I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to apply for the scholarship?

坪街的老房很破很破，砖从黄色变成了黑色，砖的菱角边早已磨损了，露出里面的那些石子，从低处向上看，房屋上的瓦片已经烂得不成样子，房子都很矮，只有两三米这么高，忻州市只有水利大厦有十七八层高，现在，人们有钱了，平街的老房很多都拆了，盖成了高楼大厦，宏伟的建筑，比如：日月大酒店、五台山大酒店、移动通信大楼，等等。有好多好多都没说呢，这些说起来只是冰山一角，如果你有机会去了忻州，就会发现我所言不假。

Spring Festival was my favorite Chinese festival when I was a child. At

感恩池的鱼儿听见了春的召唤，也开始游动了。他们神气地摆着自己的大尾巴，好像在说：“瞧!我的尾巴多漂亮!你们有吗?”五彩斑斓的鱼儿正在水里举行游泳比赛呢!红、黄、白、黑一起上场。他们绕过了一块块坚硬的石头，游得飞快。到终点啦!鱼儿欢快地摆动着自己的身体，表达自己获得胜利的喜悦心情。一串串彩色的音符正徐徐地升入天空呢!

春，累了，停了，但这美妙的旋律却还久久的回荡在校园里……。

寒冷的冬天悄悄溜走，春姑娘迈着轻盈的脚步缓缓走来。 Sliding away quietly in the cold winter, and the spring girl slowly walked slowly.

你看那白色的梨花、粉红色的桃花、红色的海棠花、黄色的油菜花、五彩缤纷的迎春花，它们争先恐后地开放着。望着这些争奇斗艳的花，我的心都醉了!

你瞧，河边的柳树长出了嫩绿的新芽，细细的柳枝在微风的吹拂下轻轻舞动着。树下静静的小草从泥土里探出头来，地上好像插遍了一片片密密的松针。河里的水哗啦啦地流淌着，好像春天的琴声!

春天来了!我们看到了她，我们听到了她，我们闻到了她，我们触到了她。

我喜欢春天!春风轻轻地吹，春雨悄悄地下。它真是一个播种希望的季节，它真是一个彩色的季节，所以我热爱春天!

日复一日，年复一年，我看着小伙伴们都渐渐长大，却天真的以为自己不曾长大。十二岁，一个溢满了欢笑的年龄里，暮然回首，用心思索流逝的岁月，试着从模糊的记忆里搜索几点浅浅的足迹回想过去的那些年，童年时竟发生了那么多美好的事情，有声有色、有笑有泪，许许多多的情感交织在一起，令人回味。 day after day, year after year, I watched my friends grow up, but naive thought that I had never grown up.At the age of twelve, a laughing age was full of laughter, looking back, thinking about the passing years, trying to search for a few shallow footprints from the fuzzy memory to think of the past years, so many occurred in childhood.Beautiful things are colorful, laughing and tears, and many emotions are intertwined, which is evocative.

记得那是一个夏天的晚上，我一个人在房间里玩耍，因为调皮，下巴碰到了桌子边缘，导致下巴裂了一个好大的口子，鲜血直流，疼的我大声的哭了起来，爸爸妈妈闻声跑到我的面前，看到满脸血的我，抱起我就往医院跑，到了医院缝了七针，有了那一次的教训，让我从此学乖了，那年我五岁。

时间似长江水滚滚流，转眼间，一(2)班有一个“一问三不知”的我。老师亲切地问：“你知道周恩来的故事吗?”我摇摇头说：“不知道!”“那你能复述一下课文里说的故事吗?”老师又一次温和地问。“不会。”这样吧，你先回答课后第二题，“老师，我不知道怎么回答!”此时的我，声音越来越低，我不知道那是一种什么样的感觉，那年我八岁。

两年的时光在快乐中飞逝，三(2)班的角落里坐着一个“不自信”的我，赵老师站在讲桌前，眼光在班里四下搜索问：“哪位同学能概述这位农民的特点?”我一下就想出自己的答案，可手刚刚抬起，却又犹豫了，我对自己说，还是算了吧，万一我答错了，同学们肯定笑话我的，于是，刚刚上抬的手又安安稳稳地摆放在课桌上了。

当老师公布正确答案时，我恍然大悟，原来自己的答案是对的，为什么?为什么我总是不相信自己呢?我有些沮丧，那年我十岁。如今，五(2)班的教室里，坐着一个大胆发言的我，因为我每次都把老师的提问当作一次机会、一次挑战，机会越多，知识也就越丰富，而答对后的收获则是一份难以描述的快乐。

妈妈常教育我：做什么事都不要畏畏缩缩，要敢于尝试，这样，成功的概率也就会越来越高，千万不要“不懂装懂，永远饭桶”。如梦如烟的往事中，我欣喜地发现自己也在成长，欣喜地发现成长不仅印在红红的奖状上，也深深浅浅的印在自己平凡的生活里。十二岁的我，在成长，在快乐的成长。
