Dear Tom,

Thanks for your letter which finally caught up with me in London. I suppose youre keen to hear how the trip has been so far. So heres a short description of whats happened.

Well, you remember we left Sydney on Monday and arrived in London 24 hours later. After such a long and exhausting flight the first thing we did was to have a good, long sleep. And after that?a good meal to make up for all that horrible airline stuff!

The first real day of our holiday was spent just walking around London to get a feel of the place. After that, however, we were more particular and planned each day carefully.

First, we looked at all the historical sights, such as the Tower of London, the Houses of Parliament, the British Museum and the National Gallery. Then we visited some other famous places, such as Kew Gardens and Hampstead Heath. Finally, we took a one-day trip to Oxford, which is really the most marvelous town. You should make sure to go there when you visit England.

After we had seen a lot of London, we flew to Paris. A t first, we didnt like the place-I suppose because it was so different from London. Later, though, we began to really love it and started to appreciate its differentness.

The final stage of our trip is a visit to Rome, after which we will be staying in Singapore for two days before returning to Australia.

它就像我的保护神一样，一见了陌生人就咬，我见了，就赶快把它抱回来。有时候它不听话了，我也不会对它不好。因为它是那样生气勃勃，天真可爱。它吃食的时候，更是可爱。狼吞虎咽，吃了一碗又一碗，好像永远吃不饱似的。看着它的吃相，我着急了:“这么能吃，我可怎么养活它哟!”

但是说到这里，就不得不提起一件让人伤心的事情来。

在离开石门的前一个晚上，居然发生了一件奇怪的事情:我的狗突然不见了。急得我在屋里屋外找了一遍又一遍，最终还是没有找到。我无奈的叹息道:“我的小狗啊，你在哪里呀?快点出来吧!我找得你好辛苦啊!”

第二天，要离开石门了，仍然不见我的小狗出来。我只好离开了石门。坐在火车上，我泪流满面。我是多么的想念它啊!

今天，是我国的传统节日，新春佳节。

今天，我非常高兴，不仅看春晚，会有好吃的，好玩的，而且会有新衣穿，更重要的是会有很多压岁钱!

早饭过后，我迫不及待的穿上了新衣服和爸爸妈妈出发了。

晚饭过后，放烟火开始了，炮声阵阵，震耳欲聋我不由的捂住了耳朵，礼花弹放出去飘落在空中五彩缤纷美极了!

走过街道，在建筑工地里，我看到了攀沿钢铁柱子上的建筑工人。他们是多么强壮，有力，她们又是多么朴实，善良。他们的背已被钢架压斜，她们的容颜早已抹上石灰，但他们还是美的....

同学们，当你还在浪费粮食时，你想过没有，这些粮食可能是农民伯伯早早的起来劳动产生的，正所谓“谁知盘中餐，粒粒皆辛苦。”我们不仅要学会劳动，还要尊重他人的劳动成果。劳动是人类生存和发展的基石。没有劳动就没有我们这个缤纷的世界。

劳动不仅是美丽的，劳动也是艰辛的，需要我们付出辛劳和汗死。因此我认为每个人的劳动成果都应该受到尊重。劳动人民用自己的勤劳和智慧，为整个世界做出了巨大的贡献!“鸟美在羽毛，人美在勤劳。”劳动，是人的一生中必要的。开头，我们也设想了世界如果没有劳动会怎摸样。我们的世界就会一片混乱。所以，让我们劳动起来吧

只有辛勤劳动，才能点燃智慧的熊熊大火;只有辛勤劳动，才能获得宝贵的生活、生产知识;只有辛勤劳动，才能攀上成功的巅峰。劳动人都是美丽的。

Birthday

My birthday is on Sunday. My parents are going to have a birthday party at home. I invite my friends to come to the party.

At the party. They give me many small presents. Such as cards， picture books， pens.

They sing Happy Birthday to me. My mother makes a big cake for me. I cut the cake into small pieces and give them out.

We sing and dance.We have a good time at the party.

The shortage of housing is one of the most serious problems facing many big

cities in China. Though the government has spent a large sum of money on

housing,the investment has not been very resultful and a housing shortage still

exists. Two generations sharing one room and newlymarried couples finding it

difficult to have a house of their own are still common cases. Housing shortage

is a problem that requires an immediate solution.

Peoples attitudes towards the solution to the housing problem are

different. Some suggest building more tall apartment buildings; others believe

that we should develop underground housing areas. I am in favour of the former

opinion. For one thing, it is cheaper to build upward than downward. For

another, living underground for a long time will do harm to peoples health.

Above all,people are unwilling to live underground with artificial lighting and

they prefer to live normally on the ground to enjoy the sunshine.

Although there may be some other ways to solve the housing shortage

problem, I believe to build more apartment buildings is one of the feasible

solutions to the housing problem.

生活需要感恩，需要懂得珍惜。 Life needs gratitude and needs to be cherished.

说到母亲，想起了看过的一部电影。一个机器小男孩，想要找到童话中的蓝仙子，期望她能够将它变成正真的小男孩，那样他的妈妈就会喜欢他了。于是，他冒着死亡的危险，来到了海底一个被废弃的游乐场，在那里，他看见了蓝仙子的雕像。于是他一向一向祈祷，期望蓝仙子将它变成人类。但是雕像只会微笑，其他什么也不会但它还是在祈祷，直到寒冰封住了它。

两千年过去了，它被外星人唤醒了，外星人深入它的记忆寻找关于人类的资料，同时想帮忙它完成愿望。但机器人不可能变成人类，所以它们照着记忆给了它一个家，还将它的妈妈复活了。可只有一天的时间。他们两个人一齐捉迷藏，做蛋糕，还帮它洗头。但妈妈不明白这些让这个机器小男孩感到了前所未有的幸福。到啦晚上，妈妈要睡觉了，她不明白她一睡就不会再起来了。男孩没有告诉她，睡觉的时候依然紧紧的牵着她的手电影结束了。

看完电影，我想：这些再平凡但是的事，在一个渴望得到母爱的人的心里，多么不容易啊。此刻的我们，大多是独生子女，所以父母对我们恩爱有加，如果我们对母亲不去理解的话，是不是太不就应了。平时母亲给我们关爱，呵护，我们是不是要懂得感恩?不要说长大后，将来怎样怎样样，从此刻就开始行动，给她们捶捶背，洗洗碗，让她们简单简单，并感受到我们也爱她们。等到她们退休了，给她们一个依靠，让她们也感受到我们对母亲的呵护

我想，什么时候，也给我妈做一顿饭呢?
