文言文翻译的基本方法有直译和意译两种。 所谓直译，是指用现代汉语的词对原文进行逐字逐句地对应翻译，做到实词、虚词尽可能文意相对。直译的好处是字字落实；其不足之处是有时译句文意难懂，语言也不够通顺。

所谓意译，则是根据语句的意思进行翻译，做到尽量符合原文意思，语句尽可能照顾原文词义。意译有一定的灵活性，文字可增可减，词语的位置可以变化，句式也可以变化。意译的好处是文意连贯，译文符合现代语言的表达习惯，比较通顺、流畅、好懂。其不足之处是有时原文不能字字落实。 这两种翻译方法当以直译为主，意译为辅。

二、具体方法：留、删、补、换、调、变。

“留”，就是保留。凡是古今意义相同的词，以及古代的人名、地名、物名、官名、国号、年号、度量衡单位等，翻译时可保留不变。

“删”，就是删除。删掉无须译出的文言虚词。比如“沛公之参乘樊哙者也”——沛公的侍卫樊哙。“者也”是语尾助词，不译。

“补”，就是增补。（1）变单音词为双音词；（2）补出省略句中的省略成分；（3）补出省略了的语句。注意：补出省略的成分或语句，要加括号。

“换”，就是替换。用现代词汇替换古代词汇。如把“吾、余、予”等换成“我”，把“尔、汝”等换成“你”。

“调”就是调整。把古汉语倒装句调整为现代汉语句式。主谓倒装句、宾语前置句、介宾后置句、定语后置句等翻译时一般应调整语序，以便符合现代汉语表达习惯。

“变”，就是变通。在忠实于原文的基础上，活泽有关文字。如“波澜不惊”，可活泽成“（湖面）风平浪静”。

古文翻译口诀

古文翻译，自有顺序，首览全篇，掌握大意；

先明主题，搜集信息，由段到句，从句到词，

全都理解，连贯一起，对待难句，则需心细，

照顾前文，联系后句，仔细斟酌，揣摩语气，

力求做到，合情合理，词句之间，联系紧密。

若有省略，补出本意，加上括号，表示增益。

人名地名，不必翻译，人身称谓，依照贯例，

“吾”“余”为我，“尔”“汝”为你。省略倒装，都有规律。

那是五月的一个晴天，我乘车去九华山。当车行在半山腰时，我看到一片绿树和竹的海洋。树木直挺指向天空，而白云在蓝天上漂浮。

公共汽车沿着弯弯曲曲的山路开到了缆车站。登上缆车，很快就悬于空中。山和亭子都在脚下。然后，我们来到了十王峰下，这是九华山所有山峰中最高的一个。那条捷径很陡，十分难爬，只有少数勇敢者走这条路。跟着导游，我手脚并用爬了起来。这是体力和意志的考验。

导游不断提醒我们爬山不看景。山中狭窄的台阶引导我们步步登高。直到山顶。停下来喘气时，我看到蜡烛石和倚天独立的松树。

爬山在继续，我不由得想起盘山开道的劳动者。他们的劳动多么有意义啊!我们终于到了山顶。但见松鼠跳跃着欢迎我们的到来，云雾自山下腾涌而起。站在高处往下一看，一切尽收眼底。多么壮观，令人启迪。

The Dragon Boat Festival， also called the Duanwu Festival， is celebrated on

the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. This

festival is to commemorate the death of QU Yuan， an upright and honest poet and

statesman who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in a

river.

The most important activity of this festival is the Dragon Boat races. It

symbolizes people‘s attempts to rescue Qu Yuan. In the current period， these

races also demonstrate the virtues of cooperation and teamwork.

Besides， the festival has also been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous

rice). Zongzi is made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and

wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves. People who mourned the death of Qu threw Zong

zi into the river to feed his ghost every year.

With the changes of the times， the memorial turns to be a time for

protection from evil and disease for the rest of year. People will hang healthy

herbs on the front door to clear the bad luck of the house. Although the

significance of the festival might be different with the past， it still gives

the observer an opportunity to glimpse a part of the rich Chinese cultural

heritage.

端午节，又称为端午节，定在第五个月的第五天据中国日历。这个节日是为了纪念屈原的死，一个忠厚老实的诗人和政治家据说在河流溺水自杀。

这个节日最重要的活动是龙舟竞赛。它象征着人们的努力救屈原。在当前时期，这些比赛也证明合作和团队合作的优点。

此外，节日还被吃的粽子(糯米)。粽子是糯米做的塞满了不同的馅料包在竹叶或芦苇叶。人哀悼屈原的死亡把粽子扔进河里喂他的鬼魂。

随着时代的变化，纪念转向防止邪恶和疾病是一个时间的。人们会把健康的草药挂在前门清理房子的坏运气。虽然这个节日的意义可能与过去不同，它仍然使观察者看到的机会丰富的中国文化遗产的一部分。
