soon became sick of this, and so wanted him to stop. But Marlin just won’t; and

went on helping and helping and helping… nobody knew when he was going to stop,

promised, he worked very hard to earn money. Although he was just a little boy,

money, he would buy the music box, and hand it to that poor boy.

Marlin did anything he could to earn money: Sweep the floor, clean his

room; grow plants, water them, and cut flowers for the house. When he had

already $90, he had decided to help other people. When it was already winter, he

took a shovel and helped his neighbors, friends to shovel snow; and they paid

him a great deal of money.

At last, Marlin had got enough money; he was so excited that he hopped here

and there ten times! Finally, he went to the store near Sunshine school, and

bought the music box, and then handed it to the same boy at his home. Marlin

soon became famous, and he was called, ‘Marlin Blavatsky.’

With the rapid development of the technology，many inventions have

appeared.As a result，with the help of these inventions，our life has changed a

lot.For example，television sets.TV is my “best friend”.Every time when I leave

school and go back home，I will turn on the TV at once.I like the programme

Outlook on CCTV 10 best. It’s an English programme and it helps me learn many

English words and foreign culture.I also love the TV station called Phoenix.I

can learn a lot form Phoenix.What’s more，I can know very well about what is

going on at home and abroad.

It’s hard to imagine life without TV.If there is no TV，we can’t enjoy the

enjoyment with others and we won’t learn about what’s happening in the

world.Thanks to TV，I have a more colourful life.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

I like rabbits. They are cute and beautiful. Their eyes are red and their tails are short. They like eating carrots and vegetables . I have one at home . It is in a small cage. My idol in my heart is liu xiang. He is the world famous athlete. In all

kinds of game， he has won 50 gold MEDALS， 13 silver and 6 bronze MEDALS.

In the 2004 Athens Olympic Games， he won the mens 110 m hurdles hurdles

my idol in my heart.

My father and I not have more than ten years, I cant forget the most is

his figure. Last winter, my grandmother passed away, also one -my fathers

message, is it never rains but it pours. I from Beijing to guangdong to hasten

home to my father, to guangdong to see father, looked at the thing in the house

full of mud, and think of grandmas face, can not help but tearful shed tears.

ABC Store, I had used it only a few days when the space bar broke.

I took it to a local shop, they told me it was factory defect and suggest I

take it back to ABC. ABC accepted the machine and sent the part in. I waited

three months, and since your company did not send a replacement, they let me

have the space bar from another typewriter. Now, six months later, it has broken

again. I took it back to ABC. They are no longer carrying your typewriter, but

they assured me that the guarantee is still good and suggested that I write you

for further instructions as to what steps to take.

I will appreciate anything you can do to help us on this matter.

Mid-autumn Festival is a popular and important lunar harvest festival

celebrated by Chinese people. The festival is held on the 15thday of the eighth

month in the Chinese calendar. There are some traditions in this holiday. For

example, people would have a big dinner with their families. After dinner, they

often enjoy the full moon which is round and bright. The other tradition of

mid-autumn festival is eating moon cake. Moon cake is the essential of that day,

which means reunion. As time goes by, there are various kinds of moon cakes, but

they are much more expensive than before. I like mid-autumn festival because my

families will get together and have a big dinner on that day.
