I read the Chinese version of “Camille” a few years ago. At that time I was deeply moved by the main character Marguerite Gautier. “Camille” or “The Lady of the Camellias” by Alexandre Dumas, fils, is the story of Marguerite Gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in Paris in the mid 1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, Armand Duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. However, happiness didn’t last for long. When M. Duval, Armands father, came to her, pleading for her to leave Armand to save both Armands reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, Marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. She felt that it was her duty, because she loved Armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting Armand temporarily. She reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day Armand would forgive her. Sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, Julie Duprat, who helped her during her illness. She had her journal sent to Armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. I think Dumass last few lines about Marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and I also agreed with his view that while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. A person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. This applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. And this is the fact, which exists in the whole society.

As far as the other characters in the book, I think Marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being Armand and Julie Duprat. Of course, the Comte de G. and Comte de N. wanted her body and appearance. The Duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. If he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. And lastly, Prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used Marguerite almost worse than the men. 没有月饼的中秋节，我可不想过这样没意义的节日，于是便缠着奶奶要去买，平时最宠我的奶奶可没想到却一口否决了。她说：“吃月饼有害健康，而且会让人长得更胖”。

看来，想吃到月饼的我，今年已经见不到我那美味的月饼了。

“但是，”她把这二个字咬得特重，“我们难道不能用其它的东西来代替月饼吗?”

我恍然大悟：“我知道该做什么了!”!

到了晚上，我拿起一把小刀一个苹果，一刀一刀的，不一会一块呈不规则图形的苹果片就呈现我眼前，接着又一阵雕刻，“月饼”中央立马出现了一个巨大的“月”字，再往边上的一些地方点上少许番茄酱，一个完美的“月饼”就在我的巧手中完工了。

不过，它虽然外观不错，但味道却实在不咋样的。我又找来了几种水果，看上去明显不合适。这时奶奶又把两个圆圆的大白馒头交给我。我愣愣地呆了一会儿，心里逐渐有点儿佩服起奶奶来了。这次我直接在馒头上用番茄酱写一个大大的“月”字，再放进烤箱里一烤，香味顿时飘满了整个厨房。再细品一小口，那味儿真让人流口水。

这下好了，既不用花很多的钱，也能吃上“月饼”，而且还能体会到无限的乐趣，真可谓是“一举三得”呀!而且这“月饼”吃起来，也竟不比五仁月饼差也，成本也便宜，而且比较健康，可谓是“赛月饼”啊!

中秋节还有关于它的民谣，如《拜月娥》、《月饼》等……还有习俗也很多比如说：祭月、燃灯、赏月、追月、观潮、猜谜、吃月饼、舞火龙和玩兔爷等等……

每年八月十五都是满月，所以才会叫中秋节，这时的我们都会一家人坐在院子里一边赏月一边吃月饼。姥姥最常给我讲的故事就是关于月亮上的嫦娥仙子、玉兔和桂花树。吃着香香甜甜的月饼听着姥姥讲故事感觉好幸福，姥爷问我：“好吃吗?”我说;“太好吃了!”姥爷说：“你只知道好吃，你知道月饼的来历吗?”我好奇地摇摇头“那好，我来给你讲讲吧，你姥姥只给你讲故事都还没有吃月饼，咱让你姥姥也吃着月饼听故事好不好?”姥爷说：“月饼最初是用来祭奉月神的祭品，后来人们渐渐把中秋节赏月与品尝月饼，作为家人团圆的象征，它代表着平安`幸福，慢慢地月饼也成了节日的礼品了。”姥爷接着问：“你知道月饼名字的来历吗?”我又摇摇头，着急的催姥爷快讲，姥爷说：在很久以前，“月饼”也叫“胡饼，”据说有一年的中秋之夜，唐太宗和杨贵妃赏月吃胡饼，唐太宗嫌胡饼这个名字不好听，杨贵妃仰望着皎洁的明月，随口说出“月饼”，从此“月饼”的名字便在民间渐渐传开。听到这里，我对姥爷说：“这个故事好美、这个月饼好香、好甜!”

可是妈妈又给我讲了一个不一样的故事。妈妈说：“中秋节吃月饼据说始于元代。当时朱元璋领导汉人反抗元朝暴政，约定在八月十五这一天起义，以互赠月饼的办法把字条夹在月饼中传递消息。中秋节吃月饼的习俗更在民间流传开了。”我问妈妈：“中秋节为什么要赏月?”妈妈耐心的回答：“中秋之夜，月色皎白，古人把月圆视为团圆的象征，因此，又称八月十五为团圆节。古往今来，人们常用月圆和月缺来形容悲欢离合。”整个晚上，我都在津津有味的听姥爷、姥姥和妈妈给我讲有关八月十五的各种传说，我都听的入了神。我对妈妈说：“我喜欢每个故事与神话。”妈妈摸着我的头说;“中国有五千年历史文化，中国的传统节日和文化需要我们一起传承、发扬光大，不可以让西方文化所侵蚀。”现在的我虽然不是很明白，但我会记住家人对我说的每句话。

睡觉的时候，妈妈教了我一首词，叫《水调歌头》(北宋，苏轼)明月几时有?把酒问青天。不知天上宫阙，今夕是何年。我欲乘风归去，又恐琼楼玉宇，高处不胜寒。起舞弄清影，何似在人间?转朱阁，低绮户，照无眠。不应有恨，何事长向别时圆?人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺，此事古难全。但愿人长久，千里共婵娟。妈妈念着词，我听着听着就慢慢的睡着了。

夜里我做了一个梦，梦里有我的老师、我和同学们围坐在一起，听老师讲故事、和同学做游戏、大家有说有笑的在一起吃着月饼欢度中秋佳节呢!

Mid-autumn Day is a Chinese festival。 It usually es in September or October 。On that day we usually eat a big dinner and mooncakes。 It is said "Hou Yi" missed his wife，so he made mooncakes。 It looks like the moon。

There are many kinds of mooncakes。 They are small round cakes with meat， nuts or something sweet inside 。 eating mooncakes has been our custom。 Families stay outside in the open air eat a big dinner and mooncakes。 The most important thing is looking at the moon， On that day， the moon kooks brighter and rounder。 We call this moon the full moon。

On that day， families get together， so we call this day getting together。 This is Mid-autumn Day。 I love it very much。 Because on that day I can eat mooncakes。 And my brother es back home。 He works outside all year。 Only that day and the Spring Festival。 He es back。 So that day I am especially happy。 On that day my family gets together。

中秋节是一个中国节日，通常是九月或十月。当天我们经常吃一顿丰盛的晚餐和月饼。据说“后羿”想念他的妻子，所以他做了月饼。它看起来像月亮。

有各种各样的月饼。它们是小圆饼，里面有肉，坚果或者里面的甜点。吃月饼是我们的习惯。家人在户外露天吃大餐和月饼。最重要的是看着月亮，在那一天，月亮变得越来越明亮。我们称这个月亮为满月。

在那一天，家庭聚在一起，所以我们称这一天聚在一起。这是中秋节。我非常喜欢。因为那天我可以吃月饼。而且我的兄弟回家了。他全年都在外面工作只有那一天和春节。他回来了。所以那天我特别开心。那天我的家人聚在一起。
