二十年后，正在美国搞科研的我，回到了家乡——老河口。家乡的每条马路两旁都种上了桂花树，站在高楼放眼望去，形成了一片片“小树林”。

回到阔别已久的老河口，当然要先去母亲河——汉江河那里啦！

来到滨江公园，那里鸟语花香，绿树成荫，那里的空气格外清新，让人忍不住多吸几口，树木长得很高大了，因此，只要在滨江公园范围内，都感觉不到一丝热意，下了台阶，一股海腥味扑鼻而来，汉江河中小鱼不时跃出水面，还有一些小鱼躲在水底吹泡泡；有一些海藻在水面上漂浮着，使水更加青绿，不知不觉中，我走到了尽头，那里有许多孩子在捡垃圾，他们一个个挥汗如雨，累的气喘吁吁，可他们一点也不在乎，不到一会他们就捡完了，这些孩子真配得上“环保小卫士”这个称号。

连小孩子都可以成为一名合格的环保小卫士，而许多成人却不能，真让人汗颜！

现在社会科技发展突飞猛进，可我们对社会污染，却全然不知，泥石流、洪涝灾害、地球沙漠化。这一切，都是我们不爱护大自然应有的惩罚，那未来的环境是什么样呢？是垃圾如山？还是一尘不染？

我带着美好的幻想进入了我们的未来。

那时候每条大街小巷都有垃圾机器人，把地面扫的干干净净。在山上，参天大树随处可见，天空像一片蓝色而洁净的汪洋。

陆地上的问题解决了，可是水中的问题怎么办？别担心，那时候每条江、每条河、每潭湖和每片海，都有“清洁水系统”。它有一条孔比一粒青苔还小的过滤网，将垃圾堵在外面，把水放过去，如果有浑浊的水呢？它就会用无污染海绵将其吸走，将清水用一条通道排出去。那被网挡住的垃圾怎么办呢？就会有垃圾机器鱼游过来吃掉这些垃圾，机器鱼在吃垃圾的同时还会产生大量的热能，科学家们把这些热量转化成电。通过变电站把这些电送到世界的各个角落。为人们创造更多的财富。
