College life is much different from high school life. In college, we should acquire knowledge as well as improve our integrated abilities. There are a lot of English classes for us to learn, such as Basic English, Oral English, Listening, Reading, Writing, Translation, Grammar, English Literature, and so on. I enjoy these classes very much. Except English, we have many other subjects to learn. Life seems so busy here but it’s so fruitful for me.

学习上需要独立。当今有很多学生并不把学习看成是自己的事，经常要父母监督着、责备着来学习。有的人埋怨自己的父母不是大学生，自己比别人落后就觉得理所当然，但其实，学习最终还是要靠自己。诚然，古今中外“将门虎子”屡见不鲜，居里夫人的女儿是科学家、诺贝尔奖获得者；三苏同是“唐宋八大家”……他们从小就受到父母的熏陶，使他们对某门学科产生兴趣，这是他们成才原因之一。我国数学家张广厚的父亲是个目不识丁的矿工，家境贫寒，然而张广厚在艰难中自强不息，靠自己的努力，刻苦攻关，在数学研究方面取得了卓越的成就。可见，他们的成功绝非靠父母遗传，而是靠自己的努力。常言道：“师傅领进门，修行在个人。”父母、老师给我们指明方向，指出学习方法，他们也不可能一辈子伴随着我们走，进一步地学习、钻研就要靠自己了。

How should parents help children to be independent ?

Nowadays, the number of single-child family is increasingly growing under the Family Policy. It’s not surpring that the child, viewed as the apple of the parents’ eye, get so much attention that there is a lack of independence in the life. While the parents are eager to make a fuss over their child, they must be aware that it is their too much love that make the children’s inability to comfront the difficulties from the life.

It is necessary for parents to provide love for their child in a right way. First，they are supposed not to pray for an easy life for their child. Children should be exposed to the real world, and with parents’ help they will make it clear that life is filled with ups and downs. Second, parents do as a leader to give children a right direction and other things are left to children. Last but not least, parents’ approval of right decision from children and encouragement to children when they fail is the strength of the growth for children. Sharing children’s success with them and helping them when necessary is more vital than too much love.

我从小就是一个衣来伸手，饭来张口的小女孩，想要什么爸爸妈妈都会给我买，是家里的小皇帝。

随着时光飞逝，我也渐渐地长大了。我本以为长大之后会像公主一样更加得人宠爱，但老天好像在和我作对似的。我长大后，爸爸妈妈的工作反而更忙了，而我还要去上学，学习各种知识。虽然我每天等爸爸妈妈下班后还是可以赖在他们身边，但是我却无法避免独立生活的麻烦。

有一次，老师发给我们了一张宣传单，上面说有一个夏令营活动，分别有两条路线——北京和上海，自愿参加。我出于好奇，便报名了这次夏令营的北京路线。但我后来才知道，夏令营必须一个人去，爸爸妈妈是不能陪的。我的心顿时变得空空的，很后悔当初报名了这个夏令营。可既然都已经报名了，总不能不去呀!所以，我还是咬咬牙，去了。

待夏令营开始后，我终于开始独立生活了，虽然只有六天的时间。在这仅仅六天的时间里，我们要独自完成所有自己的事情，对我来说，真是难上加难。早上的时候，我们都要很早起床，有时是五点多，有时是六点多，甚至是三点多起床。起床后要自己刷牙洗脸，自己梳头发、扎辫子，自己叠被子，整理衣服。游玩时，东西都得自己保管好，老师是不会帮你“寄存”的。丢了东西，后果自负。晚上，我们要自己洗澡，自己收拾东西，自己换洗衣服，自己为手机充电······总之，这样的日子可是不好熬的。

不过，两三天过去了，虽然我难免思念着爸爸妈妈，但是我也慢慢地习惯了这样的独立生活，学会了独立。我发现，原来独立生活一点也不难啊!
