an essential part of the Festival.

Lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the

lanterns. If visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out

and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. If they are right, they will

get a little gift. The activity emerged during peoples enjoyment of lanterns in

the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of

wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

reunion. So people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the

family.

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern

dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and

beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent

lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fireworks

from the Spring Festival and let them off in the Lantern Festival. Some local

governments will even organize a fireworks party. On the night when the first

full moon enters the New Year, people become really intoxicated by the imposing

fireworks and bright moon in the sky.

二、对孩子多一些鼓励。我常对孩子说，只要你尽力了，就可以了。每一个人的起点不同，我们不能太高的要求自己的孩子。只要你的孩子用了心，尽力了，就是考得不好，也要鼓励他，对他的压力不要太大，现在的孩子正处在一个成长期，我们做家长的，也应该理解一下孩子，少用命令的口气，多用商量的口气，给孩子一些自己管理自己的空间，给孩子创造一个良好的学习环境，这样才能让孩子轻装上阵。

1、为孩子创造一个良好的家庭学习环境，有相对独立的、安静的学习场所。以平常心对待孩子，与孩子交朋友，让孩子感到亲情，驱除压力感，有话乐意向你说，有苦愿意向你诉。

2、采取鼓励为主，批评为辅的方法。多一点时间和孩子在一起，多一些沟通。多表扬，多鼓励，少批评，少指责。每个人都有惰性，孩子贪玩是天性，我们大人也一样，一天工作累下来你也想休息休息，对于孩子的贪玩不能一味指责，而是要鼓励他快把功课复习完了再去玩。家长有些时候还是要做出牺牲的，陪着孩子看看书、看看电视，陪他玩耍，让他感受到父母的关怀和爱意，

3、培养健全的人格，鼓励孩子多参加集体活动，增强集体荣誉感。如学校举办的各种活动，因为只有在活动中孩子们才能体会到集体的力量和自己真正的快乐。

三、家长要放低姿态，以平和的心态、平等的观念对待孩子，做孩子的朋友。成为孩子的朋友，才能为孩子提供一个轻松、快乐的生活、学习环境;成为孩子的朋友，孩子才会乐意与你谈心，有苦愿意向你倾诉，你才能及时掌握孩子的心理与学习动向，及时发现问题并纠正问题;成为孩子的朋友，以孩子的眼光看世界，陪孩子一起读书、看电视，引导孩子多看、多言、多思，提高孩子的语言能力和鉴赏水平。因为，语言是思维的外衣，语言能力的增强，可以极大的改善孩子的学习能力，促进思维发展。

四、言传身教。孩子成长初期的认知水平较低，模仿水平较高，我们给他们讲道理，特别是大道理，他们不会太懂，而我们的所言所行，就会像一面镜子在他们身上产生潜移默化的作用，是好是歹，后果不可估量。所以我们做家长的要以身作则，时刻做好模范表率作用，用自身行为来教育孩子，增强孩子辨别是非的能力。

五、鼓励为主，批评为辅。特别是我们__是非常需要鼓励的孩子。俗话说：数子千过，莫如夸子一长。耐心、鼓励和表扬可以激励人的自信心，自信则是每一个成功者共有的特征。小孩子的心理承受能力很差，大人的一句表扬或批评的话，在他们看来往往就是对他们整个世界的评价。所以，我认为，就孩子的日常行为而言，做得好的方面，要及时提出表扬，同时，也要有针对性地指出不足处，并提出更高要求，这样，她就会牢记自己的优点，逐步改正缺点，循序进步。

六、帮孩子树立正确的人生观和价值观。人生，就如同一次单程远航，人生态度，如同远航的方向，方向对了，能避免少走弯路，快速前进;树立了正确、积极的人生观，人生就能达到更高的目标，实现更大的价值。

七、培养孩子的社会责任感、同情心和良好的自身素质。在当今物质充盈、物欲横流的时代，具备良好品德能使人增强品位，提升品格，一个富有社会责任感、富有同情心的人往往会有很好的人缘，而好的人缘能让孩子在现今的社会中更好的发展。从小培养孩子“善良、诚实、勤劳、勇敢、谦让”的良好品德，将使孩子一生受益无穷。

家长和老师之间的沟通是不可缺少的。向老师了解孩子在学校的最新情况，也及时把孩子在家的表现告诉老师，达到共同教学的目的。

看着孩子一天天的变化，作为家长，我看在眼里，喜在心上。我知道，孩子所取得的每一点进步都离不开各位老师的谆谆教诲，离不开同学们的无私帮助，也离不开家长的辛勤付出。我有理由相信，有我们的陪伴，有老师的科学指导，孩子们一定会健康地成长，他将会是我们的骄傲!

Winter holiday is coming. I am so excited.

In this winter holiday, I am going to take a trip with my parents by plane.We are going to Beijing. Then, I am going to go ice skating there. I am going to see the snow. I will play with the snow. I am going to make a snowman with my sister. Then we are going to visit the Great wall. At last, we are going to go back home by plane.

That will be fun in the winter holiday! I can’t wait!
