Dynasty, Mr. Eastern was a favorite advisor of the

emperor. One winter day, he went to the garden and heard a little girl crying

and getting ready to jump into a well to commit suicide. Mr. Eastern stopped her

and asked why. She said she was a maid in the emperors palace and her name was

Yuan-Xiao.

She never had the chance to meet her family after she started worked at the

palace. She missed them so much every 12th lunar month. If she couldnt have the

chance to show her filial piety in this life, she would rather die. Mr. Eastern

promised her to find a way so she could reunion with her family. Mr. Eastern

left the palace and set up a fortune-telling stall on the street and disguised

himself as a fortuneteller. Because of his reputation, many people asked for

their fortunes.

But every one got the same prediction - a severe fire accident on the 15th

lunar day. The rumor spread quickly. Everyone was worried about the future and

asked Mr. Eastern for help. Mr. Eastern said, "On the 13th lunar day, the God of

Fire will send a fairy lady in red to burn down the city. If you see a lady in

red wearing green pants riding a black horse on that day, you should ask for her

mercy." On that day, Yuan-Xiao pretended to be the red fairy lady. When people

asked for her help, she said, "Im the messenger of the God of Fire and came to

check on the city and Im going to set up fire on 15th. This is an order from

Jade Emperor. He will watch from the heavens.

I will give you a copy of the imperial decree from the God of Fire. You

should go to ask your emperor to find a way out." After she left, people went to

the palace to show the emperor the decree which reads "The capital city is in

trouble. Fire burns on the palace, and fire from Heaven burns all night long on

the 15th." The emperor of Han Dynasty was very shocked. He called and asked Mr.

Eastern for advice. After pondering for a while, Mr. Eastern said, "I heard that

the God of Fire likes to eat Tang-Yuan (Sweet dumpling). Does Yuan-Xiao often

cook Tang-Yuan for you? On the 15th lunar day, let Yuan-Xiao make Tang-Yuan.

Your Majesty will take charge of the worshipping ceremony and you will give

an order to every house to prepare Tang-Yuan to worship the God of Fire at the

same time. Also, deliver another order to ask every house in the city to hang

red lantern and explode fire crackers. Lastly, everyone in the palace and people

outside the city should carry their lanterns on the street to watch the lantern

decoration and fireworks. If everything goes this way, the Jade Emperor would be

deceived.

Then everyone can avoid the fire accident." The emperor happily followed

the plan. Lanterns were everywhere in the capital city on the night of the 15th

lunar day. People were walking on the street. Fire crackers kept making lots of

noise. It looked like the entire city was on fire. Yuan-Xiaos parents went into

the palace to watch the lantern decorations, and Yuan-Xiao made a big lantern

and wrote her name on the lantern. They happily reunited together after her

parents called her name. Everybody was safe during the night. The emperor of Han

Dynasty had a new order that people should do the same thing every year. Since

Yuan-Xiao cooked the best Tan-Yuan, people called the day Yuan-Xiao

Festival.

Young people were chaperoned in the streets in hopes of finding love.

Matchmakers acted busily in hopes of pairing couples. The brightest lanterns

were symbolic of good luck and hope. As time has passed, the festival no longer

has such implications.

Those who do not carry lanterns often enjoy watching informal lantern

parades. In addition to eating tangyuan (simplified Chinese: 汤圆; traditional

Chinese: 湯圓; pinyin: tāngyuán), another popular activity at this festival is

guessing lantern riddles (which became part of the festival during the Tang

Dynasty), which often contain messages of good fortune, family reunion, abundant

harvest, prosperity and love.
